2 Samuel 22
1And DavidH1732 spake unto Jehovah the wordsH1697 of this songH7892 in the dayH3117 that Jehovah deliveredH5337 him out of the handH3709 of all his enemiesH341, and out of the handH3709 of SaulH7586: 2and he saidH559,
Jehovah is my rockH5553, and my fortress, and my delivererH6403, even mine;3GodH430, my rockH6697, in him will I takeH2620 refugeH2620;My shieldH4043, and the hornH7161 of my salvationH3468, my high tower, and my refugeH2620;My saviour, thou savest me from violenceH2555.4I will callH7121 upon Jehovah, who is worthy to be praisedH1984:So shall I be savedH3467 from mine enemiesH341.5For the waves of deathH4194 compassed me;The floods of ungodliness made me afraid:6The cordsH2256 of SheolH7585 were roundH5437 about me;The snaresH4170 of deathH4194 came upon me.7In my distressH6862 I calledH7121 upon Jehovah;Yea, I calledH7121 unto my GodH430:And he heardH8085 my voiceH6963 out of his templeH1964,And my crycameinto his earsH241.8Then the earthH776 shookH7493 and trembledH7264, The foundationsH4146 of heavenH8064 quakedH7493 And were shaken, because he was wroth.9There wentH5927 up a smokeH6227 out of his nostrilsH639,And fireH784 out of his mouthH6310 devouredH398:CoalsH1513 were kindled by it.10He bowed the heavensH8064 also, and cameH3381 downH3381;And thickH6205 darknessH6205 was under his feetH7272.11And he rodeH7392 upon a cherubH3742, and did flyH5774;Yea, he was seenH7200 upon the wingsH3671 of the windH7307.12And he madeH7896 darknessH2822 pavilions roundH5439 about him,Gathering of watersH4325, thick cloudsH5645 of the skies.13At the brightnessH5051 before himCoalsH1513 of fireH784 were kindled.14Jehovah thunderedH7481 from heavenH8064,And the Most High uttered his voiceH6963.15And he sentH7971 out arrowsH2671, and scatteredH6327 them;LightningH1300, and discomfited them.16Then the channelsH650 of the seaH3220 appearedH7200,The foundationsH4146 of the worldH8398 were laid bare,By the rebukeH1606 of Jehovah,At the blast of the breathH7307 of his nostrilsH639.17He sentH7971 from on highH4791, he tookH3947 me;He drew me out of manyH7227 watersH4325;18He deliveredH5337 me from my strongH5794 enemyH341,From them that hatedH8130 me; for they were too mightyH5794 for me.19They came upon me in the dayH3117 of my calamityH343;But Jehovah wasH1961 my stay.20He broughtH3318 me forthH3318 also into a large placeH4800;He delivered me, because he delighted in me.21Jehovah rewarded me according to my righteousnessH6666;According to the cleannessH1252 of my handsH3027 hath he recompensed me.22For I have keptH8104 the waysH1870 of Jehovah,And have not wickedlyH7561 departed from my GodH430.23For all his ordinancesH4941 were before me;And as for his statutesH2708, I did not departH5493 from them.24I wasH1961 also perfectH8549 toward him;And I keptH8104 myself from mine iniquityH5771.25Therefore hath Jehovah recompensed me according to my righteousnessH6666,According to my cleannessH1252 in his eyesight.26With the merciful thou wilt showH8552 thyself merciful; With the perfectH8549 manH1368 thou wilt showH8552 thyself perfectH8549;27With the pureH1305 thou wilt showH6617 thyself pureH1305;And with the perverseH6141 thou wilt showH6617 thyself froward.28And the afflictedH6041 peopleH5971 thou wilt saveH3467;But thine eyesH5869 are upon the haughtyH7311, that thou mayest bringH8213 them down.29For thou art my lampH5216, O Jehovah; And Jehovah will lighten my darknessH2822.30For by thee I runH7323 upon a troopH1416;By my GodH430 do I leapH1801 over a wallH7791.31As for GodH410, his wayH1870 is perfectH8549:The wordH565 of Jehovah is tried; He is a shieldH4043 unto all them that takeH2620 refugeH2620 in him.32For who is GodH430, save Jehovah? And who is a rockH6697, save our GodH430?33GodH410 is my strong fortress; And he guideth the perfectH8549 in his wayH1870.34He maketh his feetH7272 like hinds’ feetH7272,And setteth me upon my highH1116 placesH1116.35He teacheth my handsH3027 to warH4421,So that mine armsH2220 do bend a bowH7198 of brass.36Thou hast also givenH5414 me the shieldH4043 of thy salvationH3468;And thy gentleness hath madeH5414 me great.37Thou hast enlargedH7337 my stepsH6806 under me;And my feet have not slippedH4571.38I have pursuedH7291 mine enemiesH341, and destroyedH8045 them;Neither did I turnH7725 again till they were consumed.39And I have consumedH398 them, and smitten them through, so that they cannot ariseH6965:Yea, they are fallenH5307 under my feetH7272.40For thou hast girdedH247 me with strengthH2428 unto the battleH4421;Thou hast subdued under me those that roseH6965 up against me.41Thou hast also madeH5414 mine enemiesH341 turn their backsH6203 unto me,That I might cut off them that hateH8130 me.42They lookedH8159, but there was none to saveH3467;Even unto Jehovah, but he answeredH6030 them not.43Then did I beatH7833 them small as the dustH6083 of the earthH776,I did crushH1854 them as the mire of the streetsH2351, and did spreadH7554 them abroad.44Thou also hast deliveredH6403 me from the strivings of my peopleH5971;Thou hast keptH8104 me to be the headH7218 of the nationsH1471:A peopleH5971 whom I have not knownH3045 shall serveH5647 me.45The foreigners shall submit themselves unto me:As soon as they hearH8085 of me, they shall obey me.46The foreigners shall fade away,And shall come trembling out of their close places.47Jehovah liveth; And blessedH1288 be my rockH6697;And exaltedH7311 be GodH430, the rockH6697 of my salvationH3468,48Even the GodH410 that executeth vengeanceH5360 for me,And that bringeth downH3381 peoplesH5971 under me,49And that bringeth me forthH3318 from mine enemiesH341:Yea, thou liftest me up above them that riseH6965 up against me;Thou deliverest me from the violent manH376.50ThereforeH3651 I will giveH3034 thanksH3034 unto thee, O Jehovah, among the nationsH1471,And will singH2167 praisesH2167 unto thy nameH8034.51Great deliveranceH3444 giveth he to his kingH4428,And showeth lovingkindness to his anointedH4899,To DavidH1732 and to his seedH2233, for evermore.
