23When Abigailאֲבִיגַ֙יִל֙'a.vi.Ga.yilH26sawוַתֵּ֤רֶאva.Te.re'H7200Davidדָּוִ֔דda.VidH1732,she hurriedוַתְּמַהֵ֕רva.te.ma.HerH4116and dismountedוַתֵּ֖רֶדva.Te.redH3381from her donkeyהַחֲמ֑וֹרha.cha.MorH2543,and fellוַתִּפֹּ֞לva.ti.PolH5307on her faceפָּנֶ֔יהָpa.Nei.haH6440in frontלְאַפֵּ֤יle.'a.PeiH639of Davidדָוִד֙da.VidH1732and bowedH2331herself to the groundאָֽרֶץ׃'A.retzH776.

24She fellוַתִּפֹּל֙va.ti.PolH5307at his feetרַגְלָ֔יוrag.LavH7272and saidוַתֹּ֕אמֶרva.To.merH559, “On mealoneאֲנִ֥י'a.NiH589,my lordאֲדֹנִ֖י'a.do.NiH113,be the blameהֶֽעָוֹ֑ןhe.'a.VonH5771.And pleaseנָ֤אna'H4994let your slaveאֲמָֽתְךָ֙'a.ma.te.KhaH519speakוּֽתְדַבֶּר־u.te.da.ber-H1696to you, and listenוּשְׁמַ֕עu.she.Ma'H8085to the wordsדִּבְרֵ֥יdiv.ReiH1697of your slaveאֲמָתֶֽךָ׃'a.ma.Te.khaH519.

25Pleaseנָ֣אna'H4994do not let my lordאֲדֹנִ֣י׀'a.do.NiH113payיָשִׂ֣יםya.SimH7760attentionלִבּ֡וֹli.BoH3820to thisהַזֶּ֜הha.ZehH2088worthlessהַבְּלִיַּ֨עַלha.be.li.Ya.'alH1100manאִישׁ֩'ishH376,Nabalנָבָ֗לna.ValH5037,for as his nameכִשְׁמוֹ֙khish.MoH8034is, soכֶּן־ken-H3651is he.Nabalנָבָ֣לna.ValH5037is his nameשְׁמ֔וֹshe.MoH8034,and stupidityוּנְבָלָ֖הu.ne.va.LahH5039is with him; but I your slaveאֲמָ֣תְךָ֔'a.Ma.te.khaH519did not seeרָאִ֛יתִיra.'I.tiH7200the youngנַעֲרֵ֥יna.'a.ReiH5288menH5288of my lordאֲדֹנִ֖י'a.do.NiH113whomאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834you sentשָׁלָֽחְתָּ׃sha.La.che.taH7971.

26“Nowוְעַתָּ֣הve.'a.TahH6258then, my lordאֲדֹנִ֗י'a.do.NiH113,as the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068livesחַי־chai-H2416,and as your soulנַפְשְׁךָ֙naf.she.KhaH5315livesוְחֵֽי־ve.chei-H2416,sinceאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068has restrainedמְנָעֲךָ֤me.na.'a.KhaH4513you fromsheddingמִבּ֣וֹאmi.Bo'H935bloodבְדָמִ֔יםve.da.MimH1818, and fromavengingוְהוֹשֵׁ֥עַve.ho.She.a'H3467yourself by your own handיָדְךָ֖ya.de.KhaH3027,nowוְעַתָּ֗הve.'a.TahH6258then,may your enemiesH340and those who seekוְהַֽמְבַקְשִׁ֥יםve.ham.vak.ShimH1245evilH7463againstאֶל־'el-H413my lordאֲדֹנִ֖י'a.do.NiH113,be like Nabalכְנָבָל֙khe.na.ValH5037.

27And nowוְעַתָּה֙ve.'a.TahH6258letthisH2088giftהַבְּרָכָ֣הha.be.ra.KhahH1293whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834your servantשִׁפְחָתְךָ֖shif.cha.te.KhaH8198has broughtהֵבִ֥יאhe.Vi'H935to my lordלַֽאדֹנִ֑יla.do.NiH113be givenוְנִתְּנָה֙ve.ni.te.NahH5414to the youngלַנְּעָרִ֔יםla.ne.'a.RimH5288menH5288whoaccompanyהַמִּֽתְהַלְּכִ֖ים בְּרַגְלֵ֥יha.mit.ha.le.Khim be.rag.LeiH1980 H7272my lordאֲדֹנִֽי׃'a.do.NiH113.

28Pleaseנָ֖אna'H4994forgiveשָׂ֥אsa'H5375the offenseלְפֶ֣שַׁעle.Fe.sha'H6588of your slaveאֲמָתֶ֑ךָ'a.ma.Te.khaH519; forthe Lordיְהוָ֨הYah.wehH3068will certainlyעָשֹֽׂה־'a.soh-H6213makeיַעֲשֶׂה֩ya.'a.SehH6213for my lordלַֽאדֹנִ֜יla.do.NiH113anenduringנֶאֱמָ֗ןne.'e.ManH539houseבַּ֣יִתBa.yitH1004,becauseH3588my lordאֲדֹנִ֣י'a.do.NiH113isfightingנִלְחָ֔םnil.ChamH3898the battlesמִלְחֲמ֤וֹתmil.cha.MotH4421of the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068, andevilH7463will not be foundתִמָּצֵ֥אti.ma.Tze'H4672in you allH4480your daysמִיָּמֶֽיךָ׃mi.ya.Mei.khaH3117.

29Should anyoneאָדָם֙'a.DamH120riseH6965upH6965to pursueלִרְדָפְךָ֔lir.da.fe.KhaH7291you and to seekוּלְבַקֵּ֖שׁu.le.va.KeshH1245yourlifeנַפְשֶׁ֑ךָnaf.She.khaH5315, then thelifeנֶ֨פֶשׁNe.feshH5315of my lordאֲדֹנִ֜י'a.do.NiH113shall be boundצְרוּרָ֣ה׀tze.ru.RahH6887in the bundleבִּצְר֣וֹרbitz.RorH6872of the livingהַחַיִּ֗יםha.chai.YimH2416with the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430; but thelivesנֶ֤פֶשׁNe.feshH5315of your enemiesH340He will slingH7049outH7049as from the hollowכַּ֥ףkafH3709of a slingהַקָּֽלַע׃ha.Ka.la'H7050.

30And whenכִּֽי־ki-H3588the LordH3068doesיַעֲשֶׂ֤הya.'a.SehH6213for my lordH3068in accordance with allכְּכֹ֛לke.KholH3605the goodH2899that He has spokenדִּבֶּ֥רdi.BerH1696concerningעָלֶ֑יךָ'a.Lei.khaH5921you, andappointsוְצִוְּךָ֥ve.tzi.ve.KhaH6680you rulerלְנָגִ֖ידle.na.GidH5057overעַל־'al-H5921Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478,

31thisH2088will not become an obstacleלְפוּקָה֩le.fu.KahH6330to you, or atroubledוּלְמִכְשׁ֨וֹלu.le.mikh.SholH4383heartלֵ֜בlevH3820to my lordלַאדֹנִ֗יla.do.NiH113,both by having shedוְלִשְׁפָּךְ־ve.lish.pokh-H8210bloodדָּם֙damH1818withoutH2600causeחִנָּ֔םchi.NamH2600and by my lord’sאֲדֹנִ֖י'a.do.NiH113havingavengedוּלְהוֹשִׁ֥יעַu.le.ho.Shi.a'H3467himself.When the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068dealsH3190wellH3190with my lordלַֽאדֹנִ֔יla.do.NiH113,then rememberוְזָכַרְתָּ֖ve.za.khar.TaH2142your slaveאֲמָתֶֽךָ׃ ס'a.ma.Te.khaH519.”

32Then Davidדָּוִ֖דda.VidH1732saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Abigailלַאֲבִיגַ֑לla.'a.vi.GalH26, “Blessedבָּר֤וּךְba.RukhH1288be the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,whoאֲשֶׁ֧ר'a.SherH834sentשְׁלָחֵ֛ךְshe.la.ChekhH7971you thisהַזֶּ֖הha.ZehH2088dayהַיּ֥וֹםhai.YomH3117to meetלִקְרָאתִֽי׃lik.ra.TiH7122me,

33and blessedוּבָר֥וּךְu.va.RukhH1288be your discernmentטַעְמֵ֖ךְta'.MekhH2940,and blessedוּבְרוּכָ֣הu.ve.ru.KhahH1288be you,whoאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834have keptכְּלִתִ֜נִיke.li.Ti.niH3607me thisהַזֶּה֙ha.ZehH2088dayהַיּ֤וֹםhai.YomH3117frombloodshedמִבּ֣וֹא בְדָמִ֔יםmi.Bo' ve.da.MimH935 H1818and fromavengingוְהֹשֵׁ֥עַve.ho.She.a'H3467myself by my own handיָדִ֖יya.DiH3027.

34Neverthelessוְאוּלָ֗םve.'u.LamH199,as the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478livesחַי־chai-H2416,whoאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834has restrainedמְנָעַ֔נִיme.na.'A.niH4513me from harmingמֵהָרַ֖עme.ha.Ra'H7489you, ifכִּ֣י׀ לוּלֵ֣יki lu.LeiH3588 H3884you had not comeוַתָּבֹאת֙va.ta.vo.tiH935quicklyמִהַ֗רְתְּmi.HartH4116to meetלִקְרָאתִ֔יlik.ra.TiH7122me, there certainlyכִּ֣י אִם־ki 'im-H3588 H518would not have been leftנוֹתַ֧רno.TarH3498to Nabalלְנָבָ֛לle.na.ValH5037untilעַד־'ad-H5704the morningהַבֹּ֖קֶרha.Bo.kerH1242lightא֥וֹר'orH216as much as onemaleמַשְׁתִּ֥ין בְּקִֽיר׃mash.Tin be.KirH8366 H7023.”

35So Davidדָּוִד֙da.VidH1732acceptedוַיִּקַּ֤חvai.yi.KachH3947from her handמִיָּדָ֔הּmi.ya.DahH3027whatאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834she had broughtהֵבִ֖יאָהhe.Vi.'ahH935him, and saidאָמַ֗ר'a.MarH559to her, “Goעֲלִ֤י'a.LiH5927upH5927to your houseלְבֵיתֵ֔ךְle.vei.TekhH1004in peaceלְשָׁלוֹם֙le.sha.lOmH7965.Seeרְאִי֙re.'IH7200,I have listenedשָׁמַ֣עְתִּיsha.Ma'.tiH8085to you andgrantedוָאֶשָּׂ֖אva.'e.Sa'H5375your requestפָּנָֽיִךְ׃pa.Na.yikhH6440.”
