11Then the kingהַמֶּ֡לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֣חvai.yish.LachH7971a messengerto summonלִקְרֹא֩lik.Ro'H7121Ahimelechאֲחִימֶ֨לֶךְ'a.chi.Me.lekhH288the priestהַכֹּהֵ֗ןha.ko.HenH3548,the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Ahitubאֲחִיט֜וּב'a.chi.TuvH285,and allכָּל־kol-H3605his father’sאָבִ֛יו'a.VivH1householdבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004,the priestsהַכֹּהֲנִ֖יםha.ko.ha.NimH3548whoאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834were in Nobבְּנֹ֑בbe.NoH5011;and allכֻלָּ֖םkhu.LamH3605of them cameוַיָּבֹ֥אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935to the kingהַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ סha.Me.lekhH4428.

12Saulשָׁא֔וּלsha.'UlH7586saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Listenשְֽׁמַֽע־she.ma'-H8085nowנָ֖אna'H4994,sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Ahitubאֲחִיט֑וּב'a.chi.TuvH285.” And herepliedוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “HereH2009I am, my lordאֲדֹנִֽי׃'a.do.NiH113.”

13Saulשָׁא֔וּלsha.'UlH7586then saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to him, “Whyלָ֚מָּהLa.mahH4100have you and the sonוּבֶן־u.ven-H1121of Jesseיִשָׁ֑יyi.ShaiH3448conspiredקְשַׁרְתֶּ֣םke.shar.TemH7194againstעָלַ֔י'a.LaiH5921me, in that you have givenבְּתִתְּךָ֨be.ti.te.KhaH5414him breadלֶ֣חֶםLe.chemH3899and a swordוְחֶ֗רֶבve.Che.revH2719,and have inquiredוְשָׁא֥וֹלve.sha.'olH7592of Godבֵּֽאלֹהִ֔יםbe.lo.HimH430for him, so that he would riseלָק֥וּםla.KumH6965upH6965againstH413meby lyingH693inH693ambushH693as it isthisהַזֶּֽה׃ סha.ZehH2088dayכַּיּ֥וֹםkai.YomH3117?”

14Then Ahimelechאֲחִימֶ֛לֶךְ'a.chi.Me.lekhH288answeredוַיַּ֧עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030the kingהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428and saidוַיֹּאמַ֑רvai.yo.MarH559, “And whoוּמִ֤יu.MiH4310among allבְכָל־ve.khol-H3605your servantsעֲבָדֶ֙יךָ֙'a.va.Dei.khaH5650is as faithfulנֶאֱמָ֔ןne.'e.ManH539as Davidכְּדָוִ֣דke.da.VidH1732,the king’sהַמֶּ֛לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428ownson-in-lawוַחֲתַ֥ןva.cha.TanH2860, whois commander overאֶל־'el-H413your bodyguardמִשְׁמַעְתֶּ֖ךָmish.ma'.Te.khaH4928,and is honoredוְנִכְבָּ֥דve.nikh.BadH3513in your houseבְּבֵיתֶֽךָ׃be.vei.Te.khaH1004?

15Did I justbeginהַחִלֹּ֛תִיha.chi.Lo.tiH2490to inquireלִשְׁאָלle.sha.'ol-H7592of Godבֵאלֹהִ֖יםve.lo.HimH430for him todayהַיּ֧וֹםhai.YomH3117?Farחָלִ֣ילָהcha.Li.lahH2486be it from me!Do not let the kingהַמֶּ֨לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428imputeיָשֵׂם֩ya.SemH7760anythingדָבָר֙da.VarH1697against his servantבְּעַבְדּ֤וֹbe.'av.DoH5650oragainst anyבְּכָל־be.kholH3605of the householdבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of my fatherאָבִ֔י'a.ViH1,becauseכִּ֠יkiH3588your servantעַבְדְּךָ֙'av.de.KhaH5650knowsיָדַ֤עya.Da'H3045nothingלֹֽא־lo'-H3808at allקָטֹ֖ן גָדֽוֹל׃ka.Ton ga.DolH6996 H1419of thisH2088wholeבְּכָל־be.kholH3605affairדָּבָ֥רda.VarH1697.”

16But the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “You shall certainlyמ֥וֹתMotH4191dieתָּמ֖וּתta.MutH4191,Ahimelechאֲחִימֶ֑לֶךְ'a.chi.Me.lekhH288,you and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605your father’sאָבִֽיךָ׃'a.Vi.khaH1householdבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004!”
