Exodus 14:9-30
9Then 1the EgyptiansH4714 chasedH7291 afterH310 them with allH3605 the horsesH5483 and chariotsH7393 of PharaohH6547, his horsemenH6571 and his armyH2428, and they overtookH5381 them campingH2583 by the seaH3220, 2besideH5921 Pi-hahirothH6367, in frontH6440 of Baal-zephonH1189.
10As PharaohH6547 drewH7126 nearH7126, the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 3lookedH5375H5869, and beholdH2009, the EgyptiansH4714 were marchingH5265 afterH310 them, and they becameH3372 veryH3966 frightenedH3372; 4so the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 criedH6817 out to the LordH3068. 11Then 5they saidH559 to MosesH4872, “Is it becauseH4480H1097 thereH369 were noH369 gravesH6913 in EgyptH4714 that you have takenH3947 us away to dieH4191 in the wildernessH4057? WhyH4100 have you dealtH6213 with us in thisH2088 wayH2088, 6bringingH3318 us out of EgyptH4714? 127Is thisH2088 not the wordH1697 that we spokeH1696 to you in EgyptH4714, sayingH559, ‘8LeaveH2308 us aloneH4480 that we may serveH5647 the EgyptiansH4714’? For it would have been betterH2896 for us to serveH5647 the EgyptiansH4714 thanH4480 to dieH4191 in the wildernessH4057.” 13But MosesH4872 saidH559 to the peopleH5971, “9Do not fearH3372! 10StandH3320 by and seeH7200 11the salvationH3444 of the LordH3068 whichH834 He will accomplishH6213 for you todayH3117; for the EgyptiansH4714 whomH834 you have seenH7200 todayH3117, you will neverH3808H5750 seeH7200 them againH3254 foreverH5704H5769. 1412The LordH3068 will fightH3898 for you while 13you keepH2790 silentH2790.”
15Then the LordH3068 saidH559 to MosesH4872, “WhyH4100 are you cryingH6817 out to Me? TellH1696 the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 to goH5265 forwardH5265. 16As for you, liftH7311 up 14your staffH4294 and stretchH5186 out your handH3027 overH5921 the seaH3220 and divideH1234 it, and the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 shall 15goH935 throughH935 the midstH8432 of the seaH3220 on dryH3004 landH3004. 17As for Me, beholdH2009, 16I will 17hardenH2388 the heartsH3820 of the EgyptiansH4714 so that they will goH935 in afterH310 them; and I will be honoredH3513 through PharaohH6547 and allH3605 his armyH2428, through his chariotsH7393 and his horsemenH6571. 1818Then the EgyptiansH4714 will knowH3045 that I am the LordH3068, when I am honoredH3513 through PharaohH6547, through his chariotsH7393 and his horsemenH6571.”
1919The angelH4397 of GodH430, who had been goingH1980 beforeH6440 the campH4264 of IsraelH3478, movedH5265 and wentH1980 behindH4480H310 them; and the pillarH5982 of cloudH6051 movedH5265 from beforeH4480H6440 them and stoodH5975 behindH4480H310 them. 20So it cameH935 betweenH996 the campH4264 of EgyptH4714 and the campH4264 of IsraelH3478; and there was the cloudH6051 20along with the darknessH2822, yet it gaveH215 lightH215 at nightH3915. Thus the oneH2088 did not comeH7126 nearH7126 the otherH2088 allH3605 nightH3915.
2121Then MosesH4872 stretchedH5186 out his handH3027 overH5921 the seaH3220; and the LordH3068 22sweptH1980 the seaH3220 back by a strongH5794 eastH6921 windH7307 allH3605 nightH3915 and turnedH7760 the seaH3220 into 23dryH2724 landH2724, so 24the watersH4325 were dividedH1234. 2225The sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 26wentH935 throughH935 the midstH8432 of the seaH3220 on the dryH3004 landH3004, and 27the watersH4325 were like a wallH2346 to them on their rightH3225 handH3225 and on their leftH8040. 23Then 28the EgyptiansH4714 tookH7291 up the pursuitH7291, and allH3605 Pharaoh’sH6547 horsesH5483, his chariotsH7393 and his horsemenH6571 wentH935 in afterH310 them into the midstH8432 of the seaH3220. 24At the morningH1242 watchH821, 29the LordH3068 lookedH8259 downH8259 on the 30armyH4264 of the EgyptiansH4714 31through the pillarH5982 of fireH784 and cloudH6051 and broughtH2000 the 32armyH4264 of the EgyptiansH4714 into confusionH2000. 25He 33caused their chariotH4818 wheelsH212 to swerveH5493, and He made them driveH5090 with difficultyH3517; so the EgyptiansH4714 saidH559, “Let 34us fleeH5127 from IsraelH3478, 35for the LordH3068 is fightingH3898 for them against the EgyptiansH4714.”
26Then the LordH3068 saidH559 to MosesH4872, “36StretchH5186 out your handH3027 overH5921 the seaH3220 so that the watersH4325 may comeH7725 backH7725 overH5921 the EgyptiansH4714, overH5921 their chariotsH7393 and their horsemenH6571.” 27So MosesH4872 stretchedH5186 out his handH3027 overH5921 the seaH3220, and 37the seaH3220 returnedH7725 to its normalH386 stateH386 at daybreakH1242, while the EgyptiansH4714 were fleeingH5127 38rightH7122 into it; then the LordH3068 3940overthrewH5287 the EgyptiansH4714 in the midstH8432 of the seaH3220. 28The watersH4325 returnedH7725 and coveredH3680 the chariotsH7393 and the horsemenH6571, 41even Pharaoh’sH6547 entireH3605 armyH2428 that had goneH935 into the seaH3220 afterH310 them; 42not evenH5704 oneH259 of them remainedH7604. 29But the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 walkedH1980 on 43dryH3004 landH3004 through the midstH8432 of the seaH3220, and the watersH4325 were like a wallH2346 to them on their rightH3225 handH3225 and on their leftH8040.
3044Thus the LordH3068 savedH3467 IsraelH3478 that dayH3117 from the handH3027 of the EgyptiansH4714, and IsraelH3478 45sawH7200 the EgyptiansH4714 deadH4191 on the seashoreH3220H8193.
