Deuteronomy 29:10-28
10“You standH5324 todayH3117, allH3605 of you, beforeH6440 the LordH3068 your GodH430: your chiefsH7218, your tribesH7626, your eldersH2205 and your officersH7860, even allH3605 the menH376 of IsraelH3478, 11your littleH2945 onesH2945, your wivesH802, and the alienH1616 whoH834 is withinH7130 your campsH4264, from 1the one who chopsH2404 your woodH2404 to the one who drawsH7579 your waterH4325, 12that you may enterH5674 into the covenantH1285 with the LordH3068 your GodH430, and into His oathH423 whichH834 the LordH3068 your GodH430 is makingH3772 with you todayH3117, 13in orderH4616 that He may establishH6965 you todayH3117 as His peopleH5971 and that 2He may be your GodH430, justH3512 as He spokeH1696 to you and as He sworeH7650 to your fathersH1, to AbrahamH85, IsaacH3327, and JacobH3290.
14“Now not with you aloneH905 am I 3makingH3772 thisH2088 covenantH1285 and thisH2088 oathH423, 154but both with those whoH834 standH5975 hereH6311 with us todayH3117 in the presenceH6440 of the LordH3068 our GodH430 and with those whoH834 are not with us hereH6311 todayH3117 16(for you knowH3045 howH834 we livedH3427 in the landH776 of EgyptH4714, and howH834 we cameH5674 through the midstH7130 of the nationsH1471 throughH5674 whichH834 you passedH5674; 17moreover, you have seenH7200 their abominationsH8251 and their idolsH1544 of 5woodH6086, stoneH68, silverH3701, and goldH2091, whichH834 they had with them); 186soH6435 that thereH3426 will not be among you a manH376 orH176 womanH802, orH176 familyH4940 orH176 tribeH7626, whoseH834 heartH3824 turnsH6437 awayH6437 todayH3117 from the LordH3068 our GodH430, to goH1980 and serveH5647 the godsH430 of thoseH1992 nationsH1471; that thereH3426 will not be among you 7a rootH8328 bearingH6509 poisonousH7219 fruitH6509 and wormwoodH3939. 19It shall be when he hearsH8085 the wordsH1697 of thisH2088 curseH423, that he will 8boastH1288, sayingH559, ‘I haveH1961 peaceH7965 thoughH3588 I walkH1980 in the stubbornnessH8307 of my heartH3820 in orderH4616 9to destroyH5595 the wateredH7302 land with the dryH6771.’ 20The LordH3068 shall neverH3808 be willingH14 to forgiveH5545 him, but ratherH3588H227 the angerH639 of the LordH3068 and 10His jealousyH7068 will 1112burnH6225 against that manH376, and everyH3605 curseH423 which is writtenH3789 in thisH2088 bookH5612 will 13restH7257 on him, and the LordH3068 will 14blotH4229 out his nameH8034 from underH8478 heavenH8064. 21Then the LordH3068 will singleH914 him out for 15adversityH7463 from allH3605 the tribesH7626 of IsraelH3478, according to allH3605 the cursesH423 of the covenantH1285 16which are writtenH3789 in thisH2088 bookH5612 of the lawH8451.
22“Now the generationH1755 to comeH314, your sonsH1121 whoH834 riseH6965 up afterH4480H310 you and 17the foreignerH5237 whoH834 comesH935 from a distantH7350 landH776, when they seeH7200 the plaguesH4347 of the landH776 and the diseasesH8463 with whichH834 the LordH3068 has 18afflictedH2470 it, will sayH559, 23‘AllH3605 its landH776 is 19brimstoneH1614 and saltH4417, 20a burningH8316 waste, 21unsownH3808H2232 and unproductiveH6779H3808, and noH3808H3605 grassH6212 growsH5927 in it, like the overthrowH4114 of 22SodomH5467 and GomorrahH6017, AdmahH126 and ZeboiimH6636, whichH834 the LordH3068 overthrewH2015 in His angerH639 and in His wrathH2534.’ 24AllH3605 the nationsH1471 will sayH559, ‘23WhyH5921H4100 has the LordH3068 doneH6213 thusH3662 to thisH2088 landH776? WhyH4100 thisH2088 greatH1419 24outburstH2750 of angerH639?’ 25Then men will sayH559, ‘25BecauseH5921H834 they forsookH5800 the covenantH1285 of the LordH3068, the GodH430 of their fathersH1, whichH834 He madeH3772 with them when He broughtH3318 them out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714. 26They wentH1980 and servedH5647 otherH312 godsH430 and worshipedH7812 them, godsH430 whomH834 they have not knownH3045 and whom He had not 26allottedH2505 to them. 27Therefore, the angerH639 of the LordH3068 burnedH2734 against that landH776, 27to bringH935 upon it everyH3605 curseH7045 which is writtenH3789 in thisH2088 bookH5612; 28and 28the LordH3068 uprootedH5428 them from their landH127 in angerH639 and in furyH2534 and in greatH1419 wrathH7110, and castH7993 them into anotherH312 landH776, as it is thisH2088 dayH3117.’
