3“Our fatherאָבִינוּ֮'a.vi.NuH1diedמֵ֣תmetH4191in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּר֒ba.mid.BarH4057,yet he was not amongבְּת֣וֹךְbe.TokhH8432the companyהָעֵדָ֗הha.'e.DahH5712of those who gatheredהַנּוֹעָדִ֛יםha.no.'a.DimH3259themselves together againstעַל־'al-H5921the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068in the companyבַּעֲדַת־ba.'a.dat-H5712of Korahקֹ֑רַחKo.rachH7141;but he diedמֵ֔תMetH4191in his own sinבְחֶטְא֣וֹve.chet.'OH2399, andhe hadH1961noH3808sonsוּבָנִ֖יםu.va.NimH1121.

4Whyלָ֣מָּהLa.mahH4100should the nameשֵׁם־shem-H8034of our fatherאָבִ֙ינוּ֙'a.Vi.nuH1be withdrawnיִגָּרַ֤עyi.ga.Ra'H1639from amongמִתּ֣וֹךְmi.TokhH8432his familyמִשְׁפַּחְתּ֔וֹmish.pach.ToH4940becauseכִּ֛יkiH3588he hadH369noH369sonבֵּ֑ןBenH1121?Giveתְּנָה־te.nah-H5414us a possessionאֲחֻזָּ֔ה'a.chu.ZahH272amongבְּת֖וֹךְbe.TokhH8432our father’sאָבִֽינוּ׃'a.Vi.nuH1brothersאֲחֵ֥י'a.CheiH251.”

5So Mosesמֹשֶׁ֛הmo.ShehH4872broughtוַיַּקְרֵ֥בvai.yak.RevH7126their caseמִשְׁפָּטָ֖ןmish.pa.TanH4941beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָֽה׃ סYah.wehH3068.

6Then the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068spokeוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Mosesמֹשֶׁ֥הmo.ShehH4872,sayingלֵּאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

7“The daughtersבְּנ֣וֹתbe.NotH1323of Zelophehadצְלָפְחָד֮tze.la.fe.ChadH6765are rightH3653in theirstatementsדֹּבְרֹת֒doe.RotH1696.You shall surelyנָתֹ֨ןna.TonH5414giveתִּתֵּ֤ןti.TenH5414them a hereditaryנַחֲלָ֔הna.cha.LahH5159possessionאֲחֻזַּ֣ת'a.chu.ZatH272amongבְּת֖וֹךְbe.TokhH8432their father’sאֲבִיהֶ֑ם'a.vi.HemH1brothersאֲחֵ֣י'a.CheiH251,and you shall transferוְהַֽעֲבַרְתָּ֛ve.ha.'a.var.TaH5674the inheritanceנַחֲלַ֥תna.cha.LatH5159of their fatherאֲבִיהֶ֖ן'a.vi.HenH1to them.

8Further, you shall speakתְּדַבֵּ֣רte.da.BerH1696to the sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559, ‘Ifכִּֽי־ki-H3588a manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376diesיָמ֗וּתya.MutH4191and hasH369noH369sonוּבֵן֙u.VenH1121,then you shall transferוְהַֽעֲבַרְתֶּ֥םve.ha.'a.var.TemH5674his inheritanceנַחֲלָת֖וֹna.cha.la.ToH5159to his daughterלְבִתּֽוֹ׃le.vi.ToH1323.

9Ifוְאִם־ve.'im-H518he hasH369noH369daughterבַּ֑תBatH1323,then you shall giveוּנְתַתֶּ֥םu.ne.ta.TemH5414his inheritanceנַחֲלָת֖וֹna.cha.la.ToH5159to his brothersלְאֶחָיו׃le.'e.chavH251.

10Ifוְאִם־ve.'im-H518he hasH369noH369brothersאַחִ֑ים'a.ChimH251,then you shall giveוּנְתַתֶּ֥םu.ne.ta.TemH5414his inheritanceנַחֲלָת֖וֹna.cha.la.ToH5159to his father’sאָבִֽיו׃'a.VivH1brothersלַאֲחֵ֥יla.'a.CheiH251.

11Ifוְאִם־ve.'im-H518his fatherלְאָבִיו֒le.'a.VivH1hasH369noH369brothersאַחִים֮'a.ChimH251,then you shall giveוּנְתַתֶּ֣םu.ne.ta.TemH5414his inheritanceנַחֲלָת֗וֹna.cha.la.ToH5159to his nearestהַקָּרֹ֥בha.ka.RoH7138relativeלִשְׁאֵר֞וֹlish.'e.RoH7607in his own familyמִמִּשְׁפַּחְתּ֖וֹmi.mish.pach.ToH4940,and he shall possessוְיָרַ֣שׁve.ya.RashH3423it; and it shall be astatutoryלְחֻקַּ֣תle.chu.KatH2708ordinanceמִשְׁפָּ֔טmish.PatH4941to the sonsלִבְנֵ֤יliv.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478,justH3512as the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068commandedצִוָּ֥הtzi.VahH6680Mosesמֹשֶֽׁה׃ סmo.ShehH4872.’”

12Then the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872, “Goעֲלֵ֛ה'a.LehH5927up to thisהַזֶּ֑הha.ZehH2088mountainהַ֥רharH2022of Abarimהָעֲבָרִ֖יםha.'a.va.RimH5682,and seeוּרְאֵה֙u.re.'EhH7200the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834I have givenנָתַ֖תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414to the sonsלִבְנֵ֥יliv.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

13When you have seenוְרָאִ֣יתָהve.ra.'I.tahH7200it, you tooגַּם־gam-H1571will be gatheredH622to your peopleעַמֶּ֖יךָ'a.Mei.khaH5971,as Aaronאַהֲרֹ֥ן'a.ha.RonH175your brotherאָחִֽיךָ׃'a.Chi.khaH251was;

14for in the wildernessבְּמִדְבַּר־be.mid.bar-H4057of Zinצִ֗ןTzinH6790,during the strifeבִּמְרִיבַת֙bim.ri.VatH4808of the congregationהָֽעֵדָ֔הha.'e.DahH5712,you rebelledמְרִיתֶ֨םme.ri.TemH4784againstH854Mycommandפִּ֜יpiH6310to treatלְהַקְדִּישֵׁ֥נִיle.hak.di.She.niH6942Me as holyH6942beforeH6440their eyesלְעֵינֵיהֶ֑םle.'ei.nei.HemH5869at the waterבַמַּ֖יִםva.Ma.yimH4325.” (Theseהֵ֛םhemH1992are the watersמֵֽי־mei-H4325of Meribahמְרִיבַ֥תme.ri.VatH4809of Kadeshקָדֵ֖שׁka.DeshH6946in the wildernessמִדְבַּר־mid.bar-H4057of Zinצִֽן׃ פTzinH6790.)

15Then Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872spokeוַיְדַבֵּ֣רvay.da.BerH1696to the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

16“May the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֥י'e.lo.HeiH430of the spiritsהָרוּחֹ֖תha.ru.ChotH7307of allלְכָל־le.kholH3605fleshבָּשָׂ֑רba.SarH1320,appointיִפְקֹ֣דyif.KodH6485a manאִ֖ישׁ'ishH376overעַל־'al-H5921the congregationהָעֵדָֽה׃ha.'e.DahH5712,

17whoH834will goיֵצֵ֣אye.Tze'H3318outand comeיָבֹא֙ya.Vo'H935in beforeH6440them, and whoH834will leadיוֹצִיאֵ֖םyo.tzi.'EmH3318them out andbringיְבִיאֵ֑םye.vi.'EmH935them in, so that the congregationעֲדַ֣ת'a.DatH5712of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068will not belike sheepכַּצֹּ֕אןka.TzonH6629whichH834haveH369noH369shepherdרֹעֶֽה׃ro.'EhH7462.”

18So the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Mosesמֹשֶׁ֗הmo.ShehH4872, “Takeקַח־kach-H3947Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֣עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091the sonבִּן־bin-H1121of Nunנ֔וּןNunH5126,a manאִ֖ישׁ'ishH376in whomאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834is the Spiritר֣וּחַRu.achH7307, andlayוְסָמַכְתָּ֥ve.sa.makh.TaH5564your handיָדְךָ֖ya.de.KhaH3027on him;

19and have him standוְהַֽעֲמַדְתָּ֣ve.ha.'a.mad.TaH5975beforeלִפְנֵי֙lif.NeiH6440Eleazarאֶלְעָזָ֣ר'el.'a.ZarH499the priestהַכֹּהֵ֔ןha.ko.HenH3548and beforeוְלִפְנֵ֖יve.lif.NeiH6440allכָּל־kol-H3605the congregationהָעֵדָ֑הha.'e.DahH5712, andcommissionוְצִוִּיתָ֥הve.tzi.vi.TahH6680him in their sightלְעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃le.'ei.nei.HemH5869.

20You shall putוְנָתַתָּ֥הve.na.ta.TahH5414someH4480of yourauthorityמֵהֽוֹדְךָ֖me.hod.KhaH1935on him, in orderלְמַ֣עַןle.Ma.'anH4616that allכָּל־kol-H3605the congregationעֲדַ֖ת'a.DatH5712of the sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478may obeyיִשְׁמְע֔וּyish.me.'UH8085him.

21Moreover, he shall standיַעֲמֹ֔דya.'a.ModH5975beforeוְלִפְנֵ֨יve.lif.NeiH6440Eleazarאֶלְעָזָ֤ר'el.'a.ZarH499the priestהַכֹּהֵן֙ha.ko.HenH3548,who shall inquireוְשָׁ֥אַלve.Sha.'alH7592for himby the judgmentבְּמִשְׁפַּ֥טbe.mish.PatH4941of the Urimהָאוּרִ֖יםha.'u.RimH224beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068. At hiscommandפִּ֨יוpivH6310they shall goיֵצְא֜וּye.tze.'UH3318out and at hiscommandפִּ֣יוpivH6310they shall comeיָבֹ֗אוּya.Vo.'uH935in, bothhe and the sonsבְּנֵי־be.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֥לYis.ra.'ElH3478with him, even allH3605the congregationהָעֵדָֽה׃ha.'e.DahH5712.”

22Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872didוַיַּ֣עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213justH3512as the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068commandedצִוָּ֥הtzi.VahH6680him; and he tookוַיִּקַּ֣חvai.yi.KachH3947Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֗עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091and setוַיַּֽעֲמִדֵ֙הוּ֙vai.ya.'a.mi.De.huH5975him beforeלִפְנֵי֙lif.NeiH6440Eleazarאֶלְעָזָ֣ר'el.'a.ZarH499the priestהַכֹּהֵ֔ןha.ko.HenH3548and beforeוְלִפְנֵ֖יve.lif.NeiH6440allכָּל־kol-H3605the congregationהָעֵדָֽה׃ha.'e.DahH5712.
