23“For thisτοῦτοtoutoG3778reasonΔιὰDiaG1223the kingdomβασιλείαbasileiaG932of heavenοὐρανῶνouranōnG3772may be comparedὡμοιώθηhōmoiōthēG3666to a kingβασιλεῖbasileiG935whoὃςhosG3739wishedἠθέλησενēthelēsenG2309tosettleσυνᾶραιsunaraiG4868accountsλόγονlogonG3056with his slavesδούλωνdoulōnG1401.

24When he had begunἀρξαμένουarxamenouG757to settleσυναίρεινsunaireinG4868them,oneεἷςheisG1520who owedὀφειλέτηςopheiletēsG3781himtenμυρίωνmuriōnG3463thousandG3463talentsταλάντων.talantōnG5007was broughtG4317to him.

25But since hedid not haveἔχοντοςechontosG2192the meansto repayG591,his lordκύριοςkuriosG2962commandedἐκέλευσενekeleusenG2753himto be soldπραθῆναιprathēnaiG4097,alongG2532with his wifeγυναῖκαgunaikaG1135and childrenτέκναteknaG5043and allπάνταpantaG3956that he hadἔχειecheiG2192,and repaymentG591to be madeG591.

26SoοὖνounG3767the slaveδοῦλοςdoulosG1401fellΠεσὼνPesōnG4098to the ground andprostratedG4352himselfG4352beforeG4352him, sayingλέγων·legōnG3004, ‘HaveG3114patienceμακροθύμησονmakrothumēsonG3114with me and I will repayἀποδώσωapodōsōG591you everythingπάνταpantaG3956.’

27And the lordκύριοςkuriosG2962of that slaveδούλουdoulouG1401feltG4697compassionΣπλαγχνισθεὶςSplagchnistheisG4697and releasedἀπέλυσενapelusenG630him andforgaveἀφῆκενaphēkenG863him thedebtδάνειονdaneionG1156.

28But that slaveδοῦλοςdoulosG1401wentἐξελθὼνexelthōnG1831out and foundεὗρενheurenG2147oneἕναhenaG1520of his fellowσυνδούλωνsundoulōnG4889slavesG4889whoὃςhosG3739owedὤφειλενōpheilenG3784him a hundredἑκατὸνhekatonG1540denariiδηνάρια,dēnariaG1220;and he seizedκρατήσαςkratēsasG2902him and beganto chokeἔπνιγενepnigenG4155him,sayingλέγων·legōnG3004, ‘PayἀπόδοςapodosG591backG591whatG5101you oweὀφείλεις.opheileisG3784.’

29SoοὖνounG3767his fellowσύνδουλοςsundoulosG4889slaveG4889fellπεσὼνpesōnG4098to the ground and beganto pleadπαρεκάλειparekaleiG3870with him, sayingλέγων·legōnG3004, ‘HaveG3114patienceμακροθύμησονmakrothumēsonG3114with me and I will repayἀποδώσωapodōsōG591you.’

30But he was unwillingοὐκ ἤθελεν,ouk ēthelenG3756 G2309and wentἀπελθὼνapelthōnG565and threwἔβαλενebalenG906him in prisonφυλακὴνphulakēnG5438untilἕωςhe'ōsG2193he should payἀποδῷapodōG591backG591whatG3588was owedὀφειλόμενον.¶opheilomenonG3784.

31SoοὖνounG3767when his fellowσύνδουλοιsundouloiG4889slavesG4889sawG3708whatG3588had happenedγενόμεναgenomenaG1096,they were deeplyσφόδρα,sphodraG4970grievedἐλυπήθησανelupēthēsanG3076and cameἐλθόντεςelthontesG2064and reportedδιεσάφησανdiesaphēsanG1285to their lordκυρίῳkuriōG2962allπάνταpantaG3956that had happenedγενόμενα.¶genomenaG1096.

32ThenΤότεToteG5119summoningπροσκαλεσάμενοςproskalesamenosG4341him, his lordκύριοςkuriosG2962saidλέγειlegeiG3004to him, ‘You wickedπονηρέ,ponēreG4190slaveδοῦλεdouleG1401,I forgaveἀφῆκάaphēkaG863you allπᾶσανpasanG3956that debtὀφειλὴνopheilēnG3782becauseἐπεὶepeiG1893you pleadedπαρεκάλεσάςparekalesasG3870with me.

33ShouldἔδειedeiG1163you not alsoG2532have hadG1653mercyG1653on your fellowσύνδουλόνsundoulonG4889slaveG4889,in the sameG5613wayG5613that I hadG1653mercyG1653on you?’

34And his lordκύριοςkuriosG2962,movedG3710with angerG3710,handedG3860him overG3860to the torturersβασανισταῖςbasanistaisG930untilἕωςhe'ōsG2193he should repayἀποδῷapodōG591allπᾶνpanG3956that was owedὀφειλόμενονopheilomenonG3784him.

35My heavenlyοὐράνιοςouraniosG3770FatherπατήρpatērG3962will alsoκαὶkaiG2532doποιήσειpoiēseiG4160the sameοὕτωςhoutōsG3779to you, ifἐὰνeanG1437eachἕκαστοςhekastosG1538of you does not forgiveἀφῆτεaphēteG863his brotherἀδελφῷadelphōG80fromyour heartκαρδιῶνkardiōnG2588.”
