31And He beganἤρξατοērxatoG757to teachδιδάσκεινdidaskeinG1321them thatthe SonυἱὸνhuionG5207of ManἀνθρώπουanthrōpouG444mustδεῖdeiG1163sufferπαθεῖνpatheinG3958manyπολλὰpollaG4183thingsG4183and be rejectedἀποδοκιμασθῆναιapodokimasthēnaiG593by the eldersπρεσβυτέρωνpresbuterōnG4245and the chiefἀρχιερέωνarchiereōnG749priestsG749and the scribesγραμματέωνgrammateōnG1122,and be killedἀποκτανθῆναιapoktanthēnaiG615,and afterμετὰmetaG3326threeτρεῖςtreisG5140daysἡμέραςhēmerasG2250riseἀναστῆναι·anastēnaiG450againG450.
33But turningἐπιστραφεὶςepistrapheisG1994aroundG1994and seeingG3708His disciplesμαθητὰςmathētasG3101,He rebukedἐπετίμησενepetimēsenG2008PeterΠέτρῳPetrōG4074and saidλέγει·legeiG3004,“GetὕπαγεhupageG5217behindὀπίσωopisōG3694Me,Satanσατανᾶ,satanaG4567;for you are not settingG5426your mindφρονεῖςphroneisG5426onGod’sθεοῦtheouG2316interests, but man’sἀνθρώπων.anthrōpōnG444.”
34And He summonedπροσκαλεσάμενοςproskalesamenosG4341the crowdὄχλονochlonG3793with His disciplesμαθηταῖςmathētaisG3101,and saidG3004to them,“IfεἴeiG1487anyoneτιςtisG5100wishesθέλειtheleiG2309to comeG2064afterὀπίσωopisōG3694Me, he must denyἀπαρνησάσθωaparnēsasthōG533himselfἑαυτὸνhe'autonG1438, andtakeἀράτωaratōG142up his crossσταυρὸνstauronG4716and followG190Me.
38Forwhoeverὃς ἐὰνhos eanG3739G1437is ashamedἐπαισχυνθῇepaischunthēaG1870of Me and My wordsλόγουςlogousG3056in thisταύτῃtautēG3778adulterousμοιχαλίδιmoichalidiG3428and sinfulἁμαρτωλῷ,hamartōlōG268generationγενεᾷgeneaG1074,the SonυἱὸςhuiosG5207of ManἀνθρώπουanthrōpouG444will alsoG2532be ashamedἐπαισχυνθήσεταιepaischunthēsetaiG1870of him whenὅτανhotanG3752HecomesἔλθῃelthēG2064in the gloryδόξῃdoxēG1391of His FatherπατρὸςpatrosG3962with the holyἁγίων.¶hagiōnG40angelsἀγγέλωνangelōnG32.”
