17For you knowG3609that evenκαὶkaiG2532afterwardsμετέπειταmetepeitaG3347,when he desiredθέλωνthelōnG2309to inheritκληρονομῆσαιklēronomēsaiG2816the blessingεὐλογίανeulogianG2129,he was rejectedἀπεδοκιμάσθη·apedokimasthēG593,for he foundεὗρενheurenG2147noοὐχouchG3756placeτόπονtoponG5117for repentanceμετανοίαςmetanoiasG3341,thoughκαίπερkaiperG2539he soughtἐκζητήσαςekzētēsasG1567for it with tearsδακρύωνdakruōnG1144.

18For you have not comeπροσεληλύθατεproselēluthateG4334to a mountainthat can be touchedψηλαφωμένῳpsēlaphōmenōG5584and to a blazingκεκαυμένῳkekaumenōG2545fireπυρὶpuriG4442,and to darknessγνόφῳgnophōG1105and gloomζόφῳzophōG2217and whirlwindθυέλλῃthuellēG2366,

19and to theblastἤχῳēchōG2279of a trumpetσάλπιγγοςsalpingosG4536and thesoundφωνῇphōnēaG5456of wordsῥημάτων,rhēmatōnG4487whichἧςhēsG3739sound was such thatthoseοἱhoiG3588who heardἀκούσαντεςakousantesG191beggedπαρῃτήσαντοparētēsantoG3868that noμὴmēG3361furtherG4369wordλόγον·logonG3056be spokenG4369to them.

20For they could not bearἔφερονepheronG5342the commandδιαστελλόμενον·diastellomenonG1291, “IfG2579evenG2579a beastθηρίονthērionG2342touchesθίγῃthigēG2345the mountainὄρους,orousG3735,it will be stonedλιθοβοληθήσεταιlithobolēthēsetaiG3036.”

21And soοὕτωhoutōG3779terribleφοβερὸνphoberonG5398was the sightφανταζόμενον,phantazomenonG5324, thatMosesΜωϋσῆςMōusēsG3475saidG3004, “I amG1510fullG1630of fearG1630and tremblingἔντρομος·entromosG1790.”
