10The one who lovesἀγαπῶνagapōnG25his brotherἀδελφὸνadelphonG80abidesμένειmeneiG3306in the LightφωτὶphōtiG5457and there is noοὐκoukG3756causeG4625for stumblingG4625in him.

11But the one whohatesμισῶνmisōnG3404his brotherἀδελφὸνadelphonG80is in the darknessσκοτίᾳskotiaG4653andwalksπεριπατεῖperipateiG4043in the darknessσκοτίᾳskotiaG4653,and does not knowG3609whereποῦpouG4226he is goingὑπάγει,hupageiG5217becauseὅτιhotiG3754the darknessσκοτίαskotiaG4653hasblindedἐτύφλωσενetuphlōsenG5186his eyesὀφθαλμοὺςophthalmousG3788.

16For allπᾶνpanG3956that is in the worldκόσμῳ,kosmōG2889,the lustἐπιθυμίαepithumiaG1939of the fleshσαρκὸςsarkosG4561andthe lustἐπιθυμίαepithumiaG1939of the eyesὀφθαλμῶνophthalmōnG3788andthe boastfulG212prideG212of lifeβίου,biouG979,is not from the FatherπατρὸςpatrosG3962,but is from the worldκόσμουkosmouG2889.

17The worldκόσμοςkosmosG2889is passingG3855awayπαράγεταιparagetaiG3855, and alsoits lustsἐπιθυμίαepithumiaG1939; but the one whodoesποιῶνpoiōnG4160the willθέλημαthelēmaG2307of GodθεοῦtheouG2316livesμένειmeneiG3306foreverαἰῶνα.¶aiōnaG165.
