Daniel 6:12-15

ThenH116 they came near, and spoke before the king concerning the king's decree: Hast thou not signed a decree, that every manH1400 that shall ask [anything] of any 1godH426 or manH1400 within thirty days, except of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which may not be revoked.

ThenH116 they answered and saidH560 before the kingH4430, That Daniel, who is of the children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O kingH4430, nor the decreeH1882 that thou hast signedH7560, but maketh his petition three times a dayH3118.

ThenH116 the kingH4430, when he heard these words, was sore distressed thereby, and setH7761 his heart on DanielH1841 to save him; and he laboured till the going down of the sun to deliver him.

ThenH116 these men came in a body unto the kingH4430, and said unto the kingH4430, Know, O kingH4430, that the law of the Medes and Persians is, That no decree nor statute which the kingH4430 establisheth may be changed.
