Daniel 2:24-45

Therefore DanielH1841 went in unto AriochH746, whom the kingH4430 had appointedH4483 to destroyH7 the wiseH2445 men of BabylonH895; he went and saidH560 thus unto him: DestroyH7 not the wiseH2445 men of BabylonH895; bringH5954 me in before the kingH4430, and I will shew unto the kingH4430 the interpretationH6591.

ThenH116 AriochH746 broughtH5954 in DanielH1841 before the kingH4430 in hasteH927, and saidH560 thus unto him: I have foundH7912 a manH1400 of the sons of the captivity of JudahH3061 that will makeH3046 knownH3046 unto the kingH4430 the interpretationH6591.

The kingH4430 answered and saidH560 unto DanielH1841, whose nameH8036 was BelteshazzarH1096, Art thou ableH3546 to makeH3046 knownH3046 unto me the dreamH2493 that I have seenH2370, and its interpretationH6591?

DanielH1841 answered in the presence of the kingH4430 and saidH560, The secret that the kingH4430 hath demanded cannot the wiseH2445 men, the magiciansH2749, the scribes, the astrologers, shew unto the kingH4430;

but there is a 1GodH426 in the heavensH8065, who revealeth secrets, and maketh knownH3046 to kingH4430 NebuchadnezzarH5020 what shall be at the end of daysH3118. Thy dreamH2493, and the visionsH2376 of thy headH7217 upon thy bedH4903 are these:

— as for thee, O kingH4430, thy thoughtsH7476 arose upon thy bedH4903, what should come to pass hereafter; and he that revealeth secrets hath madeH3046 knownH3046 to thee what shall come to pass.

And as for me, this secret is revealedH1541 to me, not by [any] wisdomH2452 that I have moreH4481 than any living, but to the intent that the interpretationH6591 should be madeH3046 knownH3046 to the kingH4430, and that thou mightest knowH3046 the thoughtsH7476 of thy heartH3825.

Thou, O kingH4430, sawest, and behold, a greatH7229 imageH6755. This imageH6755 was mighty and its brightness excellent; it stoodH6966 before thee, and its appearanceH7299 was terrible.

This image's headH7217 was of fine goldH1722, its breast and its arms of silverH3702, its belly and its thighs of brass,

its legs of ironH6523, its feet part of ironH6523 and part of clayH2635.

Thou sawest till a stoneH69 was cutH1505 out without handsH3028; and it smote the imageH6755 upon its feet of ironH6523 and clayH2635, and broke them to pieces.

ThenH116 was the ironH6523, the clayH2635, the brass, the silverH3702, and the goldH1722 broken in pieces together, and they became like the chaff of the summer threshing-floors; and the wind carried them away, and no place was foundH7912 for them. And the stoneH69 that smote the imageH6755 became a greatH7229 mountain, and filledH4391 the whole earthH772.

This is the dreamH2493; and we will tellH560 the interpretationH6591 of it before the kingH4430.

Thou, O kingH4430, art a kingH4430 of kingsH4430, unto whom the 2GodH426 of the heavensH8065 hath given the kingdomH4437, the powerH2632, and the strength, and the glory;

and wheresoever the children of menH606, the beastsH2423 of the fieldH1251, and the fowl of the heavensH8065 dwellH1753, he hath given them into thy handH3028, and hath made thee rulerH7981 over them all: thou art this headH7217 of goldH1722.

And after thee shall ariseH6966 another kingdomH4437 inferior to thee; then another thirdH8523 kingdomH4437 of brass, which shall bear ruleH7981 over all the earthH772.

And the fourthH7244 kingdomH4437 shall be strongH8624 as ironH6523: forasmuch as ironH6523 breaketh in pieces and subdueth everything, and as ironH6523 that breaketh all these, so shall it break in pieces and bruise.

And whereas thou sawest the feet and toesH677, part of potter's clayH2635, and part of ironH6523, the kingdomH4437 shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the ironH6523, forasmuch as thou sawest the ironH6523 mixedH6151 with miry clayH2635.

And [as] the toesH677 of the feet were part of ironH6523 and part of clayH2635, the kingdomH4437 shall be partly strongH8624 and partly fragile.

And whereas thou sawest the ironH6523 mixedH6151 with miry clayH2635, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of menH606; but they shall not cleave one to another, even as ironH6523 doth not mingle with clayH2635.

And in the daysH3118 of these kingsH4430 shall the 3GodH426 of the heavensH8065 setH6966 up a kingdomH4437 which shall never be destroyedH2255; and the sovereignty thereof shall not be leftH7662 to another peopleH5972: it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdomsH4437, but itself shall standH6966 for everH5957.

Forasmuch as thou sawest that a stoneH69 was cutH1505 out of the mountain without handsH3028, and that it broke in pieces the ironH6523, the brass, the clayH2635, the silverH3702, and the goldH1722, — the greatH7229 4GodH426 hath madeH3046 knownH3046 to the kingH4430 what shall come to pass hereafter. And the dreamH2493 is certain, and the interpretationH6591 of it sure.
