1 Peter 2:18-25 18 Servants, [ be ] subject ὑποτασσόμενοι hupotassomenoi G5293 with all fear φόβῳ phobō G5401 to your masters δεσπόταις, despotais G1203 , not only G3440 to the good ἀγαθοῖς agathois G18 and gentle ἐπιεικέσιν, epieikesin G1933 , but also G2532 to the ill-tempered. 19 For this [ is ] acceptable, if one G5100 , for conscience συνείδησιν suneidēsin G4893 sake διὰ dia G1223 towards God θεοῦ theou G2316 , endure griefs, suffering πάσχων paschōn G3958 unjustly . 20 For what glory [ is it ], if sinning ἁμαρτάνοντες hamartanontes G264 and being buffeted ye shall bear [ it ]? but if , doing good ἀγαθοποιοῦντες agathopoiountes G15 and suffering πάσχοντες paschontes G3958 , ye shall bear [ it ], this is acceptable with God θεῷ. theō G2316 . 21 For to this have ye been called ἐκλήθητε, eklēthēte G2564 ; for Christ Χριστὸς Christos G5547 also καὶ kai G2532 has suffered ἔπαθεν epathen G3958 for you , leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps ἴχνεσιν ichnesin G2487 : 22 who did no sin ἁμαρτίαν hamartian G266 , neither was guile found G2147 in his mouth στόματι stomati G4750 ; 23 who , [ when ] reviled , reviled not again; [ when ] suffering πάσχων paschōn G3958 , threatened not ; but gave [himself] over into the hands G3860 of him who judges G2919 righteously G1346 ; 24 who himself bore our sins ἁμαρτίας hamartias G266 in his body σώματι sōmati G4983 on the tree ξύλον xulon G3586 , in order G2443 that , being dead to sins ἁμαρτίαις hamartiais G266 , we may live ζήσωμεν· zēsōmen G2198 to righteousness δικαιοσύνῃ dikaiosunē G1343 : by whose stripes ye have been healed ἰάθητε. iathēte G2390 . 25 For ye were G1510 going astray πλανώμενοι planōmenoi G4105 as sheep πρόβατα probata G4263 , but have now νῦν nun G3568 returned ἐπεστράφητε epestraphēte G1994 to the shepherd ποιμένα poimena G4166 and overseer ἐπίσκοπον episkopon G1985 of your souls ψυχῶν psuchōn G5590 .
