Deuteronomy 18:9-22

9WhenH3588 youH859 enterH935H413 the landH776 thatH834 the LORDH3068 your GodH430 is givingH5414 you, do notH3808H3925 imitateH6213 the detestable waysH8441 of the nationsH1471 thereH1992. 10Let no oneH3808 be foundH4672 among you who sacrificesH5674 his sonH1121 or daughterH1323 in the fireH784,1 practices divinationH7081H7080 or conjuryH6049, interprets omensH5172, practices sorceryH3784, 11casts spellsH2266H2267, consultsH7592 a mediumH178 or spiritistH3049, or inquiresH1875 ofH413 the deadH4191. 12For whoeverH3605 doesH6213 these thingsH428 is detestableH8441 to the LORDH3068. And becauseH1558 of theseH428 detestable thingsH8441, the LORDH3068 your GodH430 is driving outH3423 the nations before youH6440.

13You must beH1961 blamelessH8549 beforeH5973 the LORDH3068 your GodH430. 14ThoughH3588 theseH428 nationsH1471, whichH834 youH859 will dispossessH3423, listenH8085H859 toH413 conjurersH6049H413 and divinersH7080, the LORDH3068 your GodH430 has notH3808 permitted youH5414 to do soH3651.

15The LORDH3068 your GodH430 will raise upH6965 for you a prophetH5030 like meH3644 from amongH7130 your brothersH251. You must listenH8085 to himH413.2 16This is whatH3605 you askedH7592 ofH5973 the LORDH3068 your GodH430 at HorebH27223 on the dayH3117 of the assemblyH6951, when you saidH559, “Let us notH3808 hearH8085 the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068 our GodH430 or seeH7200 thisH2063 greatH1419 fireH784 anymoreH5750, so that we will notH3808 dieH4191!”

17Then the LORDH3068 saidH559 to meH413, “They have spokenH1696 wellH3190. 18I will raise upH6965 for them a prophetH5030 like youH3644 from amongH7130 their brothersH251. I will putH5414 My wordsH1697 in his mouthH6310, and he will tellH1696 themH413 everythingH3605 I command himH6680. 19And IH595 will hold accountableH1875H5973 anyoneH376 whoH834 does notH3808 listenH8085 toH413 My wordsH1697 thatH834 the prophet speaksH1696 in My nameH8034.4 20ButH389 if any prophetH5030 daresH2102 to speakH1696 a messageH1697 in My nameH8034 thatH834 I have notH3808 commanded himH6680 to speakH1696, or to speakH1696 in the nameH8034 of otherH312 godsH430, thatH1931 prophetH5030 must be put to deathH4191.”

You may askH559 in your heartH3824, “HowH349 can we recognizeH3045 a messageH1697 thatH834 the LORDH3068 has notH3808 spokenH1696?” 22WhenH834 a prophetH5030 speaksH1696 in the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068 and the messageH1697 does notH3808 come to passH1961 or come trueH935, thatH1931 is a messageH1697 the LORDH3068 has notH3808 spokenH1696. The prophetH5030 has spokenH1696 presumptuouslyH2087. Do notH3808 be afraidH1481 of himH4480.
