16But when Uzziah became powerfulוּכְחֶזְקָת֗וֹu.khe.chez.ka.ToH2393,his arroganceגָּבַ֤הּ לִבּוֹ֙ga.Vah li.BoH1361 H3820עַד־'ad-H5704led to his own destructionלְהַשְׁחִ֔יתle.hash.ChitH7843.He was unfaithfulוַיִּמְעַ֖לvai.yim.'AlH4603to the LORDבַּיהוָ֣הba.Yah.wehH3068his Godאֱלֹהָ֑יו'e.lo.HavH430,for he enteredוַיָּבֹא֙ אֶל־vai.ya.Vo' 'el-H935 H413the templeהֵיכַ֣לhei.KhalH1964of the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068to burn incenseלְהַקְטִ֖ירle.hak.TirH6999onעַל־'al-H5921the altarמִזְבַּ֥חmiz.BachH4196of incenseהַקְּטֹֽרֶת׃ha.ke.To.retH7004.

17Then Azariahעֲזַרְיָ֣הוּ'a.zar.Ya.huH5838the priestהַכֹּהֵ֑ןha.ko.HenH3548,along withוְעִמּ֞וֹve.'i.MoH5973eightyשְׁמוֹנִ֖ים בְּנֵי־she.mo.Nim be.nei-H8084 H1121braveחָֽיִל׃Cha.yilH2428priestsכֹּהֲנִ֧ים׀ko.ha.NimH3548of the LORDלַיהוָ֛הla.Yah.wehH3068,went inוַיָּבֹ֥אvai.ya.Vo'H935after himאַחֲרָ֖יו'a.cha.RavH310.

18They took their standוַיַּעַמְד֞וּvai.ya.'am.DuH5975againstעַל־'al-H5921Kingהַמֶּ֗לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Uzziahעֻזִּיָּ֣הוּ'u.zi.Ya.huH5818and saidוַיֹּ֤אמְרוּvai.Yo.me.ruH559, “Uzziahעֻזִּיָּ֗הוּ'u.zi.Ya.huH5818,you have noלֹא־lo'-H3808right to offer incenseלְהַקְטִיר֙le.hak.TirH6999to the LORDלַֽיהוָ֔הla.Yah.wehH3068.Onlyכִּ֣יkiH3588the priestsלַכֹּהֲנִ֧יםla.ko.ha.NimH3548,the descendantsבְּנֵי־be.nei-H1121of Aaronאַהֲרֹ֛ן'a.ha.RonH175,are consecratedהַמְקֻדָּשִׁ֖יםham.ku.da.ShimH6942to burn incenseלְהַקְטִ֑ירle.hak.TirH6999.Leaveצֵ֤אtze'H3318מִן־min-H4480the sanctuaryהַמִּקְדָּשׁ֙ha.mik.DashH4720,forכִּ֣יkiH3588you have acted unfaithfullyמָעַ֔לְתָּma.'Al.taH4603;you will notוְלֹֽא־ve.lo'-H3808receive honorלְכָב֖וֹדle.kha.VodH3519from the LORDמֵיְהוָ֥הme.Yah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהִֽים׃'E.lo.HimH430.”

19Uzziahעֻזִּיָּ֔הוּ'u.zi.Ya.huH5818,with a censerמִקְטֶ֖רֶתmik.Te.retH4730in his handוּבְיָד֥וֹu.ve.ya.DoH3027to offer incenseלְהַקְטִ֑ירle.hak.TirH6999,was enragedוַיִּזְעַף֙vai.yiz.'AfH2196.But while he ragedוּבְזַעְפּ֣וֹu.ve.za'.PoH2196againstעִם־'im-H5973the priestsהַכֹּהֲנִ֗יםha.ko.ha.NimH3548in their presenceלִפְנֵ֤י הַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙lif.Nei ha.ko.ha.NimH6440 H3548in the houseבְּבֵ֣יתbe.VeitH1004of the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068beforeמֵעַ֖לme.'AlH5921the altarלְמִזְבַּ֥חle.miz.BachH4196of incenseהַקְּטֹֽרֶת׃ha.ke.To.retH7004,leprosyוְ֠הַצָּרַעַתVe.ha.tza.ra.'atH6883broke outזָרְחָ֨הza.re.ChahH2224on his foreheadבְמִצְח֜וֹve.mitz.ChoH4696.

20When Azariahעֲזַרְיָהוּ֩'a.zar.ya.HuH5838the chiefהָרֹ֜אשׁha.RoshH7218priestכֹהֵ֨ןkho.HenH3548and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the priestsהַכֹּהֲנִ֗יםha.ko.ha.NimH3548turnedוַיִּ֣פֶןvai.Yi.fenH6437to himאֵלָ֡יו'e.LavH413and sawוְהִנֵּה־ve.hi.neh-H2009hisה֤וּאhu'H1931leprousמְצֹרָע֙me.tzo.Ra'H6879foreheadבְּמִצְח֔וֹbe.mitz.ChoH4696,they rushed himוַיַּבְהִל֖וּהוּvai.yav.hi.Lu.huH926outמִשָּׁ֑םmi.ShamH8033.Indeedוְגַם־ve.gam-H1571,he himselfהוּא֙hu'H1931hurriedנִדְחַ֣ףnid.ChafH1765to get outלָצֵ֔אתla.TzetH3318,becauseכִּ֥יkiH3588the LORDיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068had afflicted himנִגְּע֖וֹni.ge.'OH5060.

21So Kingהַמֶּ֜לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Uzziahעֻזִּיָּ֨הוּ'u.zi.Ya.huH5818wasוַיְהִי֩vay.HiH1961a leperמְצֹרָ֣ע׀me.tzo.Ra'H6879untilעַד־'ad-H5704the dayי֣וֹםYomH3117of his deathמוֹת֗וֹmo.ToH4194.He livedוַיֵּ֜שֶׁבvai.Ye.shevH3427in isolationבֵּ֤ית הַֽחָפְשִׁית֙beit ha.cha.fe.shutH1004 H2669,leprousמְצֹרָ֔עme.tzo.Ra'H6879andכִּ֥יkiH3588cut offנִגְזַ֖רnig.ZarH1504from the houseמִבֵּ֣יתmi.BeitH1004of the LORDיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,while his sonבְּנוֹ֙be.NoH1121Jothamוְיוֹתָ֤םve.yo.TamH3147had chargeעַל־'al-H5921of the royalהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428palaceבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004andgovernedשׁוֹפֵ֖טsho.FetH8199אֶת־'et-H853the peopleעַ֥ם'amH5971of the landהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776.
