Joshua 11
American Standard Version
1And it came to pass, when JabinH2985 kingH4428 of HazorH2674 heardH8085 thereof, that he sentH7971 to JobabH3103 kingH4428 of MadonH4068, and to the kingH4428 of ShimronH8110, and to the kingH4428 of Achshaph, 2and to the kingsH4428 that were on the northH6828, in the hill-country, and in the ArabahH6160 southH5045 of Chinneroth, and in the lowland, and in the heights of DorH1756 on the westH3220, 3to the CanaaniteH3669 on the eastH4217 and on the westH3220, and the AmoriteH567, and the HittiteH2850, and the PerizziteH6522, and the JebusiteH2983 in the hill-country, and the HiviteH2340 under HermonH2768 in the landH776 of MizpahH4709. 4And they wentH3318 out, they and all their hosts with them, much peopleH5971, even as the sandH2344 that is upon the sea-shore in multitudeH7230, with horsesH5483 and chariotsH7393 veryH3966 manyH7227. 5And all these kingsH4428 met togetherH3162; and they cameH935 and encampedH2583 togetherH3162 at the watersH4325 of MeromH4792, to fightH3898 with IsraelH3478.
6And Jehovah saidH559 unto JoshuaH3091, Be not afraidH3372 because of them; for to-morrow at this timeH6256 will I deliver them up all slainH2491 before IsraelH3478: thou shalt hock their horsesH5483, and burnH8313 their chariotsH4818 with fireH784. 7So JoshuaH3091 cameH935, and all the peopleH5971 of warH4421 with him, against them by the watersH4325 of MeromH4792 suddenlyH6597, and fellH5307 upon them. 8And Jehovah delivered them into the handH3027 of IsraelH3478, and they smote them, and chased them unto greatH7227 SidonH6721, and unto Misrephoth-maimH4956, and unto the valleyH1237 of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them, until they leftH7604 them none remainingH7604. 9And JoshuaH3091 did unto them as Jehovah bade him: he hocked their horsesH5483, and burnt their chariotsH4818 with fireH784.
10And JoshuaH3091 turnedH7725 backH7725 at that timeH6256, and tookH3920 HazorH2674, and smote the kingH4428 thereof with the swordH2719: for HazorH2674 beforetime was the headH7218 of all those kingdomsH4467. 11And they smote all the soulsH5315 that were therein with the edge of the swordH2719, utterly destroying them; there was none leftH3498 that breathed: and he burntH8313 HazorH2674 with fireH784. 12And all the citiesH5892 of those kingsH4428, and all the kingsH4428 of them, did JoshuaH3091 takeH3920, and he smote them with the edge of the swordH2719, and utterly destroyed them; as MosesH4872 the servantH5650 of Jehovah commandedH6680. 13But as for the citiesH5892 that stoodH5975 on their moundsH8510, IsraelH3478 burnedH8313 none of them, save HazorH2674 onlyH7535; that did JoshuaH3091 burnH8313. 14And all the spoilH7998 of these citiesH5892, and the cattleH929, the children of IsraelH3478 took for a prey unto themselves; but every manH120 they smote with the edge of the swordH2719, until they had destroyedH8045 them, neither leftH7604 they any that breathed. 15As Jehovah commandedH6680 MosesH4872 his servantH5650, soH3651 did MosesH4872 commandH6680 JoshuaH3091: and soH3651 did JoshuaH3091; he left nothing undone of all that Jehovah commandedH6680 MosesH4872.
16So JoshuaH3091 tookH3947 all that landH776, the hill-country, and all the SouthH5045, and all the landH776 of GoshenH1657, and the lowland, and the ArabahH6160, and the hill-country of IsraelH3478, and the lowland of the same; 17from mount HalakH2510, that goeth up to SeirH8165, even unto Baal-gadH1171 in the valleyH1237 of LebanonH3844 under mount HermonH2768: and all their kingsH4428 he tookH3920, and smote them, and putH4191 them to deathH4191. 18JoshuaH3091 madeH6213 warH4421 a long time with all those kingsH4428. 19There wasH1961 not a cityH5892 that made peace with the children of IsraelH3478, save the Hivites the inhabitantsH3427 of GibeonH1391: they tookH3947 all in battleH4421. 20For it wasH1961 of Jehovah to harden their heartsH3820, to come against IsraelH3478 in battleH4421, that he might utterly destroyH8045 them, that they might have no favor, but that he might destroyH8045 them, as Jehovah commandedH6680 MosesH4872.
21And JoshuaH3091 cameH935 at that timeH6256, and cutH3772 off the Anakim from the hill-country, from HebronH2275, from DebirH1688, from AnabH6024, and from all the hill-country of JudahH3063, and from all the hill-country of IsraelH3478: JoshuaH3091 utterly destroyed them with their citiesH5892. 22There was none of the Anakim leftH7604 in the landH776 of the children of IsraelH3478: onlyH7535 in GazaH5804, in GathH1661, and in AshdodH795, did some remainH7604. 23So JoshuaH3091 tookH3947 the whole landH776, according to all that Jehovah spake unto MosesH4872; and JoshuaH3091 gaveH5414 it for an inheritanceH5159 unto IsraelH3478 according to their divisionsH4256 by their tribesH7626. And the landH776 had rest from warH4421.
