1 Corinthians 1:22-28
22Seeing that JewsG2453 askG154 for signsG4592, and GreeksG1672 seekG2212 after wisdomG4678: 23but we preachG2784 ChristG5547 crucifiedG4717, unto JewsG2453 a stumblingblock, and unto GentilesG1484 foolishnessG3472; 24but unto them that are calledG2822, both JewsG2453 and GreeksG1672, ChristG5547 the powerG1411 of GodG2316, and the wisdomG4678 of GodG2316. 25Because the foolishness of GodG2316 isG1510 wiser than menG444; and the weaknessG772 of GodG2316 isG1510 strongerG2478 than menG444.
26For behold your callingG2821, brethren, that not manyG4183 wiseG4680 after the fleshG4561, not manyG4183 mightyG1415, not manyG4183 noble, are called: 27but GodG2316 chose the foolishG3474 things of the worldG2889, that he might put to shameG2617 them that are wiseG4680; and GodG2316 chose the weakG772 things of the worldG2889, that he might put to shameG2617 the things that are strongG2478; 28and the base things of the worldG2889, and the things that areG1510 despisedG1848, did GodG2316 choose, yea and the things that areG1510 not, that he might bring to nought the things that areG1510:
