1The handיַד־yad-H3027of Yhwhיְהוָה֒Yah.wehH3068was upon me, and carried me outוַיּוֹצִאֵ֤נִיvai.yo.tzi.'E.niH3318in the spiritבְר֙וּחַ֙ve.Ru.achH7307of Yhwhיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,and set me downוַיְנִיחֵ֖נִיvay.ni.Che.niH5117in the midstבְּת֣וֹךְbe.TokhH8432of the valleyהַבִּקְעָ֑הha.bik.'AhH1237which wasfullמְלֵאָ֥הme.le.'AhH4392of bonesעֲצָמֽוֹת׃a.tza.MotH6106,

2And caused me to passוְהֶעֱבִירַ֥נִיve.he.'e.vi.Ra.niH5674by them round aboutH5439: and, behold, there wereveryמְאֹד֙me.'OdH3966manyרַבּ֤וֹתra.BotH7227in the openפְּנֵ֣יpe.NeiH6440valleyהַבִּקְעָ֔הha.bik.'AhH1237; and, lo, they wereveryמְאֹֽד׃me.'OdH3966dryיְבֵשׁ֥וֹתye.ve.ShotH3002.

3And he saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto me, Sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of manאָדָ֕ם'a.DamH120,can these bonesהָעֲצָמ֣וֹתha.'a.tza.MotH6106liveהֲתִחְיֶ֖ינָהha.tich.Yei.nahH2421?And I answeredוָאֹמַ֕רva.'o.MarH559,O Lordאֲדֹנָ֥י'a.do.NaiH136Yhwhיְהוִ֖הYah.wehH3069,thou knowestיָדָֽעְתָּ׃ya.Da.'e.taH3045.

4Again he saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto me, Prophesyהִנָּבֵ֖אhi.na.Ve'H5012upon these bonesהָעֲצָמ֣וֹתha.'a.tza.MotH6106,and sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֣ve.'a.mar.TaH559unto them, O ye dryהַיְבֵשׁ֔וֹתhay.ve.ShotH3002bonesהָעֲצָמוֹת֙ha.'a.tza.mOtH6106,hearשִׁמְע֖וּshim.'UH8085the wordדְּבַר־de.var-H1697of Yhwhיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

5Thus saithאָמַר֙'a.MarH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136Yhwhיְהוִ֔הYah.wehH3069unto these bonesלָעֲצָמ֖וֹתla.'a.tza.MotH6106;Behold, I will cause breathר֖וּחַRu.achH7307to enterמֵבִ֥יאme.Vi'H935into you, and ye shall liveוִחְיִיתֶֽם׃vich.yi.TemH2421:

6And I will layוְנָתַתִּי֩ve.na.ta.TiH5414sinewsגִּדִ֜יםgi.DimH1517upon you, and will bring upוְֽהַעֲלֵתִ֧יve.ha.'al.TiH5927fleshבָּשָׂ֗רba.SarH1320upon you, and coverוְקָרַמְתִּ֤יve.ka.ram.TiH7159you with skinע֔וֹרorH5785,and putוְנָתַתִּ֥יve.na.ta.TiH5414breathר֖וּחַRu.achH7307in you, and ye shall liveוִחְיִיתֶ֑םvich.yi.TemH2421;and ye shall knowוִידַעְתֶּ֖םvi.da'.TemH3045that I amYhwhיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

7So I prophesiedוְנִבֵּ֖אתִיve.ni.Be.tiH5012as I was commandedצֻוֵּ֑יתִיtzu.Vei.tiH6680:and as I prophesiedכְּהִנָּֽבְאִי֙ke.hi.na.ve.'IH5012,there was a noiseק֤וֹלKolH6963,and behold a shakingרַ֔עַשׁRa.'ashH7494,and the bonesעֲצָמ֔וֹתa.tza.MotH6106came togetherוַתִּקְרְב֣וּva.tik.re.VuH7126,boneעֶ֖צֶם'E.tzemH6106to his boneעַצְמֽוֹ׃atz.MoH6106.

8And when I beheldוְרָאִ֜יתִיve.ra.'I.tiH7200,lo, the sinewsגִּדִים֙gi.DimH1517and the fleshוּבָשָׂ֣רu.va.SarH1320came upעָלָ֔ה'a.LahH5927upon them, and the skinע֖וֹרorH5785coveredוַיִּקְרַ֧םvai.yik.RamH7159them aboveמִלְמָ֑עְלָהmil.Ma.'e.lahH4605: but there wasno breathוְר֖וּחַve.Ru.achH7307in them.

9Then saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559he unto me, Prophesyהִנָּבֵ֖אhi.na.Ve'H5012unto the windהָר֑וּחַha.Ru.achH7307,prophesyהִנָּבֵ֣אhi.na.Ve'H5012,sonבֶן־ven-H1121of manאָ֠דָם'A.domH120,and sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֨ve.'a.mar.TaH559to the windהָר֜וּחַha.Ru.achH7307,Thus saithאָמַ֣ר׀'a.MarH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136Yhwhיְהוִ֗הYah.wehH3069;Comeבֹּ֣אִיBo.'iH935from the fourמֵאַרְבַּ֤עme.'ar.Ba'H702windsרוּחוֹת֙ru.chOtH7307,O breathהָר֔וּחַha.Ru.achH7307,and breatheוּפְחִ֛יu.fe.ChiH5301upon these slainבַּהֲרוּגִ֥יםba.ha.ru.GimH2026,that they may liveוְיִֽחְיֽוּ׃ve.Yich.YuH2421.

10So I prophesiedוְהִנַּבֵּ֖אתִיve.hi.na.Be.tiH5012as he commandedצִוָּ֑נִיtzi.Va.niH6680me, and the breathהָר֜וּחַha.Ru.achH7307cameוַתָּבוֹא֩va.ta.Vo'H935into them, and they livedוַיִּֽחְי֗וּvai.yich.YuH2421,and stood upוַיַּֽעַמְדוּ֙vai.ya.'am.DuH5975upon their feetרַגְלֵיהֶ֔םrag.lei.HemH7272,an exceedingH3966greatגָּד֥וֹלga.DolH1419armyחַ֖יִלCha.yilH2428.

11Then he saidוַיֹּאמֶר֮vai.yo.MerH559unto me, Sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of manאָדָ֕ם'a.DamH120,these bonesהָעֲצָמ֣וֹתha.'a.tza.MotH6106are the whole houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478:behold, they sayאֹמְרִ֗ים'o.me.RimH559,Our bonesעַצְמוֹתֵ֛ינוּatz.mo.Tei.nuH6106are driedיָבְשׁ֧וּya.ve.ShuH3001,and our hopeתִקְוָתֵ֖נוּtik.va.Te.nuH8615is lostוְאָבְדָ֥הve.'a.ve.DahH6:we are cut offנִגְזַ֥רְנוּnig.Zar.nuH1504for our parts.

12Therefore prophesyהִנָּבֵ֨אhi.na.Ve'H5012and sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֜ve.'a.mar.TaH559unto them, Thus saithאָמַר֮'a.MarH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136Yhwhיְהוִה֒Yah.wehH3069;Behold, O my peopleעַמִּ֑י'a.MiH5971,I will openפֹתֵ֜חַfo.Te.achH6605your gravesקִבְרֽוֹתֵיכֶ֗םkiv.ro.tei.KhemH6913,and cause you to come upוְהַעֲלֵיתִ֥יve.ha.'a.lei.TiH5927out of your gravesמִקִּבְרוֹתֵיכֶ֖םmi.kiv.ro.tei.KhemH6913,and bringוְהֵבֵאתִ֥יve.he.ve.TiH935you into the landאַדְמַ֥ת'ad.MatH127of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ סYis.ra.'ElH3478.

13And ye shall knowוִֽידַעְתֶּ֖םvi.da'.TemH3045that I amYhwhיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,when I have openedבְּפִתְחִ֣יbe.fit.ChiH6605your gravesקִבְרֽוֹתֵיכֶ֗םkiv.ro.tei.KhemH6913,O my peopleעַמִּֽי׃'a.MiH5971,and brought you upוּבְהַעֲלוֹתִ֥יu.ve.ha.'a.lo.TiH5927out of your gravesמִקִּבְרוֹתֵיכֶ֖םmi.kiv.ro.tei.KhemH6913,

14And shall putוְנָתַתִּ֨יve.na.ta.TiH5414my spiritרוּחִ֤יru.ChiH7307in you, and ye shall liveוִחְיִיתֶ֔םvich.yi.TemH2421,and I shall placeH3240you in your own landאַדְמַתְכֶ֑ם'ad.mat.KhemH127:then shall ye knowוִידַעְתֶּ֞םvi.da'.TemH3045that I Yhwhיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068have spokenדִּבַּ֥רְתִּיdi.Bar.tiH1696it,and performedוְעָשִׂ֖יתִיve.'a.Si.tiH6213it,saithנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002Yhwhיְהוָֽה׃ פYah.wehH3068.

15The wordדְבַר־de.var-H1697of Yhwhיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068came again unto me, sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

16Moreover, thou sonבֶן־ven-H1121of manאָדָ֗ם'a.DamH120,takeקַח־kach-H3947thee oneאֶחָ֔ד'e.ChadH259stickעֵ֣ץ'etzH6086,and writeוּכְתֹ֤בu.khe.ToH3789upon it, For Judahלִֽיהוּדָ֔הli.hu.DahH3063,and for the childrenוְלִבְנֵ֥יve.liv.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478his companionsחֲבֵרָ֑יוcha.ve.rovH2270:then takeוּלְקַח֙u.le.KachH3947anotherאֶחָ֔ד'e.ChadH259stickעֵ֣ץ'etzH6086,and writeוּכְת֣וֹבu.khe.TovH3789upon it, For Josephלְיוֹסֵף֙le.yo.SefH3130,the stickעֵ֣ץ'etzH6086of Ephraimאֶפְרַ֔יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669, and forall the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478his companionsחֲבֵרָֽיו׃cha.ve.rovH2270:

17And joinוְקָרַ֨בve.ka.RavH7126them oneאֶחָ֧ד'e.ChadH259to anotherאֶחָ֛ד'e.ChadH259into oneאֶחָ֑ד'e.ChadH259stickלְעֵ֣ץle.'EtzH6086;and they shall become oneלַאֲחָדִ֖יםla.'a.cha.DimH259in thine handבְּיָדֶֽךָ׃be.ya.De.khaH3027.

18And when the childrenבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of thy peopleעַמְּךָ֖'a.me.KhaH5971shall speakיֹאמְר֣וּyo.me.RuH559unto thee, sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,Wilt thou not shewתַגִּ֥ידta.GidH5046us what thou meanest by these?

19Sayדַּבֵּ֣רda.BerH1696unto them, Thus saithאָמַר֮'a.MarH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136Yhwhיְהוִה֒Yah.wehH3069;Behold, I will takeלֹקֵ֜חַlo.Ke.achH3947the stickעֵ֤ץ'etzH6086of Josephיוֹסֵף֙yo.SefH3130, which isin the handבְּיַד־be.yad-H3027of Ephraimאֶפְרַ֔יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669,and the tribesוְשִׁבְטֵ֥יve.shiv.TeiH7626of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478his fellowsחֲבֵרָ֑יוchev.rovH2270,and will putוְנָתַתִּי֩ve.na.ta.TiH5414them with him, evenwith the stickעֵ֣ץ'etzH6086of Judahיְהוּדָ֗הye.hu.DahH3063,and makeוַֽעֲשִׂיתִם֙va.'a.si.TimH6213them oneאֶחָ֔ד'e.ChadH259stickלְעֵ֣ץle.'EtzH6086,and they shall be oneאֶחָ֖ד'e.ChadH259in mine handבְּיָדִֽי׃be.ya.DiH3027.

20And the sticksהָעֵצִ֜יםha.'e.TzimH6086whereon thou writestתִּכְתֹּ֧בtikh.ToH3789shall be in thine handבְּיָדְךָ֖be.ya.de.KhaH3027before their eyesלְעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃le.'ei.nei.HemH5869.

21And sayוְדַבֵּ֣רve.da.BerH1696unto them, Thus saithאָמַר֮'a.MarH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136Yhwhיְהוִה֒Yah.wehH3069;Behold, I will takeלֹקֵ֙חַ֙lo.Ke.achH3947the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478from amongמִבֵּ֥יןmi.BeinH996the heathenהַגּוֹיִ֖םha.go.YimH1471,whither they be goneהָֽלְכוּ־hal.khu-H1980,and will gatherוְקִבַּצְתִּ֤יve.ki.batz.TiH6908them on every sideמִסָּבִ֔יבmi.sa.VivH5439,and bringוְהֵבֵאתִ֥יve.he.ve.TiH935them into their own landאַדְמָתָֽם׃'ad.ma.TamH127:

22And I will makeוְעָשִׂ֣יתִיve.'a.Si.tiH6213them oneאֶחָ֤ד'e.ChadH259nationלְג֨וֹיle.GoyH1471in the landבָּאָ֙רֶץ֙ba.'A.retzH776upon the mountainsבְּהָרֵ֣יbe.ha.ReiH2022of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478;and oneאֶחָ֛ד'e.ChadH259kingוּמֶ֧לֶךְu.Me.lekhH4428shall be kingלְמֶ֑לֶךְle.Me.lekhH4428to them all: and they shall beH5750no more twoלִשְׁנֵ֣יlish.NeiH8147nationsגוֹיִ֔םgo.YimH1471,neither shall they be dividedיֵחָ֥צוּye.Cha.tzuH2673into twoלִשְׁתֵּ֥יlish.TeiH8147kingdomsמַמְלָכ֖וֹתmam.la.KhotH4467any more at all:

23Neither shall they defileיִֽטַמְּא֣וּyi.ta.me.'UH2930themselves any more with their idolsבְּגִלּֽוּלֵיהֶם֙be.gi.lu.lei.HemH1544,nor with their detestable thingsוּבְשִׁקּ֣וּצֵיהֶ֔םu.ve.shi.Ku.tzei.HemH8251,nor with any of their transgressionsפִּשְׁעֵיהֶ֑םpish.'ei.HemH6588:but I will saveוְהוֹשַׁעְתִּ֣יve.ho.sha'.TiH3467them out of all their dwellingplacesמוֹשְׁבֹֽתֵיהֶם֙mo.she.vo.tei.HemH4186,wherein they have sinnedחָטְא֣וּcha.te.'UH2398,and will cleanseוְטִהַרְתִּ֤יve.ti.har.TiH2891them: so shall they be my peopleלְעָ֔םle.'AmH5971,and I will be their Godלֵאלֹהִֽים׃le.lo.HimH430.

24And Davidדָוִד֙da.VidH1732my servantוְעַבְדִּ֤יve.'av.DiH5650shall bekingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428over them; and they all shall have oneאֶחָ֖ד'e.ChadH259shepherdוְרוֹעֶ֥הve.ro.'EhH7462:they shall also walkH3212in my judgmentsוּבְמִשְׁפָּטַ֣יu.ve.mish.pa.TaiH4941,and observeיִשְׁמְר֖וּyish.me.RuH8104my statutesוְחֻקֹּתַ֥יve.chu.ko.TaiH2708,and doוְעָשׂ֥וּve.'a.SuH6213them.

25And they shall dwellוְיָשְׁב֣וּve.ya.she.VuH3427in the landהָאָ֗רֶץha.'A.retzH776that I have givenנָתַ֙תִּי֙na.Ta.tiH5414unto Jacobלְיַֽעֲקֹ֔בle.ya.'a.KoH3290my servantלְעַבְדִּ֣יle.'av.DiH5650,wherein your fathersאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם'a.vo.tei.KhemH1have dweltיָֽשְׁבוּ־ya.she.vu-H3427;and they shall dwellוְיָשְׁב֣וּve.ya.she.VuH3427therein, eventhey, and their childrenוּבְנֵיהֶ֞םu.ve.nei.HemH1121,and their children’sוּבְנֵ֤יu.ve.NeiH1121childrenבְנֵיהֶם֙ve.nei.HemH1121for everעוֹלָ֔םo.LamH5769:and my servantעַבְדִּ֔י'av.DiH5650Davidוְדָוִ֣דve.da.VidH1732shall betheir princeנָשִׂ֥יאna.Si'H5387forעַד־'ad-H5704everלְעוֹלָֽם׃le.'o.LamH5769.

26Moreover I will makeוְכָרַתִּ֤יve.kha.ra.TiH3772a covenantבְּרִ֣יתbe.RitH1285of peaceשָׁל֔וֹםsha.LomH7965with them; it shall be an everlastingעוֹלָ֖םo.LamH5769covenantבְּרִ֥יתbe.RitH1285with them: and I will placeוּנְתַתִּים֙u.ne.ta.TimH5414them, and multiplyוְהִרְבֵּיתִ֣יve.hir.bei.TiH7235them, and will setוְנָתַתִּ֧יve.na.ta.TiH5414my sanctuaryמִקְדָּשִׁ֛יmik.da.ShiH4720in the midstבְּתוֹכָ֖םbe.to.KhamH8432of them for evermoreלְעוֹלָֽם׃le.'o.LamH5769.

27My tabernacleמִשְׁכָּנִי֙mish.ka.NiH4908also shall be with them: yea, I will be their Godלֵֽאלֹהִ֑יםle.lo.HimH430,and they shall be my peopleלְעָֽם׃le.'AmH5971.

28And the heathenהַגּוֹיִ֔םha.go.YimH1471shall knowוְיָֽדְעוּ֙ve.ya.de.'UH3045that I Yhwhיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068do sanctifyמְקַדֵּ֖שׁme.ka.DeshH6942Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478,when my sanctuaryמִקְדָּשִׁ֛יmik.da.ShiH4720shall be in the midstבְּתוֹכָ֖םbe.to.KhamH8432of them for evermoreלְעוֹלָֽם׃ סle.'o.LamH5769.
