Vision of the Valley of Dry Bones
1Thehandיַד־yad-H3027of the Lordיְהוָה֒Yah.wehH3068was upon me, and Hebroughtוַיּוֹצִאֵ֤נִיvai.yo.tzi.'E.niH3318me outby the Spiritבְר֙וּחַ֙ve.Ru.achH7307of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068and setוַיְנִיחֵ֖נִיvay.ni.Che.niH5117me downH5117in the middleבְּת֣וֹךְbe.TokhH8432of thevalleyהַבִּקְעָ֑הha.bik.'AhH1237;and it was fullמְלֵאָ֥הme.le.'AhH4392of bonesעֲצָמֽוֹת׃a.tza.MotH6106.
2He caused me to passוְהֶעֱבִירַ֥נִיve.he.'e.vi.Ra.niH5674amongH5921them roundסָבִ֣יב׀sa.VivH5439aboutסָבִ֑יבsa.VivH5439,and beholdוְהִנֵּ֨הve.hi.NehH2009, there wereveryמְאֹד֙me.'OdH3966manyרַבּ֤וֹתra.BotH7227on the surfaceפְּנֵ֣יpe.NeiH6440of the valleyהַבִּקְעָ֔הha.bik.'AhH1237;and loוְהִנֵּ֖הve.hi.NehH2009, they wereveryמְאֹֽד׃me.'OdH3966dryיְבֵשׁ֥וֹתye.ve.ShotH3002.
4Again He saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to me, “Prophesyהִנָּבֵ֖אhi.na.Ve'H5012overעַל־'al-H5921theseהָאֵ֑לֶּהha.'E.lehH428bonesהָעֲצָמ֣וֹתha.'a.tza.MotH6106and sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֣ve.'a.mar.TaH559to them, ‘O dryהַיְבֵשׁ֔וֹתhay.ve.ShotH3002bonesהָעֲצָמוֹת֙ha.'a.tza.mOtH6106,hearשִׁמְע֖וּshim.'UH8085the wordדְּבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.’
6I will putוְנָתַתִּי֩ve.na.ta.TiH5414sinewsגִּדִ֜יםgi.DimH1517on you, make fleshבָּשָׂ֗רba.SarH1320growH5927backH5927on you, coverוְקָרַמְתִּ֤יve.ka.ram.TiH7159you with skinע֔וֹרorH5785and putוְנָתַתִּ֥יve.na.ta.TiH5414breathר֖וּחַRu.achH7307in you that you may comeH2421aliveH2421; and you willknowוִידַעְתֶּ֖םvi.da'.TemH3045that I am the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.’”
7So I prophesiedוְנִבֵּ֖אתִיve.ni.Be.tiH5012as I was commandedצֻוֵּ֑יתִיtzu.Vei.tiH6680;and as I prophesiedכְּהִנָּֽבְאִי֙ke.hi.na.ve.'IH5012, there was anoiseק֤וֹלKolH6963,and beholdוְהִנֵּה־ve.hi.neh-H2009,a rattlingרַ֔עַשׁRa.'ashH7494;and the bonesעֲצָמ֔וֹתa.tza.MotH6106cameH7126togetherH7126,boneעֶ֖צֶם'E.tzemH6106to its boneעַצְמֽוֹ׃atz.MoH6106.
8And I lookedוְרָאִ֜יתִיve.ra.'I.tiH7200,and beholdוְהִנֵּֽה־ve.hi.neh-H2009,sinewsגִּדִים֙gi.DimH1517were on them, and fleshוּבָשָׂ֣רu.va.SarH1320grewעָלָ֔ה'a.LahH5927and skinע֖וֹרorH5785coveredוַיִּקְרַ֧ם מִלְמָ֑עְלָהvai.yik.Ram mil.Ma.'e.lahH7159H4605them; but thereH369was noH369breathוְר֖וּחַve.Ru.achH7307in them.
9Then He saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to me, “Prophesyהִנָּבֵ֖אhi.na.Ve'H5012to the breathהָר֑וּחַha.Ru.achH7307,prophesyהִנָּבֵ֣אhi.na.Ve'H5012,sonבֶן־ven-H1121of manאָ֠דָם'A.domH120,and sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֨ve.'a.mar.TaH559to the breathהָר֜וּחַha.Ru.achH7307, ‘Thusכֹּֽה־koh-H3541saysאָמַ֣ר׀'a.MarH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136 GodH3068, “Comeבֹּ֣אִיBo.'iH935from the fourמֵאַרְבַּ֤עme.'ar.Ba'H702windsרוּחוֹת֙ru.chOtH7307,O breathהָר֔וּחַha.Ru.achH7307, andbreatheוּפְחִ֛יu.fe.ChiH5301on theseהָאֵ֖לֶּהha.'E.lehH428slainבַּהֲרוּגִ֥יםba.ha.ru.GimH2026, that theycomeH2421to lifeH2421.”’”
10So I prophesiedוְהִנַּבֵּ֖אתִיve.hi.na.Be.tiH5012as He commandedצִוָּ֑נִיtzi.Va.niH6680me, and thebreathהָר֜וּחַha.Ru.achH7307cameוַתָּבוֹא֩va.ta.Vo'H935into them, and they cameH2421to lifeH2421and stoodוַיַּֽעַמְדוּ֙vai.ya.'am.DuH5975on their feetרַגְלֵיהֶ֔םrag.lei.HemH7272, anexceedinglyH3966greatגָּד֥וֹלga.DolH1419armyחַ֖יִלCha.yilH2428.

11Then He saidוַיֹּאמֶר֮vai.yo.MerH559to me, “Sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of manאָדָ֕ם'a.DamH120,theseהָאֵ֔לֶּהha.'E.lehH428bonesהָעֲצָמ֣וֹתha.'a.tza.MotH6106are thewholeכָּל־kol-H3605houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478;beholdהִנֵּ֣הhi.NehH2009,they sayאֹמְרִ֗ים'o.me.RimH559, ‘Ourbonesעַצְמוֹתֵ֛ינוּatz.mo.Tei.nuH6106are driedיָבְשׁ֧וּya.ve.ShuH3001up and our hopeתִקְוָתֵ֖נוּtik.va.Te.nuH8615has perishedוְאָבְדָ֥הve.'a.ve.DahH6. We are completelycutנִגְזַ֥רְנוּnig.Zar.nuH1504offH1504.’
12Thereforeלָכֵן֩la.KhenH3651prophesyהִנָּבֵ֨אhi.na.Ve'H5012and sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֜ve.'a.mar.TaH559to them, ‘Thusכֹּֽה־koh-H3541saysאָמַר֮'a.MarH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136 GodH3068, “Beholdהִנֵּה֩hi.NehH2009,I will openפֹתֵ֜חַfo.Te.achH6605your gravesקִבְרֽוֹתֵיכֶ֗םkiv.ro.tei.KhemH6913andcause you to comeוְהַעֲלֵיתִ֥יve.ha.'a.lei.TiH5927up out of your gravesמִקִּבְרוֹתֵיכֶ֖םmi.kiv.ro.tei.KhemH6913,My peopleעַמִּ֑י'a.MiH5971;and I will bringוְהֵבֵאתִ֥יve.he.ve.TiH935you into the landאַדְמַ֥ת'ad.MatH127of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ סYis.ra.'ElH3478.
13Then you will knowוִֽידַעְתֶּ֖םvi.da'.TemH3045that I am the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,when I have openedבְּפִתְחִ֣יbe.fit.ChiH6605your gravesקִבְרֽוֹתֵיכֶ֗םkiv.ro.tei.KhemH6913and caused you to comeוּבְהַעֲלוֹתִ֥יu.ve.ha.'a.lo.TiH5927up out of your gravesמִקִּבְרוֹתֵיכֶ֖םmi.kiv.ro.tei.KhemH6913,My peopleעַמִּֽי׃'a.MiH5971.
14I willputוְנָתַתִּ֨יve.na.ta.TiH5414MySpiritרוּחִ֤יru.ChiH7307within you and you will comeH2421to lifeH2421,and I will placeוְהִנַּחְתִּ֥יve.hi.nach.TiH5117you on your own landאַדְמַתְכֶ֑ם'ad.mat.KhemH127.Then you will knowוִידַעְתֶּ֞םvi.da'.TemH3045that I, the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068,have spokenדִּבַּ֥רְתִּיdi.Bar.tiH1696and doneוְעָשִׂ֖יתִיve.'a.Si.tiH6213it,” declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָֽה׃ פYah.wehH3068.’”

16“And you, sonבֶן־ven-H1121of manאָדָ֗ם'a.DamH120,takeקַח־kach-H3947for yourselfoneאֶחָ֔ד'e.ChadH259stickעֵ֣ץ'etzH6086and writeוּכְתֹ֤בu.khe.ToH3789on it, ‘ForJudahלִֽיהוּדָ֔הli.hu.DahH3063and for the sonsוְלִבְנֵ֥יve.liv.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478,his companionsחֲבֵרָ֑יוcha.ve.rovH2270’;then takeוּלְקַח֙u.le.KachH3947anotherאֶחָ֔ד'e.ChadH259stickעֵ֣ץ'etzH6086and writeוּכְת֣וֹבu.khe.TovH3789on it, ‘ForJosephלְיוֹסֵף֙le.yo.SefH3130,the stickעֵ֣ץ'etzH6086of Ephraimאֶפְרַ֔יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478,his companionsחֲבֵרָֽיו׃cha.ve.rovH2270.’
19sayדַּבֵּ֣רda.BerH1696to them, ‘Thusכֹּֽה־koh-H3541saysאָמַר֮'a.MarH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136 GodH3068, “Beholdהִנֵּה֩hi.NehH2009,I will takeלֹקֵ֜חַlo.Ke.achH3947the stickעֵ֤ץ'etzH6086of Josephיוֹסֵף֙yo.SefH3130,whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834is in the handבְּיַד־be.yad-H3027of Ephraimאֶפְרַ֔יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669,and the tribesוְשִׁבְטֵ֥יve.shiv.TeiH7626of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478,his companionsחֲבֵרָ֑יוchev.rovH2270;and I will putוְנָתַתִּי֩ve.na.ta.TiH5414them with it, with the stickעֵ֣ץ'etzH6086of Judahיְהוּדָ֗הye.hu.DahH3063,and makeוַֽעֲשִׂיתִם֙va.'a.si.TimH6213them oneאֶחָ֔ד'e.ChadH259stickלְעֵ֣ץle.'EtzH6086,and they will be oneאֶחָ֖ד'e.ChadH259in My handבְּיָדִֽי׃be.ya.DiH3027.”’
21Sayוְדַבֵּ֣רve.da.BerH1696to them, ‘Thusכֹּֽה־koh-H3541saysאָמַר֮'a.MarH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136 GodH3068, “Beholdהִנֵּ֨הhi.NehH2009, I willtakeלֹקֵ֙חַ֙lo.Ke.achH3947the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478from amongמִבֵּ֥יןmi.BeinH996the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֖םha.go.YimH1471whereאֲשֶׁ֣ר שָׁ֑ם'a.Sher ShamH834H8033they have goneהָֽלְכוּ־hal.khu-H1980,and I will gatherוְקִבַּצְתִּ֤יve.ki.batz.TiH6908them from everyH5439sideH5439and bringוְהֵבֵאתִ֥יve.he.ve.TiH935them into their own landאַדְמָתָֽם׃'ad.ma.TamH127;
22and I will makeוְעָשִׂ֣יתִיve.'a.Si.tiH6213themoneאֶחָ֤ד'e.ChadH259nationלְג֨וֹיle.GoyH1471in the landבָּאָ֙רֶץ֙ba.'A.retzH776,on the mountainsבְּהָרֵ֣יbe.ha.ReiH2022of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478; andoneאֶחָ֛ד'e.ChadH259kingוּמֶ֧לֶךְu.Me.lekhH4428will be kingלְמֶ֑לֶךְle.Me.lekhH4428for allלְכֻלָּ֖םle.khu.LamH3605of them; and they will noוְלֹ֤אve.Lo'H3808longerH5750be twoלִשְׁנֵ֣יlish.NeiH8147nationsגוֹיִ֔םgo.YimH1471and noוְלֹ֨אve.Lo'H3808longerH5750be dividedיֵחָ֥צוּye.Cha.tzuH2673into twoלִשְׁתֵּ֥יlish.TeiH8147kingdomsמַמְלָכ֖וֹתmam.la.KhotH4467.
23They willnoוְלֹ֧אve.Lo'H3808longerע֗וֹדodH5750defileיִֽטַמְּא֣וּyi.ta.me.'UH2930themselves with their idolsבְּגִלּֽוּלֵיהֶם֙be.gi.lu.lei.HemH1544,or with their detestableH8251thingsH8251,or with anyוּבְכֹ֖לu.ve.KholH3605of their transgressionsפִּשְׁעֵיהֶ֑םpish.'ei.HemH6588; butI will deliverוְהוֹשַׁעְתִּ֣יve.ho.sha'.TiH3467them from allמִכֹּ֤לmi.KolH3605theirdwellingמוֹשְׁבֹֽתֵיהֶם֙mo.she.vo.tei.HemH4186placesH4186in whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834they have sinnedחָטְא֣וּcha.te.'UH2398,and will cleanseוְטִהַרְתִּ֤יve.ti.har.TiH2891them. And they will be My peopleלְעָ֔םle.'AmH5971,and I will be their Godלֵאלֹהִֽים׃le.lo.HimH430.

24“My servantוְעַבְדִּ֤יve.'av.DiH5650Davidדָוִד֙da.VidH1732will be kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428overעֲלֵיהֶ֔ם'a.lei.HemH5921them, and they will allלְכֻלָּ֑םle.khu.LamH3605haveיִהְיֶ֣הyih.YehH1961oneאֶחָ֖ד'e.ChadH259shepherdוְרוֹעֶ֥הve.ro.'EhH7462;and they will walkיֵלֵ֔כוּye.Le.khuH1980in My ordinancesוּבְמִשְׁפָּטַ֣יu.ve.mish.pa.TaiH4941and keepיִשְׁמְר֖וּyish.me.RuH8104My statutesוְחֻקֹּתַ֥יve.chu.ko.TaiH2708and observeוְעָשׂ֥וּve.'a.SuH6213them.
25They will liveוְיָשְׁב֣וּve.ya.she.VuH3427on the landהָאָ֗רֶץha.'A.retzH776that I gaveנָתַ֙תִּי֙na.Ta.tiH5414to Jacobלְיַֽעֲקֹ֔בle.ya.'a.KoH3290My servantלְעַבְדִּ֣יle.'av.DiH5650,in whichH834your fathersאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם'a.vo.tei.KhemH1livedיָֽשְׁבוּ־ya.she.vu-H3427;and they will liveוְיָשְׁב֣וּve.ya.she.VuH3427on it, they, and their sonsוּבְנֵיהֶ֞םu.ve.nei.HemH1121and their sons’וּבְנֵ֤יu.ve.NeiH1121sonsבְנֵיהֶם֙ve.nei.HemH1121,foreverעַד־ עוֹלָ֔ם'ad- o.LamH5704H5769; andDavidוְדָוִ֣דve.da.VidH1732My servantעַבְדִּ֔י'av.DiH5650will be their princeנָשִׂ֥יאna.Si'H5387foreverלְעוֹלָֽם׃le.'o.LamH5769.
26I will makeוְכָרַתִּ֤יve.kha.ra.TiH3772acovenantבְּרִ֣יתbe.RitH1285of peaceשָׁל֔וֹםsha.LomH7965with them; it will be aneverlastingעוֹלָ֖םo.LamH5769covenantבְּרִ֥יתbe.RitH1285with them. And I willplaceוּנְתַתִּים֙u.ne.ta.TimH5414them andmultiplyוְהִרְבֵּיתִ֣יve.hir.bei.TiH7235them, and will setוְנָתַתִּ֧יve.na.ta.TiH5414Mysanctuaryמִקְדָּשִׁ֛יmik.da.ShiH4720in their midstבְּתוֹכָ֖םbe.to.KhamH8432foreverלְעוֹלָֽם׃le.'o.LamH5769.
28And the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֔םha.go.YimH1471will knowוְיָֽדְעוּ֙ve.ya.de.'UH3045that I am the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068who sanctifiesמְקַדֵּ֖שׁme.ka.DeshH6942Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478,when My sanctuaryמִקְדָּשִׁ֛יmik.da.ShiH4720is in their midstבְּתוֹכָ֖םbe.to.KhamH8432foreverלְעוֹלָֽם׃ סle.'o.LamH5769.”’”
