21ButNeco sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֣חvai.yish.LachH7971messengersמַלְאָכִ֣ים׀mal.'a.KhimH4397to him, sayingלֵאמֹר֩׀le.MorH559, “Whatמַה־mah-H4100business do you have with me, Kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֗הye.hu.DahH3063? I am not comingagainstעָלֶ֨יךָ'a.Lei.khaH5921you todayהַיּוֹם֙hai.yOmH3117,but againstH413the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004with which I am at warמִלְחַמְתִּ֔יmil.cham.TiH4421,and Godוֵאלֹהִ֖יםve.lo.HimH430has toldאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559me to hurryלְבַֽהֲלֵ֑נִיle.va.ha.Le.niH926.For your own sake, stopחֲדַל־cha.dal-H2308interfering withGodמֵאֱלֹהִ֥יםme.'E.lo.HimH430whoאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834is with me, so that He does not destroyיַשְׁחִיתֶֽךָ׃yash.chi.Te.khaH7843you.”

22However, Josiahיֹאשִׁיָּ֨הוּyo.shi.Ya.huH2977would not turnהֵסֵב֩he.SevH5437awayH5437from him, butdisguisedהִתְחַפֵּ֔שׂhit.cha.PesH2664himself in order to fightH3898against him; norH3808did he listenשָׁמַ֛עsha.Ma'H8085to the wordsדִּבְרֵ֥יdiv.ReiH1697of Necoנְכ֖וֹne.KhoH5224from the mouthמִפִּ֣יmi.PiH6310of Godאֱלֹהִ֑ים'E.lo.HimH430,but he cameוַיָּבֹ֕אvai.ya.Vo'H935to wageH3898warH3898on the plainבְּבִקְעַ֥תbe.vik.'AtH1237ofMegiddoמְגִדּֽוֹ׃me.gi.DoH4023.

23The archersוַיֹּרוּ֙vai.yo.RuH3384shotהַיֹּרִ֔יםhai.yo.RimH3384Kingלַמֶּ֖לֶךְla.Me.lekhH4428Josiahיֹאשִׁיָּ֑הוּyo.shi.Ya.huH2977,and the kingהַמֶּ֤לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to his servantsלַעֲבָדָיו֙la.'a.va.DavH5650, “Takeהַעֲבִיר֔וּנִיha.'a.vi.Ru.niH5674me awayH5674,for I amH2470badlyמְאֹֽד׃me.'OdH3966woundedהָחֳלֵ֖יתִיho.cho.Lei.tiH2470.”

24So his servantsעֲבָדָ֜יו'a.va.DavH5650tookH5674him outH5674of the chariotהַמֶּרְכָּבָ֗הha.mer.ka.VahH4818and carriedוַֽיַּרְכִּיבֻהוּ֮vai.yar.ki.vu.HuH7392him on the secondהַמִּשְׁנֶה֮ha.mish.NehH4932chariotרֶ֣כֶבRe.khevH7393whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834he had, and broughtוַיּוֹלִיכֻ֙הוּ֙vai.yo.li.Khu.huH1980him to Jerusalemיְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔םye.Ru.sha.LimH3389where he diedוַיָּ֕מָתvai.Ya.motH4191and was buriedוַיִּקָּבֵ֖רvai.yi.ka.VerH6912in the tombsבְּקִבְר֣וֹתbe.kiv.RotH6913of his fathersאֲבֹתָ֑יו'a.vo.TavH1.Allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605Judahיְהוּדָה֙ye.hu.DahH3063and Jerusalemוִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔םvi.Ru.sha.LimH3389mournedמִֽתְאַבְּלִ֖יםmit.'a.be.LimH56for Josiahיֹאשִׁיָּֽהוּ׃ פyo.shi.Ya.huH2977.
