Eliphaz Accuses and Exhorts Job
1Then EliphazH464 the TemaniteH8489 1respondedH6030H559,2“Can a vigorous 2manH1397 be of useH5532 to GodH410, OrH3588 a wiseH7919 man be usefulH5532 to himself?3Is there any pleasureH2656 to 3the AlmightyH7706 ifH3588 you are righteousH6663, OrH518 profitH1215 ifH3588 you makeH8552 your waysH1870 perfectH8552?4Is it becauseH4480 of your 4reverenceH3374 that He reprovesH3198 you, That He 5entersH935 into judgmentH4941 againstH5973 you?5Is not 6your wickednessH7463 greatH7227, And your iniquitiesH5771 withoutH369 endH7093?6For you have 7takenH2254 pledgesH2254 of your brothersH251 withoutH2600 causeH2600, And 8strippedH6584 9men nakedH6174.7To the wearyH5889 you have 10givenH8248 noH3808 waterH4325 to drinkH8248, And from the hungryH7457 you have 11withheldH4513 breadH3899.8But the earthH776 12belongs to the 13mightyH2220 manH376, And 14the honorableH5375H6440 man dwellsH3427 in it.9You have sentH7971 15widowsH490 awayH7971 emptyH7387, And the 16strengthH2220 of the 17orphansH3490 has been crushedH1792.10ThereforeH5921H3651 18snaresH6341 surroundH5439 you, And suddenH6597 19dreadH6343 terrifiesH926 you,11OrH176 20darknessH2822, so that you cannotH3808 seeH7200, And an 21abundanceH8229 of waterH4325 coversH3680 you.
12“Is not GodH433 22in the heightH1363 of heavenH8064? LookH7200 also at the 23distantH7218 starsH3556, howH3588 highH7311 they are!13You sayH559, ‘24WhatH4100 does GodH410 knowH3045? Can He judgeH8199 throughH1157 the thickH6205 darknessH6205?1425CloudsH5645 are a hidingH5643 placeH5643 for Him, so that He cannotH3808 seeH7200; And He walksH1980 on the 26vaultH2329 of heavenH8064.’15Will you keepH8104 to the ancientH5769 pathH734 WhichH834 27wickedH205 menH4962 have trodH1869,16WhoH834 were snatchedH7059 awayH7059 28before their timeH6256, Whose 29foundationsH3247 were 30washedH3332 awayH3332 by a riverH5104?17They 31saidH559 to GodH410, ‘DepartH5493 from us!’ And ‘WhatH4100 can 32the AlmightyH7706 doH6466 to them?’18Yet He 33filledH4390 their housesH1004 with goodH2896 things; But 34the counselH6098 of the wickedH7563 is farH7368 from me.19The 35righteousH6662 seeH7200 and are gladH8055, And the innocentH5355 mockH3932 them,20Saying, ‘TrulyH518H3808 our adversariesH7009 are cutH3582 offH3582, And their 36abundanceH3499 37the fireH784 has consumedH398.’
21“3839YieldH5532 nowH4994 and be at peaceH7999 with Him; Thereby goodH2899 will comeH935 to you.22PleaseH4994 receiveH3947 4041instructionH8451 from His mouthH6310 And establishH7760 His wordsH561 in your heartH3824.23IfH518 you 42returnH7725 to 43the AlmightyH7706, you will be 44restoredH1129; If you 45removeH7368 unrighteousnessH5767 farH7368 from your tentH168,24And 46placeH7896 your 47goldH1220 in the dustH6083, And the gold of OphirH211 among the stonesH6697 of the brooksH5158,25Then 48the AlmightyH7706 will be your 49goldH1220 And choiceH8443 silverH3701 to you.26For thenH227 you will 50delightH6026 in 51the AlmightyH7706 And liftH5375 up your faceH6440 to GodH433.27You will 52prayH6279 to Him, and 53He will hearH8085 you; And you will payH7999 your vowsH5088.28You will also decreeH1504 a thingH561, and it will be establishedH6965 for you; And 54lightH216 will shineH5050 on your waysH1870.29WhenH3588 55you are castH8213 downH8213, you will speakH559 with 56confidenceH1466, And the 5758humbleH7807H5869 personH7807H5869 He will saveH3467.30He will deliverH4422 one who is not innocentH5355, And he will be 59deliveredH4422 through the cleannessH1252 of your handsH3709.”
