Job Despairs of God’s Dealings

1“12I loatheH6962 my own lifeH2425; I will giveH5800 fullH5800H5921 ventH5800 to 3my complaintH7879; I will speakH1696 in the bitternessH4751 of my soulH5315.2I will sayH559 to GodH433, ‘4Do not condemnH7561 me; Let me knowH3045 whyH5921H4100 You contendH7378 with me.3Is it 5rightH2896 for You indeedH3588 to 6oppressH6231, To rejectH3988 7the laborH3018 of Your handsH3709, And 8to lookH3313 favorablyH3313 on 9the schemesH6098 of the wickedH7563?4Have You eyesH5869 of fleshH1320? OrH518 do You 10seeH7200 as a manH582 seesH7200?5Are Your daysH3117 as the daysH3117 of a mortalH582, OrH518 11Your yearsH8141 as man’sH1397 yearsH3117,6That 12You should seekH1245 for my guiltH5771 And searchH1875 after my sinH2403?7AccordingH5921 to Your knowledgeH1847 13I am indeedH3588 not guiltyH7561, Yet thereH369 is 14noH369 deliveranceH5337 from Your handH3027.

8‘15Your handsH3027 fashionedH6087 and madeH6213 me 16altogetherH3162H5439, 17And would You destroyH1104 me?9RememberH2142 nowH4994, that You have madeH6213 me as 18clayH2563; And would You 19turnH7725 me into dustH6083 againH7725?10Did You not pourH5413 me out like milkH2461 And curdleH7087 me like cheeseH1385;11ClotheH3847 me with skinH5785 and fleshH1320, And knitH5526 me togetherH5526 with bonesH6106 and sinewsH1517?12You have 20grantedH6213 me lifeH2425 and lovingkindnessH2617; And Your careH6486 has preservedH8104 my spiritH7307.13Yet 21theseH428 thingsH428 You have concealedH6845 in Your heartH3824; I knowH3045 that thisH2088 is withinH5973 You:14IfH518 I sinH2398, then You would 22takeH8104 noteH8104 of me, And 23would not acquitH5352 me of my guiltH5771.15IfH518 24I am wickedH7561, woeH480 to me! And 25if I am righteousH6663, I dare not liftH5375 up my headH7218. I am satedH7649 with disgraceH7036 and 26consciousH7202 of my miseryH6040.16Should my head be liftedH1342 up, 27You would huntH6679 me like a lionH7826; And againH7725 You would showH6381 Your 28powerH6381 against me.17You renewH2318 29Your witnessesH5707 againstH5048 me And increaseH7235 Your angerH3708 towardH5973 me; 3031HardshipH2487 after hardshipH6635 is with me.

18‘32WhyH4100 then have You broughtH3318 me out of the wombH7358? Would that I had diedH1478 and noH3808 eyeH5869 had seenH7200 me!19I should have beenH1961 as thoughH3512 I had not beenH1961, CarriedH2986 from wombH990 to tombH6913.’20Would He not letH2308 33my fewH4592 daysH3117 aloneH2308? 3435WithdrawH7896 from me that I may haveH1082 a littleH4592 cheerH108221BeforeH2962 I goH1980--36and I shall not returnH7725-- 37To the landH776 of darknessH2822 and 38deepH6757 shadowH6757,22The landH776 of utterH5890 gloomH5890 as darknessH652 itself, Of deepH6757 shadowH6757 withoutH3808 orderH5468, And which shinesH3313 as the darknessH652.”
