Eliphaz Accuses and Exhorts Job
1Then EliphazH464 the TemaniteH8489 respondedH6030H559,2“Can a strongH1397 1manH1397 beH5532 ofH5532 useH5532 to GodH410, OrH3588 a wiseH7919 one beH5532 usefulH5532 to himself?3Is it any pleasureH2656 to 2the AlmightyH7706 ifH3588 you areH6663 righteousH6663, OrH518 gainH1215 ifH3588 you makeH8552 your waysH1870 blamelessH8552?4Is it becauseH4480 of your 3reverenceH3374 that He punishesH3198 you, That He 4entersH935 into judgmentH4941 againstH5973 you?5Is 5your wickednessH7463 not abundantH7227, And is there noH369 endH7093 to your guiltyH5771 deedsH5771?6For you have 6seizedH2254 pledgesH2254 from your brothersH251 withoutH2600 causeH2600, And 78strippedH6584H899 people nakedH6174.7You have 9givenH8248 the wearyH5889 noH3808 waterH4325 toH8248 drinkH8248, And you have 10withheldH4513 breadH3899 from the hungryH7457.8But the earthH776 11belongs to the 12powerfulH2220 manH376, And 13the one who is honorableH5375H6440 dwellsH3427 on it.9You have sentH7971 14widowsH490 awayH7971 emptyH7387, And the 15strengthH2220 of 16orphansH3490 has been crushedH1792.10ThereforeH5921H3651 17trapsH6341 surroundH5439 you, And suddenH6597 18dreadH6343 terrifiesH926 you,11OrH176 19darknessH2822, so that you cannotH3808 seeH7200, And a 20floodH8229 of waterH4325 coversH3680 you.
12“Is GodH433 not 21in the heightH1363 of heavenH8064? LookH7200 also at the 22highestH7218 starsH3556, howH3588 highH7311 they areH7311!13But you sayH559, ‘23WhatH4100 does GodH410 knowH3045? Can He judgeH8199 throughH1157 the thickH6205 darknessH6205?1424CloudsH5645 are a hidingH5643 placeH5643 for Him, so that He cannotH3808 seeH7200; And He walksH1980 on the 25vaultH2329 of heavenH8064.’15Will you keepH8104 to the ancientH5769 pathH734 WhichH834 26wickedH205 peopleH4962 have walkedH1869,16WhoH834 were snatchedH7059 awayH7059 27before their timeH6256, Whose 28foundationsH3247 were 29washedH3332 awayH3332 by a riverH5104?17They 30saidH559 to GodH410, ‘GoH5493 awayH5493 from us!’ And ‘WhatH4100 can 31the AlmightyH7706 doH6466 to them?’18Yet He 32filledH4390 their housesH1004 with goodH2896 things; But 33the adviceH6098 of the wickedH7563 isH7368 farH7368 from me.19The 34righteousH6662 seeH7200 and areH8055 gladH8055, And the innocentH5355 mockH3932 them, saying,20‘TrulyH518H3808 our enemiesH7009 are eliminatedH3582, And 35fireH784 has consumedH398 their 36abundanceH3499.’
21“37BeH5532 reconciledH5532 with Him, and be at peaceH7999; Thereby goodH2899 will comeH935 to you.22PleaseH4994 receiveH3947 3839instructionH8451 from His mouthH6310, And putH7760 His wordsH561 in your heartH3824.23IfH518 you 40returnH7725 to 41the AlmightyH7706, you will be 42restoredH1129; If you 43removeH7368 injusticeH5767 farH7368 from your tentH168,24And 44putH7896 your 45goldH1220 in the dustH6083, And the gold of OphirH211 among the stonesH6697 of the brooksH5158,25Then 46the AlmightyH7706 will be your 47goldH1220 And abundantH8443 silverH3701 to you.26For thenH227 you will 48takeH6026 pleasureH6026 in 49the AlmightyH7706 And liftH5375 upH5375 your faceH6440 to GodH433.27You will 50prayH6279 to Him, and 51He will hearH8085 you; And you will payH7999 your vowsH5088.28You will also decideH1504 somethingH561, and it will be establishedH6965 for you; And 52lightH216 will shineH5050 on your waysH1870.29WhenH3588 53they have broughtH8213 you lowH8213, you will speakH559 with 54confidenceH1466, And He will saveH3467 the 5556humbleH7807H5869 personH7807H5869.30He will rescueH4422 one who is not innocentH5355, And he will be 57rescuedH4422 due to the cleannessH1252 of your handsH3709.”
