8But the disciplesμαθηταὶmathētaiG3101were indignantἠγανάκτησανēganaktēsanG23when they sawG3708this,and saidλέγοντες·legontesG3004, “Whyεἰς τίeis tiG1519 G5101thisαὕτη;hautēG3778wasteἀπώλειαapōleiaG684?

9For thisτοῦτοtoutoG3778perfumemightἐδύνατοedunatoG1410have been soldπραθῆναιprathēnaiG4097for a highG4183priceG4183and the moneygivenδοθῆναιdothēnaiG1325to the poorπτωχοῖς.ptōchoisG4434.”

10But JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424,awareγνοὺςgnousG1097of this, saidG3004to them,“WhyτίtiG5101do you botherκόπους παρέχετεkopous parecheteG2873 G3930the womanγυναικί;gunaikiG1135?For she has doneἠργάσατοērgasatoG2038a goodκαλὸνkalonG2570deedἔργονergonG2041to Me.

11For you alwaysπάντοτεpantoteG3842haveἔχετεecheteG2192the poorπτωχοὺςptōchousG4434with you; but you do not alwaysπάντοτεpantoteG3842haveἔχετε.echeteG2192Me.

12For when she pouredβαλοῦσαbalousaG906thisG3778perfumeμύρονmuronG3464on My bodyσώματόςsōmatosG4983,she didἐποίησεν.¶epoiēsenG4160itto prepareG1779Me for burialG1779.
