7Then the cityהָעִ֗ירha.'IrH5892wasbrokenוַתִּבָּקַ֣עva.ti.ba.Ka'H1234into, and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605themenH376of warהַמִּלְחָמָ֡הha.mil.cha.MahH4421fledיִבְרְחוּ֩yiv.re.ChuH1272and wentH3318forthH3318from the cityמֵהָעִ֜ירme.ha.'IrH5892at nightלַ֗יְלָהLay.lahH3915by wayדֶּ֜רֶךְDe.rekhH1870of the gateשַׁ֤עַרSha.'arH8179betweenבֵּין־bein-H996the two wallsהַחֹמֹתַ֙יִם֙ha.cho.mo.Ta.yimH2346whichאֲשֶׁר֙'a.SherH834wasby the king’sהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428gardenגַּ֣ןganH1588,though the Chaldeansוְכַשְׂדִּ֥יםve.khas.DimH3778wereallH5439aroundH5439the cityהָעִ֖ירha.'IrH5892.And they wentוַיֵּלְכ֖וּvai.ye.le.KhuH1980by wayדֶּ֥רֶךְDe.rekhH1870of the Arabahהָעֲרָבָֽה׃ha.'a.ra.VahH6160.

8But the armyחֵיל־cheil-H2428of the Chaldeansכַּשְׂדִּים֙kas.DimH3778pursuedוַיִּרְדְּפ֤וּvai.yir.de.FuH7291the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428andovertookוַיַּשִּׂ֥יגוּvai.ya.Si.guH5381Zedekiahצִדְקִיָּ֖הוּtzid.ki.Ya.huH6667in theplainsבְּעַֽרְבֹ֣תbe.'ar.VotH6160of Jerichoיְרֵח֑וֹye.re.ChoH3405,and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605his armyחֵיל֔וֹchei.LoH2428was scatteredנָפֹ֖צוּna.Fo.tzuH6327from him.

9Then they capturedוַֽיִּתְפְּשׂוּ֙vai.yit.pe.SuH8610the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428andbroughtוַיַּעֲל֨וּvai.ya.'a.LuH5927him up to the kingמֶ֧לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Babylonבָּבֶ֛לba.VelH894atRiblahרִבְלָ֖תָהriv.La.tahH7247in the landבְּאֶ֣רֶץbe.'E.retzH776ofHamathחֲמָ֑תcha.MatH2574, and hepassedH1696sentenceH1696on him.

10The kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Babylonבָּבֶ֛לba.VelH894slaughteredוַיִּשְׁחַ֧טvai.yish.ChatH7819the sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Zedekiahצִדְקִיָּ֖הוּtzid.ki.Ya.huH6667before his eyesלְעֵינָ֑יוle.'ei.NavH5869,and he alsoוְגַ֛םve.GamH1571slaughteredשָׁחַ֥טsha.ChatH7819allכָּל־kol-H3605theprincesשָׂרֵ֥יsa.ReiH8269of Judahיְהוּדָ֖הye.hu.DahH3063in Riblahבְּרִבְלָֽתָה׃be.riv.La.tahH7247.

11Then heblindedעִוֵּ֑ר'i.VerH5786the eyesעֵינֵ֥י'ei.NeiH5869of Zedekiahצִדְקִיָּ֖הוּtzid.ki.Ya.huH6667;and the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Babylonבָּבֶל֙ba.VelH894boundוַיַּאַסְרֵ֣הוּvai.ya.'as.Re.huH631him with bronzeבַֽנְחֻשְׁתַּ֗יִםvan.chush.Ta.yimH5178fettersH5178and broughtוַיְבִאֵ֤הוּvay.vi.'E.huH935him to Babylonבָּבֶ֔לָהba.Ve.lahH894and putוַיִּתְּנֵ֥הוּvai.yi.te.Ne.huH5414him in prisonבֵֽית הַפְּקֻדֹּ֖תveit- ha.pe.ku.DotH1004 H6486untilעַד־'ad-H5704the dayי֥וֹםYomH3117of his deathמוֹתֽוֹ׃mo.ToH4194.
