7Then the cityהָעִ֗ירha.'IrH5892was breachedוַתִּבָּקַ֣עva.ti.ba.Ka'H1234;and though the Chaldeansעַל־ וְכַשְׂדִּ֥ים'al- ve.khas.DimH3778 H5921had surroundedסָבִ֑יבsa.VivH5439the cityמֵהָעִ֜ירme.ha.'IrH5892,allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the menאַנְשֵׁ֣י'an.SheiH582of warהַמִּלְחָמָ֡הha.mil.cha.MahH4421fledיִבְרְחוּ֩yiv.re.ChuH1272וַיֵּצְא֨וּvai.ye.tze.'UH3318the cityהָעִ֖ירha.'IrH5892by nightלַ֗יְלָהLay.lahH3915by wayדֶּ֜רֶךְDe.rekhH1870of the gateשַׁ֤עַרSha.'arH8179betweenבֵּין־bein-H996the two wallsהַחֹמֹתַ֙יִם֙ha.cho.mo.Ta.yimH2346אֲשֶׁר֙'a.SherH834nearעַל־'al-H5921the king’sהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428gardenגַּ֣ןganH1588.They headedוַיֵּלְכ֖וּvai.ye.le.KhuH1980towardדֶּ֥רֶךְDe.rekhH1870the Arabahהָעֲרָבָֽה׃ha.'a.ra.VahH6160,

8but the armyחֵיל־cheil-H2428of the Chaldeansכַּשְׂדִּים֙kas.DimH3778אַחֲרֵ֣י'a.cha.ReiH310pursuedוַיִּרְדְּפ֤וּvai.yir.de.FuH7291the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428and overtookוַיַּשִּׂ֥יגוּvai.ya.Si.guH5381אֶת־'et-H853Zedekiahצִדְקִיָּ֖הוּtzid.ki.Ya.huH6667in the plainsבְּעַֽרְבֹ֣תbe.'ar.VotH6160of Jerichoיְרֵח֑וֹye.re.ChoH3405,and his wholeוְכָל־ve.kholH3605armyחֵיל֔וֹchei.LoH2428desertedנָפֹ֖צוּna.Fo.tzuH6327himמֵעָלָֽיו׃me.'a.LavH5921.

9The Chaldeansseizedוַֽיִּתְפְּשׂוּ֙vai.yit.pe.SuH8610אֶת־'et-H853the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428and brought him upוַיַּעֲל֨וּvai.ya.'a.LuH5927אֹת֜וֹ'o.ToH853toאֶל־'el-H413the kingמֶ֧לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Babylonבָּבֶ֛לba.VelH894at Riblahרִבְלָ֖תָהriv.La.tahH7247in the landבְּאֶ֣רֶץbe.'E.retzH776of Hamathחֲמָ֑תcha.MatH2574,where he pronouncedוַיְדַבֵּ֥רvay.da.BerH1696judgmentמִשְׁפָּטִֽים׃mish.pa.TimH4941onאִתּ֖וֹ'i.ToH854Zedekiah.
