2He saidוַיֹּ֡אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Takeקַח־kach-H3947nowנָ֠אna'H4994your sonבִּנְךָ֨bin.KhaH1121,your onlyיְחִֽידְךָ֤ye.chi.de.KhaH3173son, whomאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834you loveאָהַ֙בְתָּ֙'a.Hav.taH157,Isaacיִצְחָ֔קyitz.ChakH3327,and goוְלֶךְ־ve.lekh-H1980to the landאֶ֖רֶץ'E.retzH776ofMoriahהַמֹּרִיָּ֑הha.mo.ri.YahH4179,and offerוְהַעֲלֵ֤הוּve.ha.'a.Le.huH5927him thereשָׁם֙shamH8033as aburntלְעֹלָ֔הle.'o.LahH5930offeringH5930on oneאַחַ֣ד'a.ChadH259of the mountainsהֶֽהָרִ֔יםhe.ha.RimH2022of whichאֲשֶׁ֖ר'a.SherH834I will tellאֹמַ֥ר'o.MarH559you.”

3So Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֜ם'av.ra.HamH85roseH7925earlyוַיַּשְׁכֵּ֨םvai.yash.KemH7925in the morningבַּבֹּ֗קֶרba.Bo.kerH1242and saddledוַֽיַּחֲבֹשׁ֙vai.ya.cha.VoshH2280his donkeyחֲמֹר֔וֹcha.mo.RoH2543,and tookוַיִּקַּ֞חvai.yi.KachH3947twoשְׁנֵ֤יshe.NeiH8147of his youngH5288menH5288with him and Isaacיִצְחָ֣קyitz.ChakH3327his sonבְּנ֑וֹbe.NoH1121;and he splitוַיְבַקַּע֙vay.va.Ka'H1234woodעֲצֵ֣י'a.TzeiH6086for the burntעֹלָ֔ה'o.LahH5930offeringH5930,and aroseוַיָּ֣קָםvai.Ya.komH6965and wentוַיֵּ֔לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980to the placeהַמָּק֖וֹםha.ma.KomH4725of whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834Godהָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ha.'E.lo.HimH430had toldאָֽמַר־'a.mar-H559him.

5Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֜ם'av.ra.HamH85saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to his youngH5288menH5288, “Stayשְׁבוּ־she.vu-H3427hereפֹּה֙pohH6311with the donkeyהַחֲמ֔וֹרha.cha.MorH2543,and I and the ladH5288will goנֵלְכָ֖הne.le.KhahH1980overH5704 H3541thereH5704 H3541;and we will worshipוְנִֽשְׁתַּחֲוֶ֖הve.nish.ta.cha.VehH7812and returnוְנָשׁ֥וּבָהve.na.Shu.vahH7725to you.”

6Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֜ם'av.ra.HamH85tookוַיִּקַּ֨חvai.yi.KachH3947the woodעֲצֵ֣י'a.TzeiH6086of the burntהָעֹלָ֗הha.'o.LahH5930offeringH5930andlaidוַיָּ֙שֶׂם֙vai.Ya.semH7760it on Isaacיִצְחָ֣קyitz.ChakH3327his sonבְּנ֔וֹbe.NoH1121,and he tookוַיִּקַּ֣חvai.yi.KachH3947in his handבְּיָד֔וֹbe.ya.DoH3027the fireהָאֵ֖שׁha.'EshH784and the knifeהַֽמַּאֲכֶ֑לֶתha.ma.'a.Khe.letH3979.So the twoשְׁנֵיהֶ֖םshe.nei.HemH8147of them walkedוַיֵּלְכ֥וּvai.ye.le.KhuH1980on togetherH3164.

7Isaacיִצְחָ֜קyitz.ChakH3327spokeוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֤ם'av.ra.HamH85his fatherאָבִיו֙'a.VivH1and saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “My fatherאָבִ֔י'a.ViH1!”And he saidוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Hereהִנֶּ֣נִּֽיhi.Ne.niH2009I am, my sonבְנִ֑יve.NiH1121.”And he saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Beholdהִנֵּ֤הhi.NehH2009,the fireהָאֵשׁ֙ha.'EshH784and the woodוְהָ֣עֵצִ֔יםve.Ha.'e.TzimH6086,but whereוְאַיֵּ֥הve.'ai.YehH346is thelambהַשֶּׂ֖הha.SehH7716for the burntלְעֹלָֽה׃le.'o.LahH5930offeringH5930?”

8Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֔ם'av.ra.HamH85saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, “Godאֱלֹהִ֞ים'E.lo.HimH430willprovideיִרְאֶה־yir.'eh-H7200for Himself the lambהַשֶּׂ֛הha.SehH7716for the burntלְעֹלָ֖הle.'o.LahH5930offeringH5930,my sonבְּנִ֑יbe.NiH1121.”So the twoשְׁנֵיהֶ֖םshe.nei.HemH8147of them walkedוַיֵּלְכ֥וּvai.ye.le.KhuH1980on togetherH3164.

9Then they cameוַיָּבֹ֗אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935tothe placeהַמָּקוֹם֮ha.ma.kOmH4725of whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834Godהָאֱלֹהִים֒ha.'E.lo.HimH430had toldאָֽמַר־'a.mar-H559him; and Abrahamאַבְרָהָם֙'av.ra.HamH85builtוַיִּ֨בֶןvai.Yi.venH1129the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַha.miz.Be.achH4196thereשָׁ֤םshamH8033and arrangedוַֽיַּעֲרֹ֖ךְvai.ya.'a.RokhH6186the woodהָעֵצִ֑יםha.'e.TzimH6086,and boundוַֽיַּעֲקֹד֙vai.ya.'a.KodH6123his sonבְּנ֔וֹbe.NoH1121Isaacיִצְחָ֣קyitz.ChakH3327andlaidוַיָּ֤שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760him on the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַha.miz.Be.achH4196,on topמִמַּ֖עַלmi.Ma.'alH4605of the woodלָעֵצִֽים׃la.'e.TzimH6086.

10Abrahamאַבְרָהָם֙'av.ra.HamH85stretchedוַיִּשְׁלַ֤חvai.yish.LachH7971out his handיָד֔וֹya.DoH3027and tookוַיִּקַּ֖חvai.yi.KachH3947the knifeהַֽמַּאֲכֶ֑לֶתha.ma.'a.Khe.letH3979to slayלִשְׁחֹ֖טlish.ChotH7819his sonבְּנֽוֹ׃be.NoH1121.

11Butthe angelמַלְאַ֤ךְmal.'AkhH4397of the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068calledוַיִּקְרָ֨אvai.yik.Ra'H7121to him from heavenהַשָּׁמַ֔יִםha.sha.Ma.yimH8064and saidוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֣ם׀'av.ra.HamH85,Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֑ם'av.ra.HamH85!”And he saidוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Hereהִנֵּֽנִי׃hi.Ne.niH2009I am.”

12He saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Do not stretchתִּשְׁלַ֤חtish.LachH7971out your handיָֽדְךָ֙ya.de.KhaH3027againstאֶל־'el-H413the ladהַנַּ֔עַרha.Na.'arH5288,and doתַּ֥עַשׂTa.'asH6213nothingמְא֑וּמָּהme.'U.mahH408 H3972to him; for nowעַתָּ֣ה'a.TahH6258I knowיָדַ֗עְתִּיya.Da'.tiH3045that youfearH3372Godאֱלֹהִים֙'E.lo.HimH430,since you have not withheldחָשַׂ֛כְתָּcha.Sakh.taH2820your sonבִּנְךָ֥bin.KhaH1121,your onlyיְחִידְךָ֖ye.chi.de.KhaH3173son, from Me.”

13Then Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֜ם'av.ra.HamH85raisedוַיִּשָּׂ֨אvai.yi.Sa'H5375his eyesעֵינָ֗יו'ei.NavH5869and lookedוַיַּרְא֙vai.yaR'H7200,and beholdוְהִנֵּה־ve.hi.neh-H2009,behindאַחַ֕ר'a.CharH310hima ramאַ֔יִל'A.yilH352caughtנֶאֱחַ֥זne.'e.ChazH270in the thicketבַּסְּבַ֖ךְba.se.VakhH5442by his hornsבְּקַרְנָ֑יוbe.kar.NavH7161;and Abrahamאַבְרָהָם֙'av.ra.HamH85wentוַיֵּ֤לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980and tookוַיִּקַּ֣חvai.yi.KachH3947the ramהָאַ֔יִלha.'A.yilH352and offeredוַיַּעֲלֵ֥הוּvai.ya.'a.Le.huH5927him up for a burntלְעֹלָ֖הle.'o.LahH5930offeringH5930in the placeתַּ֥חַתTa.chatH8478of his sonבְּנֽוֹ׃be.NoH1121.

14Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֛ם'av.ra.HamH85calledוַיִּקְרָ֧אvai.yik.Ra'H7121the nameשֵֽׁם־shem-H8034of that placeהַמָּק֥וֹםha.ma.KomH4725The Lordיְהוָ֣ה׀Yah.wehH3068Will Provideיִרְאֶ֑הyir.'EhH7200,as it is saidיֵאָמֵ֣רye.'a.MerH559to this dayהַיּ֔וֹםhai.YomH3117, “In the mountבְּהַ֥רbe.HarH2022of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068it willbe providedיֵרָאֶֽה׃ye.ra.'EhH7200.”

15Then the angelמַלְאַ֥ךְmal.'AkhH4397of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068calledוַיִּקְרָ֛אvai.yik.Ra'H7121to Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֑ם'av.ra.HamH85a secondשֵׁנִ֖יתshe.NitH8145timeH8145from heavenהַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ha.sha.Ma.yimH8064,

16and saidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “By Myself I have swornנִשְׁבַּ֖עְתִּיnish.Ba'.tiH7650,declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,becauseכִּ֗י יַ֚עַןKi Ya.'anH3588 H3282you have doneעָשִׂ֙יתָ֙'a.Si.taH6213thisהַזֶּ֔הha.ZehH2088thingהַדָּבָ֣רha.da.VarH1697and have not withheldחָשַׂ֖כְתָּcha.Sakh.taH2820your sonבִּנְךָ֥bin.KhaH1121,your onlyיְחִידֶֽךָ׃ye.chi.De.khaH3173son,
