5“Stayשְׁבוּ־she.vu-H3427hereפֹּה֙pohH6311withעִֽם־'im-H5973the donkeyהַחֲמ֔וֹרha.cha.MorH2543,”Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֜ם'av.ra.HamH85toldוַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֶל־vai.Yo.mer 'el-H559 H413his servantsנְעָרָ֗יוne.'a.RavH5288. “The boyוְהַנַּ֔עַרve.ha.Na.'arH5288and Iוַאֲנִ֣יva.'a.NiH589will goנֵלְכָ֖הne.le.KhahH1980overעַד־'ad-H5704thereכֹּ֑הKohH3541to worshipוְנִֽשְׁתַּחֲוֶ֖הve.nish.ta.cha.VehH7812,and then we will returnוְנָשׁ֥וּבָהve.na.Shu.vahH7725to youאֲלֵיכֶֽם׃'a.lei.KhemH413.”

6Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֜ם'av.ra.HamH85אֶת־'et-H853tookוַיִּקַּ֨חvai.yi.KachH3947the woodעֲצֵ֣י'a.TzeiH6086for the burnt offeringהָעֹלָ֗הha.'o.LahH5930and placedוַיָּ֙שֶׂם֙vai.Ya.semH7760it onעַל־'al-H5921his sonבְּנ֔וֹbe.NoH1121Isaacיִצְחָ֣קyitz.ChakH3327.He himself carriedוַיִּקַּ֣ח בְּיָד֔וֹvai.yi.Kach be.ya.DoH3947 H3027אֶת־'et-H853the fireהָאֵ֖שׁha.'EshH784וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853and the sacrificial knifeהַֽמַּאֲכֶ֑לֶתha.ma.'a.Khe.letH3979,and the twoשְׁנֵיהֶ֖םshe.nei.HemH8147of them walked onוַיֵּלְכ֥וּvai.ye.le.KhuH1980togetherיַחְדָּֽו׃yach.DavH3162.

7Then Isaacיִצְחָ֜קyitz.ChakH3327saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559toאֶל־'el-H413his fatherאָבִיו֙'a.VivH1Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֤ם'av.ra.HamH85וַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “My fatherאָבִ֔י'a.ViH1!” “Here I amהִנֶּ֣נִּֽיhi.Ne.niH2009,my sonבְנִ֑יve.NiH1121,”he repliedוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559. “The fireהָאֵשׁ֙ha.'EshH784and the woodוְהָ֣עֵצִ֔יםve.Ha.'e.TzimH6086are hereהִנֵּ֤הhi.NehH2009,”said Isaacוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “but whereוְאַיֵּ֥הve.'ai.YehH346is the lambהַשֶּׂ֖הha.SehH7716for the burnt offeringלְעֹלָֽה׃le.'o.LahH5930?”

8Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֔ם'av.ra.HamH85answeredוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, “Godאֱלֹהִ֞ים'E.lo.HimH430Himselfwill provideיִרְאֶה־yir.'eh-H7200the lambהַשֶּׂ֛הha.SehH7716for the burnt offeringלְעֹלָ֖הle.'o.LahH5930,my sonבְּנִ֑יbe.NiH1121.”And the twoשְׁנֵיהֶ֖םshe.nei.HemH8147walked onוַיֵּלְכ֥וּvai.ye.le.KhuH1980togetherיַחְדָּֽו׃yach.DavH3162.

9When they arrivedוַיָּבֹ֗אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935atאֶֽל־'el-H413the placeהַמָּקוֹם֮ha.ma.kOmH4725אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834Godהָאֱלֹהִים֒ha.'E.lo.HimH430had designatedאָֽמַר־'a.mar-H559,Abrahamאַבְרָהָם֙'av.ra.HamH85אֶת־'et-H853builtוַיִּ֨בֶןvai.Yi.venH1129the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַha.miz.Be.achH4196thereשָׁ֤םshamH8033and arrangedוַֽיַּעֲרֹ֖ךְvai.ya.'a.RokhH6186אֶת־'et-H853the woodהָעֵצִ֑יםha.'e.TzimH6086.He boundוַֽיַּעֲקֹד֙vai.ya.'a.KodH6123אֶת־'et-H853his sonבְּנ֔וֹbe.NoH1121Isaacיִצְחָ֣קyitz.ChakH3327and placedוַיָּ֤שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760himאֹתוֹ֙'o.ToH853onעַל־'al-H5921the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַha.miz.Be.achH4196,atopמִמַּ֖עַלmi.Ma.'alH4605the woodלָעֵצִֽים׃la.'e.TzimH6086.

10Then Abrahamאַבְרָהָם֙'av.ra.HamH85אֶת־'et-H853reached outוַיִּשְׁלַ֤חvai.yish.LachH7971his handיָד֔וֹya.DoH3027and tookוַיִּקַּ֖חvai.yi.KachH3947אֶת־'et-H853the knifeהַֽמַּאֲכֶ֑לֶתha.ma.'a.Khe.letH3979to slaughterלִשְׁחֹ֖טlish.ChotH7819אֶת־'et-H853his sonבְּנֽוֹ׃be.NoH1121.

The LORD Provides the Sacrifice

11Just then the angelמַלְאַ֤ךְmal.'AkhH4397of the LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068called outוַיִּקְרָ֨אvai.yik.Ra'H7121to himאֵלָ֜יו'e.LavH413fromמִן־min-H4480heavenהַשָּׁמַ֔יִםha.sha.Ma.yimH8064וַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֣ם׀'av.ra.HamH85,Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֑ם'av.ra.HamH85!” “Here I amהִנֵּֽנִי׃hi.Ne.niH2009,”he repliedוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559.

12“Do notאַל־'al-H408layתִּשְׁלַ֤חtish.LachH7971a handיָֽדְךָ֙ya.de.KhaH3027onאֶל־'el-H413the boyהַנַּ֔עַר וְאַל־ha.Na.'ar ve.'al-H5288 H408or doתַּ֥עַשׂTa.'asH6213anythingמְא֑וּמָּהme.'U.mahH3972to him,”saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559the angel, “forכִּ֣י׀kiH3588nowעַתָּ֣ה'a.TahH6258I knowיָדַ֗עְתִּיya.Da'.tiH3045thatכִּֽי־ki-H3588youאַ֔תָּה'A.tahH859fearיְרֵ֤אye.Re'H3373Godאֱלֹהִים֙'E.lo.HimH430,since you have notוְלֹ֥אve.Lo'H3808withheldחָשַׂ֛כְתָּcha.Sakh.taH2820אֶת־'et-H853your onlyיְחִידְךָ֖ye.chi.de.KhaH3173sonבִּנְךָ֥bin.KhaH1121אֶת־'et-H853from meמִמֶּֽנִּי׃mi.Me.niH4480.”

13Then Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֜ם'av.ra.HamH85אֶת־'et-H853looked upוַיִּשָּׂ֨א עֵינָ֗יוvai.yi.Sa' 'ei.NavH5375 H5869and sawוַיַּרְא֙vai.yaR'H7200וְהִנֵּה־ve.hi.neh-H2009behindאַחַ֕ר'a.CharH310hima ramאַ֔יִל'A.yilH352in a thicketבַּסְּבַ֖ךְba.se.VakhH5442,caughtנֶאֱחַ֥זne.'e.ChazH270by its hornsבְּקַרְנָ֑יוbe.kar.NavH7161.Soאַבְרָהָם֙'av.ra.HamH85hewentוַיֵּ֤לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980and tookוַיִּקַּ֣חvai.yi.KachH3947אֶת־'et-H853the ramהָאַ֔יִלha.'A.yilH352and offeredוַיַּעֲלֵ֥הוּvai.ya.'a.Le.huH5927it as a burnt offeringלְעֹלָ֖הle.'o.LahH5930in place ofתַּ֥חַתTa.chatH8478his sonבְּנֽוֹ׃be.NoH1121.

14And Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֛ם'av.ra.HamH85calledוַיִּקְרָ֧א שֵֽׁם־vai.yik.Ra' shem-H7121 H8034thatהַה֖וּאha.Hu'H1931placeהַמָּק֥וֹםha.ma.KomH4725The LORDיְהוָ֣ה׀Yah.wehH3068Will Provideיִרְאֶ֑הyir.'EhH7200.Soאֲשֶׁר֙'a.SherH834to this dayהַיּ֔וֹםhai.YomH3117it is saidיֵאָמֵ֣רye.'a.MerH559, “On the mountainבְּהַ֥רbe.HarH2022of the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068it will be providedיֵרָאֶֽה׃ye.ra.'EhH7200.”

15And the angelמַלְאַ֥ךְmal.'AkhH4397of the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068calledוַיִּקְרָ֛אvai.yik.Ra'H7121toאֶל־'el-H413Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֑ם'av.ra.HamH85fromמִן־min-H4480heavenהַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ha.sha.Ma.yimH8064a second timeשֵׁנִ֖יתshe.NitH8145,

16sayingוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “By MyselfI have swornנִשְׁבַּ֖עְתִּיnish.Ba'.tiH7650,declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the LORDיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,thatכִּ֗יKiH3588becauseיַ֚עַןYa.'anH3282אֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834you have doneעָשִׂ֙יתָ֙'a.Si.taH6213אֶת־'et-H853thisהַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֔הha.da.Var ha.ZehH2088 H1697and have notוְלֹ֥אve.Lo'H3808withheldחָשַׂ֖כְתָּcha.Sakh.taH2820אֶת־'et-H853your onlyיְחִידֶֽךָ׃ye.chi.De.khaH3173sonבִּנְךָ֥bin.KhaH1121אֶת־'et-H853,

18And through your offspringבְזַרְעֲךָ֔ve.zar.'a.KhaH2233allכֹּ֖לkolH3605nationsגּוֹיֵ֣יgo.YeiH1471of the earthהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776will be blessedוְהִתְבָּרֲכ֣וּve.hit.ba.ra.KhuH1288,becauseעֵ֕קֶב'E.kevH6118אֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834you have obeyedשָׁמַ֖עְתָּsha.Ma'.taH8085My voiceבְּקֹלִֽי׃be.ko.LiH6963.”

19Abrahamאַבְרָהָם֙'av.ra.HamH85went backוַיָּ֤שָׁבvai.Ya.shovH7725toאֶל־'el-H413his servantsנְעָרָ֔יוne.'a.RavH5288,and they got upוַיָּקֻ֛מוּvai.ya.Ku.muH6965and set outוַיֵּלְכ֥וּvai.ye.le.KhuH1980togetherיַחְדָּ֖וyach.DavH3162forאֶל־'el-H413BeershebaH884.And Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֖ם'av.ra.HamH85settledוַיֵּ֥שֶׁבvai.Ye.shevH3427inH884BeershebaH884.
