Zechariah 9
Darby Bible
1The burdenH4853 of the wordH1697 of Jehovah, in the landH776 of Hadrach, and [on] DamascusH1834 shall it restH4496; (for Jehovah hath an eyeH5869 upon menH120, and upon all the tribesH7626 of IsraelH3478;) 2and alsoH1571 [on] HamathH2574 [which] bordereth thereon; on TyreH6865 and Zidon, though she be veryH3966 wiseH2449. 3And TyreH6865 hath builtH1129 herself a stronghold, and hath heaped up silverH3701 as the dustH6083, and fine goldH2742 as the mire of the streetsH2351. 4Behold, the LordH136 will takeH3423 possessionH3423 of her, and he will smite her power in the seaH3220; and she shall be devouredH398 with fireH784. 5AshkelonH831 shall seeH7200 [it], and fearH3372; Gazah also, and she shall be greatly pained; EkronH6138 also, for her expectation shall be putH954 to shameH954: and the kingH4428 shall perishH6 from Gazah, and AshkelonH831 shall not be inhabitedH3427. 6And a bastard shall dwellH3427 in AshdodH795, and I will cutH3772 off the prideH1347 of the PhilistinesH6430; 7and I will take awayH5493 his bloodH1818 out of his mouthH6310, and his abominationsH8251 from between his teethH8127; but he that remaineth, he alsoH1571 shall belongH1961 to our 1GodH430, and shall beH1961 as a leader in JudahH3063, and EkronH6138 as a JebusiteH2983. 8And I will encampH2583 about my houseH1004 because of the army, because of those that passH5674 by and that returnH7725; and the exactor shall not passH5674 through them any more: for nowH6258 have I seenH7200 [it] with mine eyesH5869. 9RejoiceH1523 greatly, daughterH1323 of ZionH6726; shoutH7321, daughterH1323 of JerusalemH3389! Behold, thy KingH4428 cometh to thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly and ridingH7392 upon an ass, even upon a colt the foal of an ass. 10And I will cutH3772 off the chariotH7393 from EphraimH669, and the horseH5483 from JerusalemH3389; and the battle-bow shall be cutH3772 off. And he shall speakH1696 peaceH7965 unto the nationsH1471; and his dominion shall be from seaH3220 to seaH3220, and from the riverH5104 to the endsH657 of the earthH776. 11As for thee alsoH1571, by the bloodH1818 of thy covenantH1285, I will sendH7971 forthH7971 thy prisonersH615 out of the pitH953 wherein is no waterH4325. 12TurnH7725 again to the stronghold, prisonersH615 of hopeH8615! even to-day do I declareH5046 I will render doubleH4932 unto thee. 13For I have bentH1869 JudahH3063 for me, I have filledH4390 the bowH7198 with EphraimH669; and I will raise up thy sonsH1121, O ZionH6726, against thy sonsH1121, O GreeceH3120, and makeH7760 thee like the swordH2719 of a mightyH1368 manH1368. 14And Jehovah shall be seenH7200 over them, and his arrowH2671 shall goH1980 forthH3318 as the lightningH1300; and the Lord Jehovah will blowH8628 the trumpetH7782, and will march with whirlwinds of the southH8486. 15Jehovah of hostsH6635 will defendH1598 them; and they shall devourH398, and shall tread down the sling-stones; and they shall drinkH8354, [and] make a noise as from wineH3196; and they shall be filledH4390 like a bowlH4219, like the cornersH2106 of the altarH4196. 16And Jehovah their 2GodH430 shall saveH3467 them in that dayH3117 as the flockH6629 of his peopleH5971; for [they shall be as] the stonesH68 of a crownH5145, lifted up upon his landH127. 17For howH4100 great is his goodnessH2898, and howH4100 great is his beautyH3308! Corn shall make the youngH970 menH970 flourish, and newH8492 wineH8492 the maidens.
