2AndJehoashH3060did whatwasrightinthesightofJehovah, allthedayswherein Jehoiadathepriest instructedhim.
3Only,thehighplaceswerenot removed:thepeoplestill sacrificedandburned incenseonthehighplaces.
4AndJehoash saidtothepriests,AllthemoneyofthehallowedthingsthatisbroughtintothehouseofJehovah,themoneyofeveryonethatpasses [theaccount],themoneyatwhich every manisvalued, [and]allthemoneythatcomesintoanyman's hearttobringintothehouseofJehovah,
5letthepriestsH3548takeit,everymanH376ofhisacquaintance;andletthemrepairthebreachesofthehouseH1004,whereveranybreachisfound.
6Anditwas[sothat]inthetwenty-third yearofking Jehoash,thepriestsH3548hadnotrepairedH2388thebreachesofthehouseH1004.
7ThenkingH4428JehoashH3060calledforJehoiadathepriestH3548,andthepriestsH3548,andsaidtothem,WhyhaveyenotrepairedH2388thebreachesofthehouseH1004?Andnowreceivenomoneyofyouracquaintances,butgiveitforthebreachesofthehouseH1004.
8AndthepriestsH3548consentedtoreceiveH3947nomoneyH3701ofthepeople,andthattheyshouldonlyrepairH2388thebreachesofthehouseH1004.
9AndJehoiadathepriestH3548tookH3947achest,andboredaholeinthelid,andsetitbesidethealtar,ontheright sideasonecomesintothehouseH1004ofJehovah;andthepriestsH3548thatkeptthedoorputintoitallthemoneyH3701broughtintothehouseH1004ofJehovah.
10AnditcameH935topasswhentheysawthattherewasmuchmoneyH3701inthechestH727,thattheking's scribeandthehighpriestH3548cameH935up,andtheytiedupandcountedthemoneyH3701thatwasfoundinthehouseH1004ofJehovah.
11AndtheygavethemoneyH3701, weighedoutintothehandsofthemthatdidthework,whowereH1961appointedH4487overthehouseH1004ofJehovah;andtheylaiditouttothecarpentersandbuildersthatwroughtuponthehouseH1004ofJehovah,
12andtomasons,andhewersofstone,andtobuytimberandhewn stonetorepairthebreachesofthehouseH1004ofJehovah,andforallthathadtobelaidoutonthehouseH1004forrepairs.
13HowevertherewerenotmadeH2388forthehouseH1004ofJehovahbasonsofsilver, knives, bowls, trumpets, noranyutensilofgoldorutensilofsilver,ofthemoneythatwasbroughtH3318[into]thehouseH1004ofJehovah;
14buttheygavethattotheworkmen,andrepairedthehouseH1004ofJehovahwithit.
15AndtheydidnotreckonwiththemenintowhosehandtheygaveH5414themoneytobebestowedonworkmen;fortheydealt faithfully.
16ThemoneyH3701oftrespass-offerings,andthemoneyH3701ofsin-offerings,wasnotbroughtintothehouseofJehovah:itwasforthepriests.
17ThenHazael kingofSyriawentH935up,andfoughtagainstGath,andtookit.AndHazaelsethisfacetogoH935upagainstJerusalem.
18AndJehoashkingH4428ofJudahtookH3920allthehallowed thingsthatJehoshaphatandJehoramandAhaziah,hisfathers,kingsH4428ofJudah,haddedicated,andhisownhallowed things,andallthegold foundinthetreasuresofthehouseofJehovahandintheking's house,andsentittoHazaelH2371kingH4428ofSyria;andhewentH5927awayfromJerusalemH3389.
19AndtherestoftheactsofJoash,andallthathedid,aretheynot writteninthebookofthechroniclesofthekingsH4428ofJudahH3063?
20Andhisservants roseupandmadeH6213aconspiracy,andsmoteJoashH3101inthehouseofMillo,atthedescentofSilla.
21AndJozacharthesonofShimeathandJehozabadthesonofShomer,hisservantsH5650,smotehimandhedied;andtheyburiedhimwithhisfathersinthecityofDavid.AndAmaziahhisson reignedinhisstead.
