Numbers 15
1Then the LORDH3068 saidH1696 toH413 MosesH4872H559, 2“SpeakH1696 toH413 the IsraelitesH1121H3478 and tell themH559: AfterH3588 you enterH935H413 the landH776 thatH834 IH589 am givingH5414 you as a homeH4186 3and you presentH6213 a food offeringH801 to the LORDH3068 fromH4480 the herdH1241 orH176H4480 flockH6629 to produceH6213 a pleasingH5207 aromaH7381 to the LORDH3068—either a burnt offeringH5930 orH176 a sacrificeH2077, for a specialH6381 vowH5088 orH176 freewill offeringH5071 orH176 appointed feastH4150— 4then the one presentingH7126 his offeringH7133 to the LORDH3068 shall also presentH7126 a grain offeringH4503 of a tenth of an ephahH6241 of fine flourH55601 mixedH1101 with a quarterH7243 hinH1969 of olive oilH8081.2 5WithH5921 the burnt offeringH5930 orH176 sacrificeH2077 of eachH259 lambH3532, you are to prepareH6213 a quarterH7243 hinH1969 of wineH3196 as a drink offeringH5262.
With a ramH352 you are to prepareH6213 a grain offeringH4503 of two-tenthsH8147H6241 of an ephah3 of fine flourH5560 mixedH1101 with a thirdH7992 of a hinH1969 of olive oilH8081,4 7and a thirdH7992 of a hinH1969 of wineH3196 as a drink offeringH5262, a pleasingH5207 aromaH7381 to the LORDH3068.
8WhenH3588 you prepareH6213 a youngH1121 bullH1241 as a burnt offeringH5930 orH176 sacrificeH2077 to fulfillH6381 a vowH5088 orH176 as a peace offeringH8002 to the LORDH3068, 9presentH7126 withH5921H1121 the bullH1241 a grain offeringH4503 of three-tenthsH7969H6241 of an ephah of fine flourH55605 mixedH1101 with halfH2677 a hinH1969 of olive oilH8081.6 10Also presentH7126 halfH2677 a hinH1969 of wineH3196 as a drink offeringH5262. It is a food offeringH801, a pleasingH5207 aromaH7381 to the LORDH3068. 11ThisH3602 is to be doneH6213 for eachH259 bullH7794, ramH352H259H176, lambH7716H3532, orH176 goatH5795. 12This is howH3602 you must prepareH6213 each oneH259H4557, no matter howH834 manyH4557.
13EveryoneH3605 who is native-bornH249 shall prepareH6213 theseH428 things in this wayH3602 when he presentsH7126 a food offeringH801 as a pleasingH5207 aromaH7381 to the LORDH3068. 14And for the generations to comeH1755, ifH3588 a foreignerH1616 residingH1481 withH854 you orH176 someone elseH834 among youH8432 wants to prepareH6213 a food offeringH801 as a pleasingH5207 aromaH7381 to the LORDH3068, he is to doH6213H3651 exactly asH834 you doH6213. 15The assemblyH6951 is to have the sameH259 statuteH2708 both for you and for the foreign residentH1616H1481; it is a permanentH5769 statuteH2708 for the generations to comeH1755. You and the foreignerH1616 shall beH1961 the same beforeH6440 the LORDH3068. 16The sameH259 lawH8451 and the sameH259 ordinanceH4941 will applyH1961 both to you and to the foreignerH1616 residingH1481 with youH854.”
17Then the LORDH3068H413 saidH1696 to MosesH4872H559, 18“SpeakH1696 toH413 the IsraelitesH1121H3478 and tell themH559: When you enterH935H413 the landH776 to whichH834 IH589 am bringing youH935 19and you eatH398 the foodH3899 of the landH776H1961, you shall liftH7311 up an offeringH8641 to the LORDH3068. 20From the firstH7225 of your doughH6182, you are to liftH7311 up a cakeH2471 as a contributionH8641; offerH7311 itH853 just likeH3651 an offeringH8641 from the threshing floorH1637. 21Throughout your generationsH1755, you are to giveH5414 the LORDH3068 an offeringH8641 from the firstH7225 of your doughH6182.
Offerings for Unintentional Sins
22Now ifH3588 you stray unintentionallyH7686 and do notH3808 obeyH6213 allH3605 theseH428 commandmentsH4687 thatH834 the LORDH3068 has spokenH1696 toH413 MosesH4872— 23allH3605 thatH834 the LORDH3068H413 has commandedH6680 you throughH3027 MosesH4872 fromH4480 the dayH3117 the LORDH3068 gave themH6680 and continuing throughH1973 the generations to comeH1755— 24and ifH518 it was doneH6213 unintentionallyH7684 without the knowledgeH5869 of the congregationH5712, then the wholeH3605 congregationH5712 is to prepareH6213 oneH259 young bullH6499H1121H1241 as a burnt offeringH5930, a pleasingH5207 aromaH7381 to the LORDH3068, with its grain offeringH4503 and drink offeringH5262 according to the regulationH4941, and oneH259 male goatH8163H5795 as a sin offeringH2403.
25The priestH3548 is to make atonementH3722 forH5921 the wholeH3605 congregationH5712H1121 of IsraelH3478, so that they may be forgivenH5545; forH3588 the sin was unintentionalH7684 and theyH1992 have broughtH935 to the LORDH3068 a food offeringH7133H801 and a sin offeringH2403, presented beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 forH5921 their unintentional sinH7684. 26Then the wholeH3605 congregationH5712H1121 of IsraelH3478 and the foreignersH1616 residingH1481 among themH8432 will be forgivenH5545, sinceH3588 it happened to allH3605 the peopleH5971 unintentionallyH7684.
27Also, ifH518 oneH259 personH5315 sinsH2398 unintentionallyH7684, he is to presentH7126 a year-oldH1323H8141 female goatH5795 as a sin offeringH2403. 28And the priestH3548 shall make atonementH3722 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 on behalf ofH5921 the personH5315 who erredH7684 by sinning unintentionallyH7683H2398; and when atonement has been madeH3722 for himH5921, he will be forgivenH5545. 29You shall haveH1961 the sameH259 lawH8451 for the one who actsH6213 in errorH7684, whether he is a native-bornH249 IsraeliteH1121H3478 or a foreignerH1616 residingH1481 among youH8432.
30But the personH5315 whoH834 sins defiantlyH6213H3027H7311, whetherH4480 a nativeH249 orH4480 foreignerH1616, blasphemesH1442 the LORDH3068. ThatH1931 personH5315H1931 shall be cut offH3772 from amongH7130 his peopleH5971. 31HeH5315H1931 shall certainly be cut offH3772, becauseH3588 he has despisedH959 the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 andH853 brokenH6565 His commandmentH4687; his guiltH5771 remains on him.”
A Sabbath-Breaker Stoned
(Exodus 31:12–17)
32While the IsraelitesH1121H3478 wereH1961 in the wildernessH4057, a manH376 was foundH4672 gatheringH7197 woodH6086 on the SabbathH7676 dayH3117. 33Those who foundH4672 the man gatheringH7197 woodH6086 broughtH7126 himH853 toH413 MosesH4872H413, AaronH175H413, and the wholeH3605 congregationH5712, 34and becauseH3588 it had not beenH3808 declaredH6567 whatH4100 should be doneH6213 to him, they placedH5117 himH853 in custodyH4929.
35And the LORDH3068 saidH559 toH413 MosesH4872, “The manH376 must surely be put to deathH4191. The wholeH3605 congregationH5712 is to stoneH7275H68 himH853 outsideH2351 the campH4264.”
36So the wholeH3605 congregationH5712H413 tookH3318 the man outsideH2351 the campH4264 and stonedH7275 himH68 to deathH4191, asH834 the LORDH3068 had commandedH6680 MosesH4872.
The Law of Tassels
37And the LORDH3068 saidH559 toH413 MosesH4872H559, 38“SpeakH1696 toH413 the IsraelitesH1121H3478 and tell themH559 thatH413 throughout the generations to comeH1755 they are to makeH6213 for themselves tasselsH6734 forH5921 the cornersH3671 of their garmentsH899, withH5414 a blueH8504 cordH6616 onH5921 each tasselH6734H3671. 39These will serveH1961 as tasselsH6734 for you to look atH7200, so that you may rememberH2142 allH3605 the commandmentsH4687 of the LORDH3068, that you may obeyH6213 themH853 and notH3808 prostitute yourselvesH2181H310 by followingH8446H310 your own heartH3824H310 and your own eyesH5869.
40ThenH4616 you will rememberH2142 and obeyH6213 allH3605 My commandmentsH4687, and you will beH1961 holyH6918 to your GodH430. 41IH589 am the LORDH3068 your GodH430 whoH834 brought you outH3318 of the landH776 of EgyptH4714 to beH1961 your GodH430. IH589 am the LORDH3068 your GodH430.”
