Numbers 19
Then the LORDH3068 saidH1696 toH413 MosesH4872H413 and AaronH175H559, 2“ThisH2063 is the statuteH2708 of the lawH8451 thatH834 the LORDH3068H559 has commandedH6680: InstructH1696H413 the IsraelitesH1121H3478 to bringH3947 youH413 an unblemishedH8549 redH122 heiferH6510 thatH834 has noH369 defectH3971 and has neverH3808 been placedH5927 under a yokeH5923. 3GiveH5414 it toH413 EleazarH499 the priestH3548, and he will have it broughtH3318 outsideH2351 the campH4264 and slaughteredH7819 in his presenceH6440.
EleazarH499 the priestH3548 is to takeH3947 some of its bloodH1818 on his fingerH676 and sprinkleH5137 it sevenH7651 timesH6471 towardH413H5227 the frontH6440 of the TentH168 of MeetingH4150. 5Then the heiferH6510 must be burnedH8313 in his sightH5869. Its hideH5785, its fleshH1320, and its bloodH1818 are to be burnedH8313, along withH5921 its dungH6569. 6The priestH3548 is to takeH3947 cedarH730 woodH6086, hyssopH231, and scarlet woolH8144H8438 and throwH7993 themH413 ontoH8432 the burningH8316 heiferH6510.
Then the priestH3548 must washH3526 his clothesH899 and batheH7364 his bodyH1320 in waterH4325; after thatH310 he may enterH935H413 the campH4264, but heH3548 will be ceremonially uncleanH2930 untilH5704 eveningH6153. 8The one who burnedH8313 the heifer must also washH3526 his clothesH899 and batheH7364 his bodyH1320H4325 in waterH4325, and he too will be ceremonially uncleanH2930 untilH5704 eveningH6153.
Then a manH376 who is ceremonially cleanH2889 is to gather upH622 the ashesH665 of the heiferH6510 and storeH5117 them in a ceremonially cleanH2889 placeH4725 outsideH2351 the campH4264. They must beH1961 keptH4931 by the congregationH5712H1121 of IsraelH3478 for preparing the waterH4325 of purificationH5079; thisH1931 is for purification from sinH2403. 10The man who has gathered upH622 the ashesH665 of the heiferH6510 must also washH3526 his clothesH899, and he will be ceremonially uncleanH2930 untilH5704 eveningH6153. ThisH1961 is a permanentH5769 statuteH2708 for the IsraelitesH1121H3478 and for the foreignerH1616 residingH1481 among themH8432.
Purification of the Unclean
Whoever touchesH5060 anyH3605 deadH4191 bodyH120H5315 will be uncleanH2930 for sevenH7651 daysH3117. 12HeH1931 must purify himselfH2398 with the water on the thirdH7992 dayH3117 and on the seventhH7637 dayH3117; then he will be cleanH2891. But ifH518 he does notH3808 purify himselfH2398 on the thirdH7992H3117 and seventhH7637 daysH3117, he will notH3808 be cleanH2891. 13AnyoneH3605 who touchesH5060 a humanH120 corpseH4191H5315 and failsH3808 to purifyH2398 himselfH853 defilesH2930 the tabernacleH4908 of the LORDH3068. ThatH1931 personH5315 must be cut offH3772 from IsraelH3478. He remainsH1961 uncleanH2931, becauseH3588 the waterH4325 of purificationH5079 has notH3808 been sprinkledH2236 on himH5921, and his uncleannessH2932 is still on himH5750.
ThisH2063 is the lawH8451 whenH3588 a personH120 diesH4191 in a tentH168: EveryoneH3605 who entersH935H413 the tentH168 and everyoneH3605 already in the tentH168 will be uncleanH2930 for sevenH7651 daysH3117, 15and anyH3605 openH6605 containerH3627 withoutH369 a lidH6781 fastenedH6616 on itH5921 is uncleanH2931H1931.
AnyoneH3605 inH5921 the open fieldH6440H7704 whoH834 touchesH5060 someone who has been killedH2491 by the swordH2719 orH176 has died of natural causesH4191, orH176 anyone who touches a humanH120 boneH6106 orH176 a graveH6913, will be uncleanH2930 for sevenH7651 daysH3117.
For the purification of the unclean personH2931, takeH3947 some of the ashesH6083 of the burntH8316 sin offeringH2403, put themH5414 inH413 a jarH3627, and pour freshH2416 waterH43251 over themH5921. 18Then a manH376 who is ceremonially cleanH2889 is to takeH3947 some hyssopH231, dipH2881 it in the waterH4325, and sprinkleH5137H5921 the tentH168H5921, allH3605 the furnishingsH3627H5921, and the peopleH5315 whoH834 wereH1961 thereH8033H5921. He is also to sprinkle the one who touchedH5060 a boneH6106, a graveH6913, or a person who has diedH4191H176 orH176 been slainH2491H176.
The man who is ceremonially cleanH2889H5921 is to sprinkleH5137 the unclean personH2931 on the thirdH7992 dayH3117 and on the seventhH7637 dayH3117. After he purifiesH2398 the unclean person on the seventhH7637 dayH3117, the one being cleansed must washH3526 his clothesH899 and batheH7364 in waterH4325, and that eveningH6153 he will be cleanH2891. 20But if a personH376 whoH834 is uncleanH2930 does notH3808 purifyH2398 himselfH1931, he will be cut offH3772 fromH8432 the assemblyH6951, becauseH3588 he has defiledH2930 the sanctuaryH4720 of the LORDH3068. The waterH4325 ofH5079 purification has notH3808 been sprinkledH2236 on himH5921; heH1931 is uncleanH2931.
ThisH1961 is a permanentH5769 statuteH2708 for the people: The one who sprinklesH5137 the waterH4325 ofH5079 purification must washH3526 his clothesH899, and whoever touchesH5060 the waterH4325 ofH5079 purification will be uncleanH2930 untilH5704 eveningH6153. 22AnythingH3605 the uncleanH2931 person touchesH5060 will become uncleanH2930, and anyoneH5315 who touches itH5060 will be uncleanH2930 untilH5704 eveningH6153.”
