2He dug it upוַֽיְעַזְּקֵ֣הוּvay.'a.ze.Ke.huH5823and cleared the stonesוַֽיְסַקְּלֵ֗הוּvay.sa.ke.Le.huH5619and plantedוַיִּטָּעֵ֙הוּ֙vai.yi.ta.'E.huH5193the finest vinesשֹׂרֵ֔קso.RekH8321.He builtוַיִּ֤בֶןvai.Yi.venH1129a watchtowerמִגְדָּל֙mig.DalH4026in the middleבְּתוֹכ֔וֹbe.to.KhoH8432andוְגַם־ve.gam-H1571dug outחָצֵ֣בcha.TzevH2672a winepress as wellיֶ֖קֶבYe.kevH3342.He waited forוַיְקַ֛וvay.KavH6960the vineyardto yieldלַעֲשׂ֥וֹתla.'a.SotH6213good grapesעֲנָבִ֖ים'a.na.VimH6025,but the fruit it producedוַיַּ֥עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213was sourבְּאֻשִֽׁים׃be.'u.ShimH891!

3“And nowוְעַתָּ֛הve.'a.TahH6258,O dwellersיוֹשֵׁ֥בyo.ShevH3427of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֖םye.ru.sha.LimH3389and menוְאִ֣ישׁve.'IshH376of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063,I exhortנָ֕אna'H4994you to judgeשִׁפְטוּ־shif.tu-H8199between MeH996and My vineyardכַּרְמִֽי׃kar.MiH3754.

4Whatמַה־mah-H4100moreעוֹד֙'OdH5750could have been doneלַּעֲשׂ֥וֹתla.'a.SotH6213for My vineyardלְכַרְמִ֔יle.khar.MiH3754thanוְלֹ֥אve.Lo'H3808I have doneעָשִׂ֖יתִי'a.Si.tiH6213for it?Whyמַדּ֧וּעַma.Du.a'H4069,when I expectedקִוֵּ֛יתִיki.Vei.tiH6960לַעֲשׂ֥וֹתla.'a.SotH6213sweetgrapesעֲנָבִ֖ים'a.na.VimH6025,did it bring forthוַיַּ֥עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213sour fruitבְּאֻשִֽׁים׃be.'u.ShimH891?

5Nowוְעַתָּה֙ve.'a.TahH6258I will tell youאוֹדִֽיעָה־ נָּ֣א'o.di.'ah- na'H3045 H4994אֶתְכֶ֔ם'et.KhemH853אֵ֛ת'etH853whatאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834Iאֲנִ֥י'a.NiH589am about to doעֹשֶׂ֖ה'o.SehH6213to My vineyardלְכַרְמִ֑יle.khar.MiH3754:I will take awayהָסֵ֤רha.SerH5493its hedgeמְשׂוּכָּתוֹ֙me.su.ka.ToH4881,and it will beוְהָיָ֣הve.ha.YahH1961consumedלְבָעֵ֔רle.va.'ErH1197;I will tear downפָּרֹ֥ץpa.RotzH6555its wallגְּדֵר֖וֹge.de.RoH1447,and it will beוְהָיָ֥הve.ha.YahH1961trampledלְמִרְמָֽס׃le.mir.MasH4823.

6I will makeוַאֲשִׁיתֵ֣הוּva.'a.shi.Te.huH7896it a wastelandבָתָ֗הva.TahH1326,neitherלֹ֤אlo'H3808prunedיִזָּמֵר֙yi.za.MerH2168norוְלֹ֣אve.Lo'H3808cultivatedיֵעָדֵ֔רye.'a.DerH5737,and thornsוָשָׁ֑יִתva.Sha.yitH7898and briersשָׁמִ֖ירsha.MirH8068will grow upוְעָלָ֥הve.'a.LahH5927.I will commandאֲצַוֶּ֔ה'a.tza.VehH6680וְעַ֤לve.'AlH5921the cloudsהֶעָבִים֙he.'a.VimH5645that rainמָטָֽר׃ma.TarH4306shall not fallמֵהַמְטִ֥ירme.ham.TirH4305on itעָלָ֖יו'a.LavH5921.”

7Forכִּ֣יkiH3588the vineyardכֶ֜רֶםKhe.remH3754of the LORDיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068of Hostsצְבָאוֹת֙tze.va.'OtH6635is the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,and the menוְאִ֣ישׁve.'IshH376of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063are the plantנְטַ֖עne.Ta'H5194of His delightשַׁעֲשׁוּעָ֑יוsha.'a.shu.'AvH8191.He lookedוַיְקַ֤וvay.KavH6960for justiceלְמִשְׁפָּט֙le.mish.PatH4941,but sawוְהִנֵּ֣הve.hi.NehH2009bloodshedמִשְׂפָּ֔חmis.PachH4939;for righteousnessלִצְדָקָ֖הlitz.da.KahH6666,but heardוְהִנֵּ֥הve.hi.NehH2009a cry of distressצְעָקָֽה׃ סtze.'a.KahH6818.
