2Now thenוְעַתָּ֕הve.'a.TahH6258,I will tellאַגִּ֣יד'a.GidH5046youthe truthאֱמֶ֖ת'e.MetH571הִנֵּה־hi.neh-H2009:Threeשְׁלֹשָׁ֨הshe.lo.ShahH7969moreעוֹד֩'OdH5750kingsמְלָכִ֜יםme.la.KhimH4428will ariseעֹמְדִ֣ים'o.me.DimH5975in Persiaלְפָרַ֗סle.fa.RasH6539,and then a fourthוְהָֽרְבִיעִי֙ve.ha.re.vi.'IH7243,who will beעֹֽשֶׁר־'o.sher-H6239farגָּדוֹל֙ga.dOlH1419richerיַעֲשִׁ֤ירya.'a.ShirH6238than all the othersמִכֹּ֔לmi.KolH3605.By the powerוּכְחֶזְקָת֣וֹu.khe.chez.ka.ToH2393of his wealthבְעָשְׁר֔וֹve.'a.she.RoH6239,he will stir upיָעִ֣ירya.'IrH5782everyoneהַכֹּ֔לha.KolH3605againstאֵ֖ת'etH853the kingdomמַלְכ֥וּתmal.KhutH4438of Greeceיָוָֽן׃ya.VanH3120.

3Then a mightyגִּבּ֑וֹרgi.BorH1368kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428will ariseוְעָמַ֖דve.'a.MadH5975,who will ruleוּמָשַׁל֙u.ma.ShalH4910with greatרַ֔בRavH7227authorityמִמְשָׁ֣לmi.ShalH4474and doוְעָשָׂ֖הve.'a.SahH6213as he pleasesכִּרְצוֹנֽוֹ׃kir.tzo.NoH7522.

5The kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of the Southהַנֶּ֖גֶבha.Ne.gevH5045will grow strongוְיֶחֱזַ֥קve.ye.che.ZakH2388,but one ofוּמִן־u.min-H4480his commandersשָׂרָ֑יוsa.RavH8269will grow evenעָלָיו֙'a.LavH5921strongerוְיֶחֱזַ֤קve.ye.che.ZakH2388and will ruleוּמָשָׁ֔לu.ma.ShalH4910his own kingdomמִמְשָׁ֥לmi.ShalH4474with greatרַ֖בravH7227authorityמֶמְשַׁלְתּֽוֹ׃mem.shal.ToH4475.

9who will invadeוּבָ֗אu.Va'H935the realmבְּמַלְכוּת֙be.mal.KhutH4438of the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of the Southהַנֶּ֔גֶבha.Ne.gevH5045and then returnוְשָׁ֖בve.ShavH7725toאֶל־'el-H413his own landאַדְמָתֽוֹ׃'ad.ma.ToH127.

11In a rageוְיִתְמַרְמַר֙ve.yit.mar.MarH4843,the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of the Southהַנֶּ֔גֶבha.Ne.gevH5045will march outוְיָצָ֕אve.ya.Tza'H3318to fightוְנִלְחַ֥םve.nil.ChamH3898 H5973the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of the Northהַצָּפ֑וֹןha.tza.FonH6828,who will raiseוְהֶעֱמִיד֙ve.he.'e.MidH5975a largeרָ֔בRavH7227armyהָמ֣וֹןha.MonH1995,but itהֶהָמ֖וֹןhe.ha.MonH1995will be deliveredוְנִתַּ֥ןve.ni.TanH5414into the hand of hisבְּיָדֽוֹ׃be.ya.DoH3027enemy.

21Inעַל־'al-H5921his placeכַּנּוֹ֙ka.NoH3653a despicable personנִבְזֶ֔הniv.ZehH959will ariseוְעָמַ֤דve.'a.MadH5975;royalמַלְכ֑וּתmal.KhutH4438honorsה֣וֹדHodH1935will notוְלֹא־ve.lo'-H3808be givenנָתְנ֥וּna.te.NuH5414to himעָלָ֖יו'a.LavH5921,but he will comeוּבָ֣אu.Va'H935in a time of peaceבְשַׁלְוָ֔הve.shal.VahH7962and seizeוְהֶחֱזִ֥יקve.he.che.ZikH2388the kingdomמַלְכ֖וּתmal.KhutH4438by intrigueבַּחֲלַקְלַקּֽוֹת׃ba.cha.lak.la.KotH2519.

23Afterוּמִן־u.min-H4480an alliance is madeהִֽתְחַבְּר֥וּתhit.cha.be.RutH2266with himאֵלָ֖יו'e.LavH413,he will actיַעֲשֶׂ֣הya.'a.SehH6213deceitfullyמִרְמָ֑הmir.MahH4820;for he will riseוְעָלָ֥הve.'a.LahH5927to powerוְעָצַ֖םve.'a.TzamH6105with only a fewבִּמְעַט־bim.'at-H4592peopleגּֽוֹי׃GoyH1471.

24In a time of peaceבְּשַׁלְוָ֞הbe.shal.VahH7962,he will invadeיָבוֹא֒ya.Vo'H935the richestוּבְמִשְׁמַנֵּ֣יuv.mish.ma.NeiH4924provincesמְדִינָה֮me.di.NahH4082and doוְעָשָׂ֗הve.'a.SahH6213whatאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834his fathersH1and forefathersH1neverלֹא־lo'-H3808didעָשׂ֤וּ'a.SuH6213.He will lavishיִבְז֑וֹרyiv.ZorH967plunderבִּזָּ֧הbi.ZahH961,lootוְשָׁלָ֛לve.sha.LalH7998,and wealthוּרְכ֖וּשׁu.re.KhushH7399on his followers,and he will plotיְחַשֵּׁ֥ב מַחְשְׁבֹתָ֖יוye.cha.Shev mach.she.vo.TavH2803 H4284againstוְעַ֧לve.'AlH5921the strongholdsמִבְצָרִ֛יםmiv.tza.RimH4013—but only forוְעַד־ve.'ad-H5704a timeעֵֽת׃'EtH6256.

27And the twoוּשְׁנֵיהֶ֤םu.she.nei.HemH8147kingsהַמְּלָכִים֙ha.me.la.KhimH4428,with their heartsלְבָבָ֣םle.va.VamH3824bent on evilלְמֵרָ֔עle.me.Ra'H4827,will speakיְדַבֵּ֑רוּye.da.Be.ruH1696liesכָּזָ֣בka.ZavH3577atוְעַל־ve.'al-H5921the sameאֶחָ֖ד'e.ChadH259tableשֻׁלְחָ֥ןshul.ChanH7979,but to noוְלֹ֣אve.Lo'H3808availתִצְלָ֔חtitz.LachH6743,forכִּי־ki-H3588stillע֥וֹדodH5750the endקֵ֖ץketzH7093will come at the appointed timeלַמּוֹעֵֽד׃la.mo.'EdH4150.

28The king of the North will returnוְיָשֹׁ֤בve.ya.ShoH7725to his landאַרְצוֹ֙'ar.TzoH776with greatגָּד֔וֹלga.DolH1419wealthבִּרְכ֣וּשׁbir.KhushH7399,but his heartוּלְבָב֖וֹu.le.va.VoH3824will be set againstעַל־'al-H5921the holyקֹ֑דֶשׁKo.deshH6944covenantבְּרִ֣יתbe.RitH1285;so he will doוְעָשָׂ֖הve.'a.SahH6213damageand returnוְשָׁ֥בve.ShavH7725to his own landלְאַרְצֽוֹ׃le.'ar.TzoH776.

29At the appointed timeלַמּוֹעֵ֥דla.mo.'EdH4150he will invadeוּבָ֣אu.Va'H935the Southבַנֶּ֑גֶבva.Ne.gevH5045againיָשׁ֖וּבya.ShuvH7725,but this time will notוְלֹֽא־ve.lo'-H3808beתִהְיֶ֥הtih.YehH1961like the firstכָרִאשֹׁנָ֖ה וְכָאַחֲרֹנָֽה׃kha.ri.sho.Nah ve.kha.'a.cha.ro.NahH7223 H314.
