39On hearingוַיִּשְׁמַ֣עvai.yish.Ma'H8085thatכִּ֣יkiH3588Nabalנָבָל֒na.ValH5037was deadמֵ֣תmetH4191,Davidדָּוִד֮da.VidH1732saidוַיֹּ֡אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Blessedבָּר֣וּךְba.RukhH1288bethe LORDיְהוָ֡הYah.wehH3068,whoאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834has upheldרָב֩ravH7378אֶת־'et-H853my causeרִ֨יבrivH7379againstמִיַּ֣דmi.YadH3027the reproachחֶרְפָּתִ֜יcher.pa.TiH2781of Nabalנָבָ֗לna.ValH5037andוְאֶת־ve.'EtH853has restrainedחָשַׂ֣ךְcha.SakhH2820His servantעַבְדּוֹ֙av.DoH5650from evilמֵֽרָעָ֔הme.ra.'AhH7451.Forוְאֵת֙ve.'EtH853the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068has broughtהֵשִׁ֥יבhe.ShivH7725the wickednessרָעַ֣תra.'AtH7451of Nabalנָבָ֔לna.ValH5037down upon his own headבְּרֹאשׁ֑וֹbe.ro.ShoH7218.”Then Davidדָּוִד֙da.VidH1732sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֤חvai.yish.LachH7971wordוַיְדַבֵּ֣רvay.da.BerH1696to Abigailבַּאֲבִיגַ֔יִלba.'a.vi.Ga.yilH26,askingלְקַחְתָּ֥הּle.kach.TahH3947her to becomehis wifeלְאִשָּֽׁה׃le.'i.ShahH802.

40Whenדָוִ֛דda.VidH1732hisservantsעַבְדֵ֥י'av.DeiH5650cameוַיָּבֹ֜אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935toאֶל־'el-H413Abigailאֲבִיגַ֖יִל'a.vi.Ga.yilH26at Carmelהַכַּרְמֶ֑לָהha.kar.Me.lahH3760,they saidוַיְדַבְּר֤וּvay.da.be.RuH1696אֵלֶ֙יהָ֙'e.Lei.haH413לֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, “Davidדָּוִד֙da.VidH1732has sent usשְׁלָחָ֣נוּshe.la.Cha.nuH7971to take youאֵלַ֔יִךְ לְקַחְתֵּ֥ךְ'e.La.yikh le.kach.TekhH413 H3947as hiswifeלְאִשָּֽׁה׃le.'i.ShahH802.”

41She aroseוַתָּ֕קָםva.Ta.komH6965,bowedוַתִּשְׁתַּ֥חוּva.tish.Ta.chuH7812facedownאַפַּ֖יִם אָ֑רְצָה'a.Pa.yim 'A.re.tzahH639 H776,and saidוַתֹּ֗אמֶרva.To.merH559, “Here isהִנֵּ֤הhi.NehH2009your servantאֲמָֽתְךָ֙'a.ma.te.KhaH519,ready to serveלְשִׁפְחָ֔הle.shif.ChahH8198and to washלִרְחֹ֕ץlir.ChotzH7364the feetרַגְלֵ֖יrag.LeiH7272of my lord’sאֲדֹנִֽי׃'a.do.NiH113servantsעַבְדֵ֥י'av.DeiH5650.”

42So Abigailאֲבִיגַ֗יִל'a.vi.Ga.yilH26וַתָּ֣קָםva.Ta.komH6965hurriedוַתְּמַהֵ֞רva.te.ma.HerH4116and got onוַתִּרְכַּב֙ עַֽל־va.tir.Kav 'al-H7392 H5921a donkeyהַחֲמ֔וֹרha.cha.MorH2543,and attendedהַהֹלְכ֖וֹתha.ho.le.KhotH1980byfiveוְחָמֵשׁ֙ve.cha.MeshH2568of her maidensנַעֲרֹתֶ֔יהָ לְרַגְלָ֑הּna.'a.ro.Tei.ha le.rag.LahH5291 H7272,she followedוַתֵּ֗לֶךְ אַֽחֲרֵי֙va.Te.lekh 'a.cha.ReiH1980 H310David’sדָוִ֔דda.VidH1732messengersמַלְאֲכֵ֣יmal.'a.KheiH4397and becameוַתְּהִי־va.te.hi-H1961hiswifeלְאִשָּֽׁה׃le.'i.ShahH802.

43Davidדָּוִ֖דda.VidH1732had alsoוְאֶת־ve.'EtH853marriedלָקַ֥חla.KachH3947Ahinoamאֲחִינֹ֛עַם'a.chi.No.'amH293of Jezreelמִֽיִּזְרְעֶ֑אלmi.yiz.re.'ElH3157.So she and Abigail were bothוַתִּהְיֶ֛יןָ שְׁתֵּיהֶ֥ןva.tih.Yei.na she.tei.HenH8147 H1961hisגַּֽם־gam-H1571wivesלְנָשִֽׁים׃ סle.na.ShimH802.
