2Meanwhile, Saulוְשָׁא֗וּלve.sha.'UlH7586was stayingיוֹשֵׁב֙yo.ShevH3427underתַּ֥חַתTa.chatH8478the pomegranate treeהָרִמּ֖וֹןha.ri.MonH7416אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834in Migronבְּמִגְר֑וֹןbe.mig.RonH4051on the outskirtsבִּקְצֵ֣הbik.TzehH7097of Gibeahהַגִּבְעָ֔הha.giv.'AhH1390.And the troopsוְהָעָם֙ve.ha.'AmH5971whoאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834werewith himעִמּ֔וֹi.MoH5973numbered about sixכְּשֵׁ֥שׁke.SheshH8337hundredמֵא֖וֹתme.'otH3967menאִֽישׁ׃'IshH376,

7His armor-bearerנֹשֵׂ֣א כֵלָ֔יוno.Se' khe.LavH5375H3627repliedוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Doעֲשֵׂ֖ה'a.SehH6213allכָּל־kol-H3605that isאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834in your heartבִּלְבָבֶ֑ךָbil.va.Ve.khaH3824.Go aheadנְטֵ֣הne.TehH5186;I amהִנְנִ֥יhi.NiH2005with youעִמְּךָ֖'i.me.KhaH5973heart and soulכִּלְבָבֶֽךָ׃ סkil.va.Ve.khaH3824.”
9Ifאִם־ כֹּ֤ה'im- kohH518H3541they sayיֹֽאמְרוּ֙yo.me.RuH559אֵלֵ֔ינוּ'e.Lei.nuH413, ‘Waitדֹּ֕מּוּDo.muH1826untilעַד־'ad-H5704we comeהַגִּיעֵ֖נוּha.gi.'E.nuH5060to youאֲלֵיכֶ֑ם'a.lei.KhemH413,’then we will stayוְעָמַ֣דְנוּve.'a.Mad.nuH5975where we areתַחְתֵּ֔ינוּtach.Tei.nuH8478and will notוְלֹ֥אve.Lo'H3808go upנַעֲלֶ֖הna.'a.LehH5927to themאֲלֵיהֶֽם׃'a.lei.HemH413.
10But ifוְאִם־ כֹּ֨הve.'im- kohH518H3541they sayיֹאמְר֜וּyo.me.RuH559, ‘Come on upעֲל֤וּ עָלֵ֙ינוּ֙'a.Lu 'a.Lei.nuH5927H5921,’then we will go upוְעָלִ֔ינוּve.'a.Li.nuH5927,becauseכִּֽי־ki-H3588thisוְזֶה־ve.zeh-H2088will be our signהָאֽוֹת׃ha.'otH226that the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068has delivered themנְתָנָ֥םne.ta.NamH5414into our handsבְּיָדֵ֑נוּbe.ya.De.nuH3027.”
11So the two of themשְׁנֵיהֶ֔םshe.nei.HemH8147showed themselvesוַיִּגָּל֣וּvai.yi.ga.LuH1540toאֶל־'el-H413the outpostמַצַּ֖בma.TzavH4673of the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּ֑יםpe.lish.TimH6430, whoפְלִשְׁתִּ֔יםfe.lish.TimH6430exclaimedוַיֹּאמְר֣וּvai.yo.me.RuH559, “Lookהִנֵּ֤הhi.NehH2009,the Hebrewsעִבְרִים֙'iv.RimH5680are coming outיֹֽצְאִ֔יםyo.tze.'ImH3318ofמִן־min-H4480the holesהַחֹרִ֖יםha.cho.RimH2356in whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834they were hidingהִתְחַבְּאוּ־ שָֽׁם׃hit.cha.be.'u- ShamH2244H8033!”
12So the menאַנְשֵׁ֨י'an.SheiH582of the outpostהַמַּצָּבָ֜הha.ma.tza.VahH4675אֶת־'et-H853called outוַיַּעֲנוּ֩vai.ya.'a.NuH6030to Jonathanיוֹנָתָ֣ן׀yo.na.TanH3129וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853and his armor-bearerנֹשֵׂ֣א כֵלָ֗יוno.Se' khe.LavH5375H3627וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙vai.yo.me.RuH559, “Come on upעֲל֣וּ אֵלֵ֔ינוּ'a.Lu 'e.Lei.nuH5927H413,and we will teachוְנוֹדִ֥יעָהve.no.Di.'ahH3045אֶתְכֶ֖ם'et.KhemH853you a lessonדָּבָ֑ר פda.VarH1697!” “Followעֲלֵ֣ה'a.LehH5927meאַחֲרַ֔י'a.cha.RaiH310,”Jonathanיוֹנָתָ֜ן אֶל־yo.na.Tan 'el-H3129H413toldוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559his armor-bearerנֹשֵׂ֤א כֵלָיו֙no.Se' khe.LavH5375H3627, “forכִּֽי־ki-H3588the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068has delivered themנְתָנָ֥םne.ta.NamH5414into the handבְּיַ֥דbe.YadH3027of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.”
13So Jonathanיוֹנָתָ֗ן עַל־yo.na.Tan 'al-H3129H5921climbed upוַיַּ֣עַלvai.Ya.'alH5927on his handsיָדָיו֙ וְעַל־ya.Dav ve.'al-H3027H5921and feetרַגְלָ֔יוrag.LavH7272,with his armor-bearerוְנֹשֵׂ֥א כֵלָ֖יוve.no.Se' khe.LavH5375H3627behind himאַחֲרָ֑יו'a.cha.RavH310.And the Philistines fellוַֽיִּפְּלוּ֙vai.yi.pe.LuH5307beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440Jonathanיוֹנָתָ֔ןyo.na.TanH3129,and his armor-bearerוְנֹשֵׂ֥א כֵלָ֖יוve.no.Se' khe.LavH5375H3627followedאַחֲרָֽיו׃'a.cha.RavH310and finished them offמְמוֹתֵ֥תme.mo.TetH4191.
14וַתְּהִ֞יva.te.HiH1961In that firstהָרִאשֹׁנָ֗הha.ri.sho.NahH7223אֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834assaultהַמַּכָּ֣הha.ma.KahH4347,Jonathanיוֹנָתָ֛ןyo.na.TanH3129and his armor-bearerוְנֹשֵׂ֥א כֵלָ֖יוve.no.Se' khe.LavH5375H3627struck downהִכָּ֧הhi.KahH5221about twentyכְּעֶשְׂרִ֣יםke.'es.RimH6242menאִ֑ישׁ'IshH376in about halfכְּבַחֲצִ֥יke.va.cha.TziH2677an acreמַעֲנָ֖ה צֶ֥מֶדma.'a.Nah Tze.medH4618H6776of landשָׂדֶֽה׃sa.DehH7704.
15Then panicחֲרָדָ֨הcha.ra.DahH2731struckוַתְּהִי֩va.te.HiH1961the Philistinesin the campבַמַּחֲנֶ֤הva.ma.cha.NehH4264,in the fieldבַשָּׂדֶה֙va.sa.DehH7704,and among allוּבְכָל־u.ve.Khol-H3605the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971.Even those in the outpostsהַמַּצָּב֙ha.ma.TzavH4673and raiding partiesוְהַמַּשְׁחִ֔יתve.ha.mash.ChitH7843trembledחָרְד֖וּcha.re.DuH2729.Indeedגַּם־ הֵ֑מָּהgam- He.mahH1571H1992,the earthהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776quakedוַתִּרְגַּ֣זva.tir.GazH7264,and panicלְחֶרְדַּ֥תle.cher.DatH2731spreadוַתְּהִ֖יva.te.HiH1961from Godאֱלֹהִֽים׃'E.lo.HimH430.
16Now when Saul’sלְשָׁא֔וּלle.sha.'UlH7586watchmenהַצֹּפִים֙ha.tzo.FimH6822at Gibeahבְּגִבְעַ֖תbe.giv.'AtH1390in Benjaminבִּנְיָמִ֑ןbin.ya.MinH1144lookedוַיִּרְא֤וּvai.yir.'UH7200and sawוְהִנֵּ֧הve.hi.NehH2009the troopsהֶהָמ֛וֹןhe.ha.MonH1995melting awayנָמ֖וֹגna.MogH4127and scatteringוַיֵּ֥לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980in every directionוַהֲלֹֽם׃ פva.ha.LomH1988,

20Then Saulשָׁא֗וּלsha.'UlH7586and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605his troopsהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834אִתּ֔וֹ'i.ToH854assembledוַיִּזָּעֵ֣קvai.yi.za.'EkH2199and marchedוַיָּבֹ֖אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935toעַד־'ad-H5704the battleהַמִּלְחָמָ֑הha.mil.cha.MahH4421,and they foundוְהִנֵּ֨הve.hi.NehH2009the Philistinesin totalגְּדוֹלָ֥ה מְאֹֽד׃ge.do.Lah me.'OdH3966H1419confusionמְהוּמָ֖הme.hu.MahH4103,with each manאִישׁ֙'ishH376wieldingהָיְתָ֜הha.ye.TahH1961the swordחֶ֤רֶבChe.revH2719against his neighborבְּרֵעֵ֔הוּbe.re.'E.huH7453.
