1Strive thou, O Jehovah, with them that strive with me:FightH3898 thou against them that fightH3898 against me.2TakeH2388 holdH2388 of shieldH4043 and buckler,And standH6965 up for my helpH5833.3Draw out also the spearH2595, and stop the way against them that pursueH7291 me:SayH559 unto my soulH5315, I am thy salvationH3444.4Let them be putH954 to shameH954 and brought to dishonor that seekH1245 after my soulH5315:Let them be turnedH5472 backH268 and confounded that devise my hurt.5Let them beH1961 as chaffH4671 before the windH7307,And the angelH4397 of Jehovah drivingthemon.6Let their wayH1870 beH1961 dark and slipperyH2519,And the angelH4397 of Jehovah pursuingH7291 them.7For without causeH2600 have they hidH2934 for me their netH7568ina pitH7845;Without causeH2600 have they digged a pitH7845 for my soulH5315.8Let destructionH7722 comeH935 upon him unawares; And let his netH7568 that he hath hidH2934 catchH3920 himself:With destructionH7722 let him fallH5307 therein.9And my soulH5315 shall be joyful in Jehovah:It shall rejoiceH1523 in his salvationH3444.10All my bonesH6106 shall sayH559, Jehovah, who is like unto thee,Who deliverest the poorH6041 from him that is too strongH2389 for him,Yea, the poorH6041 and the needyH34 from him that robbeth him?11Unrighteous witnessesH5707 riseH6965 up;They askH7592 me of things that I knowH3045 not.12They rewardH7999 me evilH7451 for goodH2896,Tothe bereaving of my soulH5315.13But as for me, when they were sickH2470, my clothingH3830 was sackclothH8242:I afflicted my soulH5315 with fastingH6685;And my prayerH8605 returnedH7725 into mine ownH5315 bosomH2436.14I behaved myself as though it had been my friendH7453 or my brotherH251:I bowedH7817 downH7817 mourningH6937, as one that bewaileth his motherH517.15But in mine adversity they rejoicedH8055, and gatheredH622 themselves together:The abjects gatheredH622 themselves together against me, and I knewH3045 it not; They did tearH7167 me, and ceased not:16Like the profane mockers in feasts,They gnashedH2786 upon me with their teethH8127.17LordH136, howH4100 long wilt thou lookH7200 on?Rescue my soulH5315 from their destructions,My darling from the lionsH3715.18I will giveH3034 thee thanksH3034 in the greatH7227 assemblyH6951:I will praiseH1984 thee among muchH7227 peopleH5971.19Let not them that are mine enemiesH341 wrongfully rejoiceH8055 over me;Neither let them wink with the eyeH5869 that hateH8130 me without a causeH2600.20For they speakH1696 not peaceH7965;But they devise deceitful wordsH1697 against them that are quiet in the landH776.21Yea, they openedH7337 their mouthH6310 wideH7337 against me;They saidH559, AhaH1889, ahaH1889, our eyeH5869 hath seenH7200 it.22Thou hast seenH7200 it, O Jehovah; keep not silence:O Lord, be not farH7368 from me.23StirH5782 up thyself, and awakeH5782 to the justiceH4941 due unto me,Even unto my causeH7379, my GodH430 and my LordH136.24JudgeH8199 me, O Jehovah my GodH430, according to thy righteousnessH6664;And let them not rejoiceH8055 over me.25Let them not sayH559 in their heartH3820, AhaH1889, so would we have it:Let them not sayH559, We have swallowedH1104 him up.26Let them be putH954 to shameH954 and confounded togetherH3162 that rejoice at my hurt:Let them be clothedH3847 with shameH954 and dishonor that magnifyH1431 themselves against me.27Let them shoutH7442 for joyH7442, and be gladH8055, that favor my righteous cause:Yea, let them sayH559 continuallyH8548, Jehovah be magnifiedH1431,Who hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servantH5650.28And my tongueH3956 shall talk of thy righteousnessH6664Andof thy praiseH8416 all the dayH3117 long.
