Psalms 144
A Psalm of David.
1BlessedH1288 be Jehovah my rockH6697,Who teacheth my handsH3027 to warH4421,Andmy fingersH676 to fight:2My lovingkindness, and my fortress,My high tower, and my delivererH6403;My shieldH4043, and he in whom I takeH2620 refugeH2620;Who subdueth my peopleH5971 under me.3Jehovah, what is manH120, that thou takest knowledge of him?Or the sonH1121 of manH120, that thou makest account of him?4ManH120 is likeH1819 to vanityH1892:His daysH3117 are as a shadowH6738 that passeth awayH5674.5Bow thy heavensH8064, O Jehovah, and comeH3381 down:TouchH5060 the mountainsH2022, and they shall smokeH6225.6Cast forthH7971 lightningH1300, and scatterH6327 them;SendH7971 out thine arrowsH2671, and discomfit them.7StretchH7971 forthH7971 thy handH3027 from above;RescueH5337 me, and deliverH5337 me out of greatH7227 watersH4325,Out of the handH3027 of aliens;8Whose mouthH6310 speaketh deceit,And whose rightH3225 handH3225 is a rightH3225 handH3225 of falsehoodH8267.9I will singH2167 a newH2319 songH7892 unto thee, O GodH430:Upon a psaltery of tenH6218 strings will I singH2167 praisesH2167 unto thee.10Thou art he that giveth salvationH8668 unto kingsH4428;Who rescueth DavidH1732 his servantH5650 from the hurtful swordH2719.11RescueH5337 me, and deliverH5337 me out of the handH3027 of aliens,Whose mouthH6310 speaketh deceit,And whose rightH3225 handH3027 is a rightH3225 handH3027 of falsehoodH8267.12WhenH834 our sonsH1121 shall be as plants grownH1431 up in their youthH5271,And our daughtersH1323 as corner-stones hewn after the fashion of a palaceH1964;13Whenour garners are fullH4392, affording all manner of store,Andour sheepH6629 bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our fields;14Whenour oxen are well laden;When there isno breaking in, and no goingH3318 forthH3318,And no outcryH6682 in our streets:15Happy is the peopleH5971 that is in such a case;Yea, happy is the peopleH5971 whose GodH430 is Jehovah.
