Hebrews 12:9-15
9Furthermore, we had the fathersG3962 of our fleshG4561 to chasten us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not muchG4183 ratherG3123 be in subjectionG5293 unto the FatherG3962 of spiritsG4151, and liveG2198? 10For they indeedG1063 for a fewG3641 daysG2250 chastened us as seemedG1380 goodG1380 to them; but he for our profit, that we may be partakers of his holiness. 11All chastening seemeth for the presentG3918 to beG1510 not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yieldeth peaceableG1516 fruitG2590 unto them that have beenG1510 exercised thereby, even the fruitG2590 of righteousnessG1343. 12Wherefore lift up the handsG5495 that hang down, and the palsied kneesG1119; 13and makeG4160 straight paths for your feetG4228, that that which is lameG5560 be not turnedG1624 out of the way, but ratherG3123 be healedG2390.
14Follow after peaceG1515 with all men, and the sanctificationG38 without which no man shall seeG3708 the LordG2962: 15looking carefully lestG3361there beany manG3778 that falleth shortG5302 of the graceG5485 of GodG2316; lestG3361 any rootG4491 of bitternessG4088 springing up trouble you, and thereby the manyG4183 be defiled;
