Exodus 33:1-6
1And Jehovah spake unto MosesH4872, Depart, goH5927 up hence, thou and the peopleH5971 that thou hast broughtH5927 up out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714, unto the landH776 of which I sware unto AbrahamH85, to IsaacH3327, and to JacobH3290, sayingH559, Unto thy seedH2233 will I giveH5414 it: 2and I will sendH7971 an angelH4397 before thee; and I will driveH1644 out the CanaaniteH3669, the AmoriteH567, and the HittiteH2850, and the PerizziteH6522, the HiviteH2340, and the JebusiteH2983: 3unto a landH776 flowingH2100 with milkH2461 and honeyH1706: for I will not goH5927 up in the midstH7130 of thee, for thou art a stiffnecked peopleH5971, lestH6435 I consume thee in the wayH1870. 4And when the peopleH5971 heardH8085 these evilH7451 tidings, they mournedH56: and no manH376 did putH7896 on him his ornamentsH5716. 5And Jehovah saidH559 unto MosesH4872, SayH559 unto the children of IsraelH3478, Ye are a stiffnecked peopleH5971; if I goH5927 up into the midstH7130 of thee for oneH259 momentH7281, I shall consume thee: thereforeH6258 nowH6258 put off thy ornamentsH5716 from thee, that I may knowH3045 what to do unto thee. 6And the children of IsraelH3478 stripped themselves of their ornamentsH5716 from mount HorebH2722 onward.
