2Thecitiesעָרֵ֣י'a.ReiH5892ofAroerעֲרֹעֵ֑ר'a.ro.'ErH6177are forsaken: they shall be forflocksלַעֲדָרִ֣יםla.'a.da.RimH5739, which shalllieוְרָבְצ֖וּve.ra.ve.TzuH7257downH7257, andnoneוְאֵ֥יןve.'EinH369shallmakeH2729themafraidH2729.

3Thefortressמִבְצָר֙miv.TzarH4013also shallceaseוְנִשְׁבַּ֤תve.nish.BatH7673fromEphraimמֵֽאֶפְרַ֔יִםme.'ef.Ra.yimH669, and thekingdomוּמַמְלָכָ֥הu.mam.la.KhahH4467fromDamascusמִדַּמֶּ֖שֶׂקmi.da.Me.sekH1834, and theremnantוּשְׁאָ֣רu.she.'ArH7605ofSyriaאֲרָ֑ם'a.RamH758; they shall be as thegloryכִּכְב֤וֹדkikh.VodH3519of thechildrenבְּנֵֽי־be.nei-H1121ofIsraelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478, saith theLORDיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068ofhostsצְבָאֽוֹת׃ סtze.va.'otH6635.

4And it shallcomeH1961topassH1961in thatdayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117, that thegloryכְּב֣וֹדke.VodH3519ofJacobיַעֲקֹ֑בya.'a.KoH3290shall bemadeH1961thinיִדַּ֖לyi.DalH1809, and the fatness of hisfleshבְּשָׂר֖וֹbe.sa.RoH1320shall waxleanיֵרָזֶֽה׃ye.ra.ZehH7329.

5And it shall be as when the harvestman gathereth thestandingקָמָ֔הka.MahH7054corn, and hisarmוּזְרֹע֖וֹu.ze.ro.'OH2220reapeth theearsשִׁבֳּלִ֣יםshi.bo.LimH7641; yea, it shall be as when one gleanethearsשִׁבֳּלִ֖יםshi.bo.LimH7641in thevalleyבְּעֵ֥מֶקbe.'E.mekH6010ofRephaimרְפָאִֽים׃re.fa.'ImH7497.

8And he shallnotוְלֹ֣אve.Lo'H3808lookיִרְאֶ֔הyir.'EhH7200to thealtarsהַֽמִּזְבְּח֖וֹתha.miz.be.ChotH4196, theworkמַעֲשֵׂ֣הma.'a.SehH4639of hishandsיָדָ֑יוya.DavH3027,neitherלֹ֣אlo'H3808shall he have respect to thatwhichוַאֲשֶׁ֨רva.'a.SherH834hisfingersאֶצְבְּעֹתָיו֙'etz.be.'o.TavH676havemadeעָשׂ֤וּ'a.SuH6213, either theAsherimוְהָאֲשֵׁרִ֖יםve.ha.'a.she.RimH842, or the sun-images.

9In thatdayבַּיּ֨וֹםbai.YomH3117shall hisstrongמָעֻזּ֗וֹma.'u.ZoH4581citiesעָרֵ֣י'a.ReiH5892be as the forsaken places in the wood and on the mountain top,whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834were forsaken frombeforeמִפְּנֵ֖יmi.pe.NeiH6440thechildrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121ofIsraelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478: and it shall be adesolationשְׁמָמָֽה׃she.ma.MahH8077.

10For thou hastforgottenשָׁכַ֙חַתְּ֙sha.Kha.chatH7911theGodאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of thysalvationיִשְׁעֵ֔ךְyish.'EkhH3468, and hastnotלֹ֣אlo'H3808beenmindfulזָכָ֑רְתְּza.Kha.retH2142of therockוְצ֥וּרve.TzurH6697of thystrengthמָעֻזֵּ֖ךְma.'u.ZekhH4581; therefore thou plantest pleasantplantsתִּטְּעִי֙ti.te.'IH5193, and settest it withstrangeזָ֖רzarH2114slipsוּזְמֹ֥רַתu.ze.Mo.ratH2156:

11In thedayבְּי֤וֹםbe.YomH3117of thyplantingH2233thou hedgest it in, and in themorningוּבַבֹּ֖קֶרu.va.Bo.kerH1242thou makest thyseedזַרְעֵ֣ךְzar.'EkhH2233to blossom: but theharvestקָצִ֛ירka.TzirH7105fleeth away in thedayבְּי֥וֹםbe.YomH3117of grief and of desperatesorrowוּכְאֵ֥בu.khe.'EvH3511.

12Ahה֗וֹיHoH1945, theuproarכַּהֲמ֥וֹתka.ha.MotH1993ofmanyרַבִּ֔יםra.BimH7227peoplesH5971,whichH4325roarיֶהֱמָי֑וּןye.he.ma.YunH1993like theroaringH7588of theseasיַמִּ֖יםya.MimH3220; and the rushing ofnationsH5971, thatrushיִשָּׁאֽוּן׃yi.sha.'UnH7582like the rushing ofmightyכַּבִּירִ֖יםka.bi.RimH3524watersמַ֥יִםMa.yimH4325!
