1Now theLORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559untoAbramאַבְרָ֔ם'av.RamH87, Get theeoutH413of thycountryמֵאַרְצְךָ֥me.'ar.tze.KhaH776, and from thykindredוּמִמּֽוֹלַדְתְּךָ֖u.mi.mo.lad.te.KhaH4138, and from thyfather’sאָבִ֑יךָ'a.Vi.khaH1houseוּמִבֵּ֣יתu.mi.BeitH1004, unto thelandהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776that I will shew thee:

2and I willmakeוְאֶֽעֶשְׂךָ֙ve.'e.'es.KhaH6213of thee agreatגָּד֔וֹלga.DolH1419nationלְג֣וֹיle.GoyH1471, and I willblessוַאֲבָ֣רֶכְךָ֔va.'a.Va.rekh.khaH1288thee, andmakeH6213thynameשְׁמֶ֑ךָshe.Me.khaH8034greatH1419; and be thou ablessingבְּרָכָֽה׃be.ra.KhahH1293:

3and I willblessוַאֲבָֽרֲכָה֙va.'a.va.ra.KhahH1288them thatblessמְבָ֣רְכֶ֔יךָme.Va.re.Khei.khaH1288thee, and him that curseth thee will Icurseוּמְקַלֶּלְךָ֖u.me.ka.lel.ChaH7043: and in thee shallallכֹּ֖לkolH3605thefamiliesמִשְׁפְּחֹ֥תmish.pe.ChotH4940of theearthהָאֲדָמָֽה׃ha.'a.da.MahH127beblessedוְנִבְרְכ֣וּve.niv.re.KhuH1288.

5AndAbramאַבְרָם֩'av.RamH87tookוַיִּקַּ֣חvai.yi.KachH3947Saraiשָׂרַ֨יsa.RaiH8297hiswifeאִשְׁתּ֜וֹ'ish.ToH802, andLotל֣וֹטLotH3876hisbrother’sאָחִ֗יו'a.ChivH251sonבֶּן־ben-H1121, andallכָּל־kol-H3605their substance that they hadgatheredרָכָ֔שׁוּra.Kha.shuH7408, and thesoulsהַנֶּ֖פֶשׁha.Ne.feshH5315that they had gotten inHaranבְחָרָ֑ןve.cha.RanH2771; and theywentH3318forthH3318togoH3318intoH935thelandאַ֣רְצָה'Ar.tzahH776ofCanaanכְּנַ֔עַןke.Na.'anH3667; andintoH935thelandאַ֥רְצָה'Ar.tzahH776ofCanaanכְּנָֽעַן׃ke.Na.'anH3667theycameH935.

6AndAbramאַבְרָם֙'av.RamH87passedH5674throughH5674thelandבָּאָ֔רֶץba.'A.retzH776unto theplaceמְק֣וֹםme.KomH4725ofShechemשְׁכֶ֔םshe.KhemH7927, unto theoakאֵל֣וֹן'e.LonH436ofMorehמוֹרֶ֑הmo.RehH4176. And theCanaaniteוְהַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֖יve.ha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669was then in thelandבָּאָֽרֶץ׃ba.'A.retzH776.

7And theLORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068appearedוַיֵּרָ֤אvai.ye.Ra'H7200untoAbramאַבְרָ֔ם'av.RamH87, andsaidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, Unto thyseedלְזַ֨רְעֲךָ֔le.Zar.'a.khaH2233will Igiveאֶתֵּ֖ן'e.TenH5414thislandהָאָ֣רֶץha.'A.retzH776: and there builded he analtarמִזְבֵּ֔חַmiz.Be.achH4196unto theLORDלַיהוָ֖הla.Yah.wehH3068, whoappearedהַנִּרְאֶ֥הha.nir.'EhH7200unto him.

8And he removed from thence unto themountainהָהָ֗רָהha.Ha.rahH2022on theeastמִקֶּ֛דֶםmi.Ke.demH6924of Beth-el, andpitchedוַיֵּ֣טvai.YetH5186histentאָהְָל֑וֹ'o.ho.LoH168, having Beth-el on thewestמִיָּם֙mi.YamH3220, andAiוְהָעַ֣יve.ha.'AiH5857on theeastמִקֶּ֔דֶםmi.Ke.demH6924: and there he builded analtarמִזְבֵּ֙חַ֙miz.Be.achH4196unto theLORDלַֽיהוָ֔הla.Yah.wehH3068, andcalledוַיִּקְרָ֖אvai.yik.Ra'H7121uponH7121thenameבְּשֵׁ֥םbe.ShemH8034of theLORDיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

9AndAbramאַבְרָ֔ם'av.RamH87journeyedH5265,goingH1980on stilltowardH1980theSouthהַנֶּֽגְבָּה׃ פha.Neg.bahH5045.

10And there was afamineרָעָ֖בra.'AvH7458in thelandבָּאָ֑רֶץba.'A.retzH776: andAbramאַבְרָ֤ם'av.RamH87wentH3381downוַיֵּ֨רֶדvai.Ye.redH3381intoH776Egyptמִצְרַ֙יְמָה֙mitz.Ray.mahH4714to sojourn there; for thefamineהָרָעָ֖בha.ra.'AvH7458was sore in thelandבָּאָֽרֶץ׃ba.'A.retzH776.

11And itcameH935topassH935, when he wascomeH935nearהִקְרִ֖יבhik.RivH7126toenterH935intoאֶל־'el-H413Egyptמִצְרָ֑יְמָהmitz.Ra.ye.mahH4714, that hesaidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559untoSaraiשָׂרַ֣יsa.RaiH8297hiswifeאִשְׁתּ֔וֹ'ish.ToH802,BeholdH2009nowנָ֣אna'H4994, Iknowיָדַ֔עְתִּיya.Da'.tiH3045that thou art afairיְפַת־ye.fat-H3303womanאִשָּׁ֥ה'i.ShahH802tolookH2009uponH935:

12and it shallcomeH1961topassH1961, when theEgyptiansהַמִּצְרִ֔יםha.mitz.RimH4713shallseeיִרְא֤וּyir.'UH7200thee, that they shallsayוְאָמְר֖וּve.'a.me.RuH559, This is hiswifeאִשְׁתּ֣וֹ'ish.ToH802: and they willkillוְהָרְג֥וּve.ha.re.GuH2026meH7200, but they will save theealiveיְחַיּֽוּ׃ye.chai.YuH2421.

13Sayאִמְרִי־'im.ri-H559, IprayH4994thee, thou art mysisterאֲחֹ֣תִי'a.Cho.tiH269: that it may bewellיִֽיטַב־yi.tav-H3190withmeH4994for thysakeH4616, and that mysoulנַפְשִׁ֖יnaf.ShiH5315mayliveוְחָיְתָ֥הve.cha.ye.TahH2421becauseH4616of thee.

14And itcameH935topassH935, that, whenAbramאַבְרָ֖ם'av.RamH87wascomeH935intoH935Egyptמִצְרָ֑יְמָהmitz.Ra.ye.mahH4714, theEgyptiansH4714beheld thewomanהָ֣אִשָּׁ֔הha.'i.ShahH802thatsheהִ֖ואhi'H1931wasveryמְאֹֽד׃me.'OdH3966fairיָפָ֥הya.FahH3303.

15And theprincesשָׂרֵ֣יsa.ReiH8269ofPharaohפַרְעֹ֔הfar.'OhH6547sawוַיִּרְא֤וּvai.yir.'UH7200herH413, andpraisedוַיְהַֽלְל֥וּvay.ha.LuH1984herH413toPharaohפַּרְעֹ֑הpar.'OhH6547: and thewomanהָאִשָּׁ֖הha.'i.ShahH802wastakenוַתֻּקַּ֥חva.tu.KachH3947intoH413Pharaoh’sפַּרְעֹֽה׃par.'OhH6547houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004.

16And he entreatedAbramוּלְאַבְרָ֥םul.'av.RamH87wellהֵיטִ֖יבhei.TivH3190forherוַֽיְהִי־vay.hi-H1961sakeבַּעֲבוּרָ֑הּba.'a.vu.RahH5668: and he hadsheepצֹאן־tzon-H6629, andoxenוּבָקָר֙u.va.KarH1241, and he-asses, and menservants, andmaidservantsוּשְׁפָחֹ֔תu.she.fa.ChotH8198, and she-asses, andcamelsוּגְמַלִּֽים׃u.ge.ma.LimH1581.

17And theLORDיְהוָ֧ה׀Yah.wehH3068plaguedוַיְנַגַּ֨עvay.na.Ga'H5060Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֛הpar.'OhH6547and hishouseבֵּית֑וֹbei.ToH1004withgreatגְּדֹלִ֖יםge.do.LimH1419plaguesנְגָעִ֥יםne.ga.'ImH5061becauseעַל־'al-H5921ofSaraiשָׂרַ֖יsa.RaiH8297Abram’sאַבְרָֽם׃'av.RamH87wifeאֵ֥שֶׁת'E.shetH802.

18AndPharaohפַרְעֹה֙far.'OhH6547calledוַיִּקְרָ֤אvai.yik.Ra'H7121Abramלְאַבְרָ֔םle.'av.RamH87, andsaidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Whatמַה־mah-H4100is this that thou hastdoneעָשִׂ֣יתָ'a.Si.taH6213untomeH5046?whyלָ֚מָּהLa.mahH4100didst thounotלֹא־lo'-H3808tellהִגַּ֣דְתָּhi.Gad.taH5046meH5046thatsheהִֽוא׃hi'H1931was thywifeאִשְׁתְּךָ֖'ish.te.KhaH802?

19Whyלָמָ֤הla.MahH4100saidst thou,Sheהִ֔ואhi'H1931is mysisterאֲחֹ֣תִי'a.Cho.tiH269?soH3947that ItookH3947herH3947to be mywifeלְאִשָּׁ֑הle.'i.ShahH802:nowוְעַתָּ֕הve.'a.TahH6258thereforebeholdH2009thywifeאִשְׁתְּךָ֖'ish.te.KhaH802,takeH3947herH3947, andgoH2009thy way.

20AndPharaohפַּרְעֹ֖הpar.'OhH6547gaveוַיְצַ֥וvay.TzavH6680menH376chargeעָלָ֛יו'a.LavH5921concerning him: and they brought him on thewayH3605, and hiswifeאִשְׁתּ֖וֹ'ish.ToH802, andallH3605that he had.
