1Now the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068had saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Abramאַבְרָ֔ם'av.RamH87,Get thee outH3212of thy countryמֵאַרְצְךָ֥me.'ar.tze.KhaH776,and from thy kindredוּמִמּֽוֹלַדְתְּךָ֖u.mi.mo.lad.te.KhaH4138,and from thy father’sאָבִ֑יךָ'a.Vi.khaH1houseוּמִבֵּ֣יתu.mi.BeitH1004,unto a landהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776that I will shewאַרְאֶֽךָּ׃'ar.'E.kaH7200thee:

2And I will make of theeוְאֶֽעֶשְׂךָ֙ve.'e.'es.KhaH6213a greatגָּד֔וֹלga.DolH1419nationלְג֣וֹיle.GoyH1471,and I will blessוַאֲבָ֣רֶכְךָ֔va.'a.Va.rekh.khaH1288thee, and makeוַאֲגַדְּלָ֖הva.'a.ga.de.LahH1431thy nameשְׁמֶ֑ךָshe.Me.khaH8034greatH1431;and thou shalt be a blessingבְּרָכָֽה׃be.ra.KhahH1293:

3And I will blessוַאֲבָֽרֲכָה֙va.'a.va.ra.KhahH1288them that blessמְבָ֣רְכֶ֔יךָme.Va.re.Khei.khaH1288thee, and curseאָאֹ֑ר'a.'OrH779him that cursethוּמְקַלֶּלְךָ֖u.me.ka.lel.ChaH7043thee: and in thee shall all familiesמִשְׁפְּחֹ֥תmish.pe.ChotH4940of the earthהָאֲדָמָֽה׃ha.'a.da.MahH127be blessedוְנִבְרְכ֣וּve.niv.re.KhuH1288.

4So Abramאַבְרָ֗ם'av.RamH87departedH3212,as the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068had spokenדִּבֶּ֤רdi.BerH1696unto him; and Lotל֑וֹטLotH3876wentH3212with him: and Abramוְאַבְרָ֗םve.'av.RamH87wasseventyשָׁנִים֙ וְשִׁבְעִ֣יםsha.Nim ve.shiv.'ImH8141 H7657and fiveחָמֵ֤שׁcha.MeshH2568yearsשָׁנָ֔הsha.NahH8141oldבֶּן־ben-H1121when he departedבְּצֵאת֖וֹbe.tze.ToH3318out of Haranמֵחָרָֽן׃me.cha.RanH2771.

5And Abramאַבְרָם֩'av.RamH87tookוַיִּקַּ֣חvai.yi.KachH3947Saraiשָׂרַ֨יsa.RaiH8297his wifeאִשְׁתּ֜וֹ'ish.ToH802,and Lotל֣וֹטLotH3876his brother’sאָחִ֗יו'a.ChivH251sonבֶּן־ben-H1121,and all their substanceרְכוּשָׁם֙re.khu.ShamH7399that they had gatheredרָכָ֔שׁוּra.Kha.shuH7408,and the soulsהַנֶּ֖פֶשׁha.Ne.feshH5315that they had gottenעָשׂ֣וּ'a.SuH6213in Haranבְחָרָ֑ןve.cha.RanH2771;and they went forthוַיֵּצְא֗וּvai.ye.tze.'UH3318to goH3212into the landאַ֣רְצָה'Ar.tzahH776of Canaanכְּנַ֔עַןke.Na.'anH3667;and into the landאַ֥רְצָה'Ar.tzahH776of Canaanכְּנָֽעַן׃ke.Na.'anH3667they cameוַיָּבֹ֖אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935.

6And Abramאַבְרָם֙'av.RamH87passed throughוַיַּעֲבֹ֤רvai.ya.'a.VorH5674the landבָּאָ֔רֶץba.'A.retzH776unto the placeמְק֣וֹםme.KomH4725of Sichemשְׁכֶ֔םshe.KhemH7927,unto the plainאֵל֣וֹן'e.LonH436of Morehמוֹרֶ֑הmo.RehH4176.And the Canaaniteוְהַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֖יve.ha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669wasthenאָ֥ז'azH227in the landבָּאָֽרֶץ׃ba.'A.retzH776.

7And the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068appearedוַיֵּרָ֤אvai.ye.Ra'H7200unto Abramאַבְרָ֔ם'av.RamH87,and saidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Unto thy seedלְזַ֨רְעֲךָ֔le.Zar.'a.khaH2233will I giveאֶתֵּ֖ן'e.TenH5414thisהַזֹּ֑אתha.ZotH2063landהָאָ֣רֶץha.'A.retzH776:and there buildedוַיִּ֤בֶןvai.Yi.venH1129he an altarמִזְבֵּ֔חַmiz.Be.achH4196unto the Lordלַיהוָ֖הla.Yah.wehH3068,who appearedהַנִּרְאֶ֥הha.nir.'EhH7200unto him.

8And he removedוַיַּעְתֵּ֨קvai.ya'.TekH6275from thence unto a mountainהָהָ֗רָהha.Ha.rahH2022on the eastמִקֶּ֛דֶםmi.Ke.demH6924of Beth–elH1008,and pitchedוַיֵּ֣טvai.YetH5186his tentאָהְָל֑וֹ'o.ho.LoH168, havingBeth–elH1008on the westמִיָּם֙mi.YamH3220,and Haiוְהָעַ֣יve.ha.'AiH5857on the eastמִקֶּ֔דֶםmi.Ke.demH6924:and there he buildedוַיִּֽבֶן־vai.yi.ven-H1129an altarמִזְבֵּ֙חַ֙miz.Be.achH4196unto the Lordלַֽיהוָ֔הla.Yah.wehH3068,and calledוַיִּקְרָ֖אvai.yik.Ra'H7121upon the nameבְּשֵׁ֥םbe.ShemH8034of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

9And Abramאַבְרָ֔ם'av.RamH87journeyedוַיִּסַּ֣עvai.yi.Sa'H5265,going onהָל֥וֹךְha.LokhH1980stillוְנָס֖וֹעַve.na.So.a'H5265toward the southהַנֶּֽגְבָּה׃ פha.Neg.bahH5045.

10And there was a famineרָעָ֖בra.'AvH7458in the landבָּאָ֑רֶץba.'A.retzH776:and Abramאַבְרָ֤ם'av.RamH87went downוַיֵּ֨רֶדvai.Ye.redH3381into Egyptמִצְרַ֙יְמָה֙mitz.Ray.mahH4714to sojournלָג֣וּרla.GurH1481there; for the famineהָרָעָ֖בha.ra.'AvH7458wasgrievousכָבֵ֥דkha.VedH3515in the landבָּאָֽרֶץ׃ba.'A.retzH776.

11And it came to pass, whenכַּאֲשֶׁ֥רka.'a.SherH834he was come nearהִקְרִ֖יבhik.RivH7126to enterלָב֣וֹאla.Vo'H935into Egyptמִצְרָ֑יְמָהmitz.Ra.ye.mahH4714,that he saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559unto Saraiשָׂרַ֣יsa.RaiH8297his wifeאִשְׁתּ֔וֹ'ish.ToH802,Beholdהִנֵּה־hi.neh-H2009nowנָ֣אna'H4994,I knowיָדַ֔עְתִּיya.Da'.tiH3045that thou arta fairיְפַת־ye.fat-H3303womanאִשָּׁ֥ה'i.ShahH802to look uponמַרְאֶ֖הmar.'EhH4758:

12Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptiansהַמִּצְרִ֔יםha.mitz.RimH4713shall seeיִרְא֤וּyir.'UH7200thee, that they shall sayוְאָמְר֖וּve.'a.me.RuH559, This ishis wifeאִשְׁתּ֣וֹ'ish.ToH802:and they will killוְהָרְג֥וּve.ha.re.GuH2026me, but they will save thee aliveיְחַיּֽוּ׃ye.chai.YuH2421.

13Sayאִמְרִי־'im.ri-H559,I pray theeנָ֖אna'H4994, thou artmy sisterאֲחֹ֣תִי'a.Cho.tiH269:thatלְמַ֙עַן֙le.Ma.'anH4616it may be wellיִֽיטַב־yi.tav-H3190with me for thy sake; and my soulנַפְשִׁ֖יnaf.ShiH5315shall liveוְחָיְתָ֥הve.cha.ye.TahH2421because of theeבִּגְלָלֵֽךְ׃big.la.LekhH1558.

14And it came to pass, that, when Abramאַבְרָ֖ם'av.RamH87was comeכְּב֥וֹאke.Vo'H935into Egyptמִצְרָ֑יְמָהmitz.Ra.ye.mahH4714,the Egyptiansהַמִּצְרִים֙ha.mitz.RimH4713beheldוַיִּרְא֤וּvai.yir.'UH7200the womanהָ֣אִשָּׁ֔הha.'i.ShahH802that she wasveryמְאֹֽד׃me.'OdH3966fairיָפָ֥הya.FahH3303.

15The princesשָׂרֵ֣יsa.ReiH8269also of Pharaohפַרְעֹ֔הfar.'OhH6547sawוַיִּרְא֤וּvai.yir.'UH7200her, and commendedוַיְהַֽלְל֥וּvay.ha.LuH1984her beforeאֶל־'el-H413Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֑הpar.'OhH6547:and the womanהָאִשָּׁ֖הha.'i.ShahH802was takenוַתֻּקַּ֥חva.tu.KachH3947into Pharaoh’sפַּרְעֹֽה׃par.'OhH6547houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004.

16And he entreatedH3190Abramוּלְאַבְרָ֥םul.'av.RamH87wellH3190for her sake: and he had sheepצֹאן־tzon-H6629,and oxenוּבָקָר֙u.va.KarH1241,and he assesוַחֲמֹרִ֔יםva.cha.mo.RimH2543,and menservantsוַעֲבָדִים֙va.'a.va.DimH5650,and maidservantsוּשְׁפָחֹ֔תu.she.fa.ChotH8198,and she assesוַאֲתֹנֹ֖תva.'a.to.NotH860,and camelsוּגְמַלִּֽים׃u.ge.ma.LimH1581.

17And the Lordיְהוָ֧ה׀Yah.wehH3068plaguedוַיְנַגַּ֨עvay.na.Ga'H5060Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֛הpar.'OhH6547and his houseבֵּית֑וֹbei.ToH1004with greatגְּדֹלִ֖יםge.do.LimH1419plaguesנְגָעִ֥יםne.ga.'ImH5061because ofדְּבַ֥רde.VarH1697Saraiשָׂרַ֖יsa.RaiH8297Abram’sאַבְרָֽם׃'av.RamH87wifeאֵ֥שֶׁת'E.shetH802.

18And Pharaohפַרְעֹה֙far.'OhH6547calledוַיִּקְרָ֤אvai.yik.Ra'H7121Abramלְאַבְרָ֔םle.'av.RamH87,and saidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, What is this thatthou hast doneעָשִׂ֣יתָ'a.Si.taH6213unto me? why didst thou not tellהִגַּ֣דְתָּhi.Gad.taH5046me that she wasthy wifeאִשְׁתְּךָ֖'ish.te.KhaH802?

19Why saidst thouאָמַ֙רְתָּ֙'a.Mar.taH559, She ismy sisterאֲחֹ֣תִי'a.Cho.tiH269?so I might have takenוָאֶקַּ֥חva.'e.KachH3947her to me to wifeלְאִשָּׁ֑הle.'i.ShahH802:now therefore behold thy wifeאִשְׁתְּךָ֖'ish.te.KhaH802,takeקַ֥חkachH3947her,and go thy wayH3212.

20And Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֖הpar.'OhH6547commandedוַיְצַ֥וvay.TzavH6680hismenאֲנָשִׁ֑ים'a.na.ShimH582concerning him: and they sent him awayוַֽיְשַׁלְּח֥וּvay.sha.le.ChuH7971,and his wifeאִשְׁתּ֖וֹ'ish.ToH802, and all that he had.
