2AndShechemשְׁכֶ֧םshe.KhemH7927thesonבֶּן־ben-H1121ofHamorחֲמ֛וֹרcha.MorH2544theHiviteהַֽחִוִּ֖יha.chi.ViH2340, theprinceנְשִׂ֣יאne.Si'H5387of thelandהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776,sawוַיַּ֨רְאvai.Yar'H7200herH3947; and hetookH3947herH3947, andlayוַיִּשְׁכַּ֥בvai.yish.KavH7901withherH3947, and humbledherH3947.

3And hissoulנַפְשׁ֔וֹnaf.ShoH5315clave untoDinahבְּדִינָ֖הbe.di.NahH1783thedaughterבַּֽת־bat-H1323ofJacobיַעֲקֹ֑בya.'a.KoH3290, and helovedוַיֶּֽאֱהַב֙vai.ye.'e.HavH157the damsel, and spakekindlyלֵ֥בlevH3820unto the damsel.

4AndShechemשְׁכֶ֔םshe.KhemH7927spake unto hisfatherאָבִ֖יו'a.VivH1Hamorחֲמ֥וֹרcha.MorH2544,sayingH559,Getקַֽח־kach-H3947meאֶל־'el-H413this damsel towifeלְאִשָּֽׁה׃le.'i.ShahH802.

5NowH1961Jacobוְיַעֲקֹ֣בve.ya.'a.KoH3290heardשָׁמַ֗עsha.Ma'H8085that he haddefiledטִמֵּא֙ti.Me'H2930Dinahדִּינָ֣הdi.NahH1783hisdaughterבִתּ֔וֹvi.ToH1323; and hissonsוּבָנָ֛יוu.va.NavH1121were with hiscattleמִקְנֵ֖הוּmik.Ne.huH4735in thefieldבַּשָּׂדֶ֑הba.sa.DehH7704: andJacobיַעֲקֹ֖בya.'a.KoH3290heldH1961his peaceuntilעַד־'ad-H5704theycameבֹּאָֽם׃bo.'AmH935.

6AndHamorחֲמ֥וֹרcha.MorH2544thefatherאֲבִֽי־'a.vi-H1ofShechemשְׁכֶ֖םshe.KhemH7927wentH3318outH3318untoJacobיַעֲקֹ֑בya.'a.KoH3290to commune with him.

7And thesonsוּבְנֵ֨יu.ve.NeiH1121ofJacobיַעֲקֹ֜בya.'a.KoH3290cameבָּ֤אוּBa.'uH935in from thefieldהַשָּׂדֶה֙ha.sa.DehH7704when theyheardכְּשָׁמְעָ֔םke.sha.me.'AmH8085it: and themenH376weregrievedוַיִּֽתְעַצְּבוּ֙vai.yit.'a.tze.VuH6087, and they wereveryמְאֹ֑דme.'OdH3966wroth,becauseכִּֽי־ki-H3588he had wroughtfollyנְבָלָ֞הne.va.LahH5039inIsraelבְיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לve.Yis.ra.'ElH3478inlyingלִשְׁכַּב֙lish.KavH7901withJacob’sיַעֲקֹ֔בya.'a.KoH3290daughterבַּֽת־bat-H1323; whichthingH5039oughtnotלֹ֥אlo'H3808to bedoneH6213.

8AndHamorחֲמ֖וֹרcha.MorH2544communed with them,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559, Thesoulנַפְשׁוֹ֙naf.ShoH5315of mysonבְּנִ֗יbe.NiH1121Shechemשְׁכֶ֣םshe.KhemH7927longeth for yourdaughterבְּבִתְּכֶ֔םbe.vi.te.KhemH1323: Iprayנָ֥אna'H4994youH5414giveתְּנ֨וּte.NuH5414herH802unto him towifeלְאִשָּֽׁה׃le.'i.ShahH802.

9AndmakeH5414ye marriages withusH5414;giveתִּתְּנוּ־ti.te.nu-H5414yourdaughtersבְּנֹֽתֵיכֶם֙be.no.tei.KhemH1323untousH5414, andtakeתִּקְח֥וּtik.ChuH3947ourdaughtersבְּנֹתֵ֖ינוּbe.no.Tei.nuH1323untoyouH5414.

10And ye shalldwellתֵּשֵׁ֑בוּte.She.vuH3427withusH6440: and thelandוְהָאָ֙רֶץ֙ve.ha.'A.retzH776shall bebeforeH6440youH6440;dwellשְׁבוּ֙she.VuH3427andtradeוּסְחָר֔וּהָu.se.cha.Ru.haH5503ye therein, and getyouH6440possessionsוְהֵֽאָחֲז֖וּve.he.'a.cha.ZuH270therein.

14andsaidוַיֹּאמְר֣וּvai.yo.me.RuH559unto them,Weכִּֽי־ki-H3588cannotלֹ֤אlo'H3808doלַעֲשׂוֹת֙la.'a.soTH6213thisthingהַדָּבָ֣רha.da.VarH1697, togiveלָתֵת֙la.TetH5414oursisterאֲחֹתֵ֔נוּ'a.cho.Te.nuH269to one that isuncircumcisedעָרְלָ֑ה'a.re.LahH6190; for that were areproachחֶרְפָּ֥הcher.PahH2781untousH5414:

15Onlyאַךְ־'akh-H389on this condition willweH518consentנֵא֣וֹתne.'otH225untoyouH518:ifH518ye will be asweH518be, thateveryכָּל־kol-H3605maleזָכָֽר׃za.KharH2145ofyouH518becircumcisedלְהִמֹּ֥לle.hi.MolH4135;

17ButifH518ye willnotלֹ֧אlo'H3808hearken untousאֵלֵ֖ינוּ'e.Lei.nuH413, to becircumcisedלְהִמּ֑וֹלle.hi.MolH4135; then willweH518takeוְלָקַ֥חְנוּve.la.Kach.nuH3947ourdaughterבִּתֵּ֖נוּbi.Te.nuH1323, andweH518will begoneוְהָלָֽכְנוּ׃ve.ha.La.khe.nuH1980.

20AndHamorחֲמ֛וֹרcha.MorH2544andShechemוּשְׁכֶ֥םu.she.KhemH7927hissonבְּנ֖וֹbe.NoH1121cameוַיָּבֹ֥אvai.ya.Vo'H935unto thegateשַׁ֣עַרSha.'arH8179of theircityעִירָ֑ם'i.RamH5892, and communed with themenH376of theircityעִירָ֖ם'i.RamH5892,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

23ShallnotH3808theircattleH929and their substance andallוְכָל־ve.kholH3605theirbeastsH929be ours?onlyאַ֚ךְ'akhH389letH3808usH929consentנֵא֣וֹתָהne.'o.tahH225unto them, and they willdwellוְיֵשְׁב֖וּve.ye.she.VuH3427withusH929.

27Thesonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121ofJacobיַעֲקֹ֗בya.'a.KoH3290cameבָּ֚אוּBa.'uH935uponH5921theslainהַ֣חֲלָלִ֔יםha.cha.la.LimH2491, and spoiled thecityהָעִ֑ירha.'IrH5892,becauseH5921they haddefiledטִמְּא֖וּti.me.'UH2930theirsisterאֲחוֹתָֽם׃'a.cho.TamH269.

28Theytookלָקָֽחוּ׃la.Ka.chuH3947theirflocksצֹאנָ֥םtzo.NamH6629and theirherdsבְּקָרָ֖םbe.ka.RamH1241and their asses, and thatwhichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834was in thecityבָּעִ֛ירba.'IrH5892, and thatwhichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834was in thefieldבַּשָּׂדֶ֖הba.sa.DehH7704;

29andallכָּל־kol-H3605theirwealthחֵילָ֤םchei.LamH2428, andallכָּל־kol-H3605theirlittleטַפָּם֙ta.PamH2945onesH2945and theirwivesנְשֵׁיהֶ֔םne.shei.HemH802,tookH7617theycaptiveשָׁב֖וּsha.VuH7617and spoiled,evenH853allכָּל־kol-H3605that was in thehouseבַּבָּֽיִת׃ba.Ba.yitH1004.
