Isaiah 5:18-25
18WoeH1945 to those who dragH4900 1wrongdoingH5771 with the cordsH2256 of 2deceitH7723, And sinH2403 as if with cartH5699 ropesH5688;193Who sayH559, “Let Him hurryH4116, let Him doH2363 His workH4639 quicklyH2363, soH4616 thatH4616 we may seeH7200 it; And let the planH6098 of the HolyH6918 OneH6918 of IsraelH3478 approachH7126 And comeH935 to passH935, so that we may knowH3045 it!”20WoeH1945 to those who 4callH559 evilH7451 goodH2896, and goodH2896 evilH7451; Who 56substituteH7760 darknessH2822 for lightH216 and lightH216 for darknessH2822; Who 7substituteH7760 bitterH4751 for sweetH4966 and sweetH4966 for bitterH4751!21WoeH1945 to those who are 8wiseH2450 in their own eyesH5869 And 9cleverH995 in their own sightH5048H6440!2210WoeH1945 to those who are heroesH1368 in drinkingH8354 wineH3196, And valiantH2428 menH376 in mixingH4537 intoxicatingH7941 drinkH7941,2311Who declareH6663 the wickedH7563 innocentH6663 for a bribeH7810, And 12takeH5493 awayH5493 the 13rightsH6666 of the onesH6662 who are inH6662 theH6662 rightH6662!
24ThereforeH3651, 14as a tongueH3956 of fireH784 consumesH398 stubbleH7179, And dryH2842 grassH2842 collapsesH7503 in the flameH3852, So their 15rootH8328 will becomeH1961 16like rotH4716, and their blossomH6525 17blowH5927 awayH5927 like dustH80; For they have 18rejectedH3988 the LawH8451 of the LordH3068 of armiesH6635, And discardedH5006 the wordH565 of the HolyH6918 OneH6918 of IsraelH3478.25For thisH3651 reasonH3651 the 19angerH639 of the LordH3068 has burnedH2734 against His peopleH5971, And He has stretchedH5186 outH5186 His handH3027 againstH5921 them and struckH5221 them. And the 20mountainsH2022 quakedH7264, and their 21corpsesH5038 22layH1961 like refuseH5478 in the middleH7130 of the streetsH2351. 23Despite allH3605 thisH2088, His angerH639 24isH7725 not spentH7725, But His 25handH3027 is stillH5750 stretchedH5186 outH5186.
