Isaiah 29:9-17
91Be delayedH4102 and horrifiedH8539, BlindH8173 yourselves and be blindH8173; They 2becomeH7937 drunkH7937, but not with wineH3196, They staggerH5128, but not with intoxicatingH7941 drinkH7941.10For the LordH3068 has pouredH5258 overH5921 you a spiritH7307 of deepH8639 3sleepH8639, He has 4shutH6105 your eyesH5869--the prophetsH5030; And He has coveredH3680 your headsH7218--the seersH2374. 11The entireH3605 visionH2380 will be to you like the wordsH1697 of a sealedH2856 56bookH5612, whichH834, when they giveH5414 it to the one who 7is literateH3045H5612, sayingH559, “PleaseH4994 readH7121 thisH2088,” he will sayH559, “I cannotH3201H3808, becauseH3588 it is sealedH2856.” 12Then the 8bookH5612 will be givenH5414 to the one whoH834 9is illiterateH3808H3045H5612, sayingH559, “PleaseH4994 readH7121 thisH2088.” And he will sayH559, “I 10cannotH3808 readH3045H5612.”
13Then the LordH136 saidH559, “BecauseH3282H3588 11thisH2088 peopleH5971 approachesH5066 Me with their 12wordsH6310 And honorsH3513 Me with their lipsH8193, But their heartH3820 isH7368 farH7368 awayH7368 from Me, And their 13reverenceH3372 for Me 14consistsH1961 of the commandmentH4687 of menH376 that is taughtH3925;14ThereforeH3651 beholdH2009, I will once againH3254 dealH6381 15marvelouslyH6381 with thisH2088 peopleH5971, wondrouslyH6382 marvelousH6381; And 16the wisdomH2451 of their wiseH2450 menH2450 will perishH6, And the understandingH998 of their menH995 whoH995 haveH995 understandingH995 will be concealedH5641.”
15WoeH1945 to those who deeplyH6009 17hideH5641 their 18plansH6098 from the LordH3068, And whose 19deedsH4639 are done in a darkH4285 placeH4285, And they sayH559, “20WhoH4310 seesH7200 us?” or “WhoH4310 knowsH3045 us?”16You turnH2016 things aroundH2016! Shall the potterH3335 be consideredH2803 21as equal with the clayH2563, That 22whatH4639 is madeH4639 would sayH559 to its makerH6213, “He did not makeH6213 me”; Or whatH3336 is formedH3335 sayH559 to him who formedH3335 it, “He has noH3808 understandingH995”?
17Is it not yetH5750 just a littleH4592 whileH4592 23Before LebanonH3844 will be turnedH7725 into a 24fertileH3759 fieldH3759, And the fertileH3759 fieldH3759 will be consideredH2803 as a forestH3293?
