Isaiah 1:9-31
91IfH3884 the LordH3068 of armiesH6635 Had not leftH3498 us a fewH4592 2survivorsH8300, We would be like 3SodomH5467, We would beH1819 likeH1819 GomorrahH6017.
10HearH8085 4the wordH1697 of the LordH3068, You rulersH7101 of 5SodomH5467; ListenH238 to the instructionH8451 of our GodH430, You peopleH5971 of GomorrahH6017!11“6WhatH4100 are your manyH7230 sacrificesH2077 to Me?” SaysH559 the LordH3068. “I 7have hadH7646 enoughH7646 of burntH5930 offeringsH5930 of ramsH352 And the fatH2459 of fattenedH4806 cattleH4806; And I takeH2654 noH3808 pleasureH2654 in the bloodH1818 of bullsH6499, lambsH3532, or goatsH6260.12WhenH3588 you comeH935 8to appearH7200 beforeH6440 Me, WhoH4310 requiresH1245 9of you thisH2088 tramplingH7429 of My courtyardsH2691?13Do not goH3254 onH3254 bringingH935 your worthlessH7723 offeringsH4503, 10IncenseH7004 is an abominationH8441 to Me. 11NewH2320 moonH2320 and SabbathH7676, the 12proclamationH7121 of an assemblyH4744-- I cannotH3808 13endureH3201 wrongdoingH205 and the festiveH6116 assemblyH6116.1414I hateH8130 your newH2320 moonH2320 festivals and your 15appointedH4150 feastsH4150, They have becomeH1961 a burdenH2960 to Me; I amH3811 16tiredH3811 of bearingH5375 them.15So when you 17spreadH6566 outH6566 your handsH3709 in prayer, 18I will hideH5956 My eyesH5869 from you; YesH1571, evenH3588 thoughH3588 you 19offerH7235 manyH7235 prayersH8605, I will not be listeningH8085. 20Your handsH3027 are 21coveredH4390 with bloodH1818.
16“22WashH7364 yourselves, 23makeH2135 yourselves cleanH2135; 24RemoveH5493 the evilH7455 of your deedsH4611 from My sightH5048H5869. 25StopH2308 doingH7489 evilH7489,17LearnH3925 to doH3190 goodH3190; 26SeekH1875 justiceH4941, RebukeH833 the oppressorH2541, 27ObtainH8199 justiceH8199 for the orphanH3490, PleadH7378 for the widow’sH490 caseH490.
18“ComeH1980 nowH4994, and 28let us 29debateH3198 your case,” SaysH559 the LordH3068, “30ThoughH518 your sinsH2399 are as scarletH8144, They shall become as whiteH3835 as snowH7950; ThoughH518 they are redH119 like crimsonH8438, They shall be like woolH6785.1931IfH518 you areH14 willingH14 and obedientH8085, You will 32eatH398 the bestH2898 of the landH776;20But ifH518 you refuseH3985 and rebelH4784, You will be 33devouredH398 by the swordH2719.” For 34the mouthH6310 of the LordH3068 has spokenH1696.
21HowH351 the faithfulH539 cityH7151 has becomeH1961 a 35prostituteH2181, She who was fullH4392 of justiceH4941! RighteousnessH6664 once dweltH3885 in her, But nowH6258 murderersH7523.22Your silverH3701 has becomeH1961 36wasteH5509 matterH5509, Your drinkH5435 dilutedH4107 with waterH4325.23Your 37rulersH8269 are rebelsH5637 And companionsH2270 of thievesH1590; EveryoneH3605 38lovesH157 a bribeH7810 And chasesH7291 after giftsH8021. They 39do not obtainH8199 justiceH8199 for the 40orphanH3490, NorH3808 does the widow’sH490 caseH7379 comeH935 beforeH413 them.
24ThereforeH3651 the LordH136 41GodH3068 of armiesH6635, The 42MightyH46 OneH46 of IsraelH3478, declaresH5002, “AhH1945, I will haveH5162 satisfactionH5162 againstH4480 My adversariesH6862, And 43avengeH5358 Myself on My enemiesH340.25I will also turnH7725 My handH3027 againstH5921 you, And 44smeltH6884 awayH6884 your impuritiesH5509 as with lyeH1253; And I will removeH5493 allH3605 your slagH913.26Then I will restoreH7725 your 45judgesH8199 as at firstH7223, And your counselorsH3289 as at the beginningH8462; AfterH310 that you will be calledH7121 the 46cityH5892 of righteousnessH6664, A faithfulH539 cityH7151.”
27ZionH6726 will be 47redeemedH6299 with justiceH4941 And her 48repentantH7725 ones with righteousnessH6666.28But 49wrongdoersH6586 and sinnersH2400 togetherH3164 will be 50brokenH7667, And those who abandonH5800 the LordH3068 will comeH3615 toH3615 anH3615 endH3615.2951You certainlyH3588 will beH954 ashamedH954 of the 5253oaksH352 whichH834 you have desiredH2530, And you will be embarrassedH2659 by the 54gardensH1593 whichH834 you have chosenH977.30For you will be like an 55oakH424 whose 56leafH5929 withersH5034 awayH5034, Or like a gardenH1593 that hasH369 noH369 waterH4325.31The strongH2634 manH2634 will becomeH1961 like 57flaxH5296 fiberH5296, And his workH6467 a sparkH5213. So they shall bothH8147 58burnH1197 togetherH3164 And thereH369 willH369 beH369 59noH369 oneH369 to extinguishH3518 them.
