17But nowνυνὶnuniG3570,noG3765longerG3765am I the onedoingκατεργάζομαιkatergazomaiG2716it, but sinἁμαρτία.hamartiaG266that dwellsG1774in me.

18For I knowG3609that goodἀγαθόν·agathonG18does not dwellοἰκεῖoikeiG3611in me, that is, in myfleshσαρκίsarkiG4561;for the willingθέλεινtheleinG2309is presentπαράκειταίparakeitaiG3873in me, but the doingκατεργάζεσθαιkatergazesthaiG2716of the goodκαλὸνkalonG2570is not.

19Forthe goodἀγαθόν,agathonG18that I wantθέλωthelōG2309,I do not doποιῶpoiōG4160,but I practiceπράσσω.prassōG4238the veryτοῦτοtoutoG3778evilκακὸνkakonG2556that I do not wantθέλωthelōG2309.

20But ifεἰeiG1487I doποιῶ,poiōG4160the veryG3778thingG3778I do not wantθέλωthelōG2309,I am noG3765longerG3765the onedoingκατεργάζομαιkatergazomaiG2716it, but sinἁμαρτία.hamartiaG266that dwellsοἰκοῦσαoikousaG3611in me.

21I findεὑρίσκωheuriskōG2147thenἄραaraG686theprincipleνόμονnomonG3551that evilκακὸνkakonG2556is presentπαράκειται.parakeitaiG3873in me, the one who wantsθέλοντιthelontiG2309to doποιεῖνpoieinG4160goodκαλὸνkalonG2570.

22For I joyfullyG4913agreeG4913with the lawνόμῳnomōG3551of GodθεοῦtheouG2316inthe innerἔσωesōG2080personἄνθρωπον,anthrōponG444,

23but I seeβλέπωblepōG991a differentἕτερονheteronG2087lawνόμονnomonG3551inthe partsμέλεσίνmelesinG3196of my body wagingG497warG497againstG497thelawνόμῳnomōG3551of my mindνοόςnoosG3563,and makingG163me aG163prisonerG163ofthe lawνόμῳnomōG3551of sinἁμαρτίαςhamartiasG266, the law which is inmy body’s partsμέλεσίνmelesinG3196.

24WretchedταλαίπωροςtalaipōrosG5005manἄνθρωπος·anthrōposG444that I am! WhoτίςtisG5101will setG4506me freeG4506fromthe bodyσώματοςsōmatosG4983of thisτούτου;¶toutouG3778deathθανάτουthanatouG2288?
