2The Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Judahיְהוּדָ֣הye.hu.DahH3063shall goיַעֲלֶ֑הya.'a.LehH5927upH5927;beholdהִנֵּ֛הhi.NehH2009,I have handedבְּיָדֽוֹ׃be.ya.DoH5414 H3027the landהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776overH5414to him.”

3Then Judahיְהוּדָה֩ye.hu.DahH3063saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to his brotherאָחִ֜יו'a.ChivH251Simeonלְשִׁמְע֨וֹןle.shim.'onH8095, “GoH5927upH5927with me intothe territoryH1486allottedH1486me, and let’s fightוְנִֽלָּחֲמָה֙ve.ni.la.cha.MahH3898the Canaanitesבַּֽכְּנַעֲנִ֔יba.ke.na.'a.NiH3669; andI inH1571turnH1571will goוְהָלַכְתִּ֧יve.ha.lakh.TiH1980with you intothe territoryH1486allottedH1486you.” So Simeonשִׁמְעֽוֹן׃shim.'onH8095wentוַיֵּ֥לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980with him.

4Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063wentH5927upH5927, andthe Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068handedבְּיָדָ֑םbe.ya.DamH5414 H3027overH5414to them the Canaanitesהַכְּנַעֲנִ֥יha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669and the Perizzitesוְהַפְּרִזִּ֖יve.hap.pe.ri.ZiH6522, and theydefeatedוַיַּכּ֣וּםvai.ya.KumH5221tenעֲשֶׂ֥רֶת'a.Se.retH6235thousandאֲלָפִ֖ים'a.la.FimH505menאִֽישׁ׃'IshH376at Bezekבְּבֶ֔זֶקbe.Ve.zekH966.

5They foundוַֽ֠יִּמְצְאוּVai.yim.tze.'uH4672Adoni-bezekH137in Bezekבְּבֶ֔זֶקbe.Ve.zekH966and foughtוַיִּֽלָּחֲמ֖וּvai.yi.la.cha.MuH3898against him, and theydefeatedוַיַּכּ֕וּvai.ya.KuH5221the Canaanitesהַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֖יha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669and the Perizzitesהַפְּרִזִּֽי׃ha.pe.ri.ZiH6522.

6But Adoni-bezekH137fledוַיָּ֙נָס֙vai.Ya.nosH5127;and they pursuedוַֽיִּרְדְּפ֖וּ אַחֲרָ֑יוvai.yir.de.Fu 'a.cha.RavH7291 H310him and caughtוַיֹּאחֲז֣וּvai.yo.cha.ZuH270him, and cutוַֽיְקַצְּצ֔וּvay.ka.tze.TzuH7112offH7112histhumbsבְּהֹנ֥וֹתbe.ho.NotH931and bigH931toesוְרַגְלָֽיו׃ve.rag.LavH931 H7272.

7And Adoni-bezekH137saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Seventyשִׁבְעִ֣ים׀shiv.'ImH7657kingsמְלָכִ֡יםme.la.KhimH4428with their thumbsבְּֽהֹנוֹת֩be.ho.nOtH931and their bigH931toesוְרַגְלֵיהֶ֜םve.rag.lei.HemH931 H7272cutמְקֻצָּצִ֗יםme.ku.tza.TzimH7112offH7112used to gatherמְלַקְּטִים֙me.la.ke.TimH3950upH3950scrapsunderתַּ֣חַתTa.chatH8478my tableשֻׁלְחָנִ֔יshul.cha.NiH7979;as I have doneעָשִׂ֔יתִי'a.Si.tiH6213,soכֵּ֥ןkenH3651Godאֱלֹהִ֑ים'E.lo.HimH430has repaidשִׁלַּם־shi.lam-H7999me.” So they broughtוַיְבִיאֻ֥הוּvay.vi.'U.huH935him to Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֖םye.ru.sha.LimH3389,and he diedוַיָּ֥מָתvai.Ya.motH4191thereשָֽׁם׃ פShamH8033.
