2He judgedוַיִּשְׁפֹּט֙vai.yish.PotH8199Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478for twenty-threeעֶשְׂרִ֥ים וְשָׁלֹ֖שׁ'es.Rim ve.sha.LoshH6242 H7969yearsשָׁנָ֑הsha.NahH8141.Then he diedוַיָּ֖מָתvai.Ya.motH4191and was buriedוַיִּקָּבֵ֥רvai.yi.ka.VerH6912in Shamirבְּשָׁמִֽיר׃ פbe.sha.MirH8069.

3Afterאַחֲרָ֔יו'a.cha.RavH310him, Jairיָאִ֖ירya.'IrH2971the Gileaditeהַגִּלְעָדִ֑יha.gil.'a.DiH1569roseH6965upH6965and judgedוַיִּשְׁפֹּט֙vai.yish.PotH8199Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478for twenty-twoעֶשְׂרִ֥ים וּשְׁתַּ֖יִם'es.Rim u.she.Ta.yimH6242 H8147yearsשָׁנָֽה׃sha.NahH8141.

4And he hadוַֽיְהִי־vay.hi-H1961thirtyשְׁלֹשִׁ֣יםshe.lo.ShimH7970sonsבָּנִ֗יםba.NimH1121who rodeרֹֽכְבִים֙ro.khe.VimH7392on thirtyשְׁלֹשִׁ֣יםshe.lo.ShimH7970donkeysעֲיָרִ֔ים'a.ya.RimH5895,and they had thirtyוּשְׁלֹשִׁ֥יםu.she.lo.ShimH7970citiesעֲיָרִ֖ים'a.ya.RimH5892in the landבְּאֶ֥רֶץbe.'E.retzH776of Gileadהַגִּלְעָֽד׃ha.gil.'AdH1568that are calledיִקְרְא֣וּ׀yik.re.'UH7121Havvoth-jairH2334to thisהַזֶּ֔הha.ZehH2088dayהַיּ֣וֹםhai.YomH3117.

5And Jairיָאִ֔ירya.'IrH2971diedוַיָּ֣מָתvai.Ya.motH4191and was buriedוַיִּקָּבֵ֖רvai.yi.ka.VerH6912in Kamonבְּקָמֽוֹן׃ פbe.ka.MonH7056.

6Then the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478againוַיֹּסִ֣פוּ׀vai.yo.Si.fuH3254didלַעֲשׂ֣וֹתla.'a.SotH6213evilהָרַע֮ha.Ra'H7451in the sightבְּעֵינֵ֣יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of the Lordיְהוָה֒Yah.wehH3068, andthey servedוַיַּעַבְד֣וּvai.ya.'av.DuH5647the Baalsהַבְּעָלִ֣יםha.be.'a.LimH1168and the Ashtarothהָעַשְׁתָּר֡וֹתha.'ash.ta.RotH6252,the godsאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Aramאֲרָם֩'a.RamH758,the godsאֱלֹהֵ֨י'e.lo.HeiH430of Sidonצִיד֜וֹןtzi.DonH6721,the godsאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Moabמוֹאָ֗בmo.'AvH4124,the godsאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of the sonsבְנֵי־ve.nei-H1121of Ammonעַמּ֔וֹןa.MonH5983,and the godsאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of the Philistinesפְלִשְׁתִּ֑יםfe.lish.TimH6430; sothey abandonedוַיַּעַזְב֥וּvai.ya.'az.VuH5800the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068and did not serveעֲבָדֽוּהוּ׃'a.va.Du.huH5647Him.

7And the angerאַ֥ף'afH639of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068burnedוַיִּֽחַר־vai.yi.char-H2734against Israelבְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לbe.Yis.ra.'ElH3478, and Hesoldוַֽיִּמְכְּרֵם֙vai.yim.ke.RemH4376them into the handsבְּיַד־be.yad-H3027of the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּ֔יםpe.lish.TimH6430,and into the handsוּבְיַ֖דu.ve.YadH3027of the sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Ammonעַמּֽוֹן׃a.MonH5983.

8And theyafflictedוַֽיִּרְעֲצ֤וּvai.yir.'a.TzuH7492and oppressedוַיְרֹֽצְצוּ֙vay.ro.tze.TzuH7533the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478that yearבַּשָּׁנָ֖הba.sha.NahH8141;for eighteenשְׁמֹנֶ֨ה עֶשְׂרֵ֜הshe.mo.Neh 'es.RehH8083 H6240yearsשָׁנָ֗הsha.NahH8141they oppressedallכָּל־kol-H3605the sonsבְּנֵ֤יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478whoH834were beyondבְּעֵ֣בֶרbe.'E.verH5676the Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּ֔ןhai.yar.DenH3383,in Gileadבַּגִּלְעָֽד׃ba.gil.'AdH1568in the landבְּאֶ֥רֶץbe.'E.retzH776of the Amoritesהָאֱמֹרִ֖יha.'e.mo.RiH567.

9And the sonsבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Ammonעַמּוֹן֙'a.mOnH5983crossedוַיַּעַבְר֤וּvai.ya.'av.RuH5674the Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּ֔ןhai.yar.DenH3383to fightלְהִלָּחֵ֛םle.hi.la.ChemH3898alsoגַּם־gam-H1571against Judahבִּיהוּדָ֥הbi.hu.DahH3063,Benjaminוּבְבִנְיָמִ֖יןu.ve.vin.ya.MinH1144,and the houseוּבְבֵ֣יתu.ve.VeitH1004of Ephraimאֶפְרָ֑יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669,so that Israelלְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לle.Yis.ra.'ElH3478wasH6887inH6887greatמְאֹֽד׃me.'OdH3966difficultyH6887.

10Then thesonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478criedH2199outH2199to the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559, “We have sinnedחָטָ֣אנוּcha.Ta.nuH2398against You, for indeed, we have abandonedעָזַ֙בְנוּ֙'a.Zav.nuH5800our Godאֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ'e.lo.Hei.nuH430and servedוַֽנַּעֲבֹ֖דva.na.'a.VodH5647the Baalsהַבְּעָלִֽים׃ פha.be.'a.LimH1168.”

11And the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068saidוַ֥יֹּאמֶרVai.yo.merH559to the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478, “Did I not save youfrom the Egyptiansמִמִּצְרַ֙יִם֙mi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714,the Amoritesהָ֣אֱמֹרִ֔יha.'e.mo.RiH567,the sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Ammonעַמּ֖וֹןa.MonH5983,and the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃pe.lish.TimH6430?

12And when the Sidoniansוְצִידוֹנִ֤יםve.tzi.do.NimH6722,the Amalekitesוַֽעֲמָלֵק֙va.'a.ma.LekH6002,and the Maonitesוּמָע֔וֹןu.ma.'onH4584oppressedלָחֲצ֖וּla.cha.TzuH3905you, you criedH6817outH6817to Me, and I savedוָאוֹשִׁ֥יעָהva.'o.Shi.'ahH3467you from their handsמִיָּדָֽם׃mi.ya.DamH3027.

13Yetyou abandonedעֲזַבְתֶּ֣ם'a.zav.TemH5800Me and servedוַתַּעַבְד֖וּva.ta.'av.DuH5647otherאֲחֵרִ֑ים'a.che.RimH312godsאֱלֹהִ֣ים'E.lo.HimH430;thereforeלָכֵ֥ןla.KhenH3651I will noלֹֽא־lo'-H3808longerאוֹסִ֖יף'o.SifH3254saveלְהוֹשִׁ֥יעַle.ho.Shi.a'H3467you.

14Goלְכ֗וּle.KhuH1980and cryוְזַֽעֲקוּ֙ve.za.'a.KuH2199outH2199to the godsהָ֣אֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834you have chosenבְּחַרְתֶּ֖םbe.char.TemH977;let them saveיוֹשִׁ֥יעוּyo.Shi.'uH3467you in the timeבְּעֵ֥תbe.'EtH6256of your distressצָרַתְכֶֽם׃tza.rat.KhemH6869.”

15Then the sonsבְנֵי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֤לYis.ra.'ElH3478saidוַיֹּאמְר֨וּvai.yo.me.RuH559to the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068, “We have sinnedחָטָ֔אנוּcha.Ta.nuH2398,doעֲשֵׂה־'a.seh-H6213to us whateverכְּכָל־ke.khol-H3605seemsבְּעֵינֶ֑יךָbe.'ei.Nei.khaH5869goodהַטּ֖וֹבha.TovH2896to You; onlyאַ֛ךְ'akhH389pleaseנָ֖אna'H4994saveהַצִּילֵ֥נוּha.tzi.Le.nuH5337us thisהַזֶּֽה׃ha.ZehH2088dayהַיּ֥וֹםhai.YomH3117.”

16So they removedוַיָּסִ֜ירוּvai.ya.Si.ruH5493the foreignהַנֵּכָר֙ha.ne.KharH5236godsאֱלֹהֵ֤י'e.lo.HeiH430from amongמִקִּרְבָּ֔םmi.kir.BamH7130them and servedוַיַּעַבְד֖וּvai.ya.'av.DuH5647the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068; andHe couldH7114noH7114longerH7114endureH7114the miseryבַּעֲמַ֥לba.'a.MalH5999of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ פYis.ra.'ElH3478.

17Then the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Ammonעַמּ֔וֹןa.MonH5983were summonedוַיִּצָּֽעֲקוּ֙vai.yi.tza.'a.KuH6817,and they campedוַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּvai.ya.cha.NuH2583in Gileadבַּגִּלְעָ֑דba.gil.'AdH1568.And the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478gatheredוַיֵּאָֽסְפוּ֙vai.ye.'a.se.FuH622together and campedוַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּvai.ya.cha.NuH2583inMizpahבַּמִּצְפָּֽה׃ba.mitz.PahH4709.

18And the peopleהָעָ֜םha.'AmH5971,the leadersשָׂרֵ֤יsa.ReiH8269of Gileadגִלְעָד֙gil.'AdH1568,saidוַיֹּאמְר֨וּvai.yo.me.RuH559to oneאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376anotherרֵעֵ֔הוּre.'E.huH7453, “Whoמִ֣יmiH4310is the manהָאִ֔ישׁha.'IshH376whoאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834will beginיָחֵ֔לya.ChelH2490to fightלְהִלָּחֵ֖םle.hi.la.ChemH3898against the sonsבִּבְנֵ֣יbiv.NeiH1121of Ammonעַמּ֑וֹןa.MonH5983?He shall becomeיִֽהְיֶ֣הyih.YehH1961headלְרֹ֔אשׁle.RoshH7218over allלְכֹ֖לle.KholH3605the inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵ֥יyo.she.VeiH3427of Gileadגִלְעָֽד׃ פgil.'AdH1568.”
